Question for 99'-05' Celica Owners

Hi guys just want to find out what oils you all use, gearbox especially however few 99-05 Celica owners there may be here on this forum :P. Also would like to find out if any of yous know what Toyota uses.

Thanks man, i just did that and it seems most of the Celica owners are on that forum, great info there :)

And i thought they were saying for synchromesh gearboxes we sould be using GL4 grade oil as "GL5 can reduce synchro life by one-half" - Redline's comments. ??? :unsure:

btw i am using Castrol Syntrax 75W90 GL5 atm and i have recently ordered Redline MT90 GL4.

hmmm yeah sorry mate i don't know all that much about it short of that i was told by a GT4 guy that i should get GL5 and thats what i did, i can't confirm or deny that comment, considering mine had automatic tranmission fluid in it b4 i got it i have to go with its gotta be better then that!!!

yeh i don't think GL5 is all that bad, its actually really good for protecting the gears themselves but maybe with synchros GL4 oils just do a better job, i think GL5 is good with gearboxes that have no problems and GL4 is better for gearboxes with a little bit of shifting problems. That's my assumption ;)
