Aerial conspiracy

Has anyone else been unfortunate enough to break their aerial?

I 'knocked' mine while washing the car and it just broke.

Spoke to toyota today, and as the actual turret broke the replacement cost for part alone was $209. Never mind labour for getting in between the roof trim.

Dang, i could by a new head for that.

I know its yours but wash it slowly boys.

Claim warrenty and say it just fell off!

That must have been a pretty hard knock. So the base of the antenna broke? Or was it just the top bit?

kanjo sorry to hear about your bad luck. sounds like the replacement turret comes from japan. shop around and you might find out that turrets from other cars will also work.

do you know that the flat boot carpet which covers the spare wheel is $900?

Seem to remember someone (E-Gene?) saying Orrock could get special short aerials, anyone know anything ,prices etc ?

And Kcorro I believe 900 for the boot carpet, I was quoted 360 for a replacement spot light...thats for one!

Yup, but it's just the screw on bit of antenna and not the whole thing. That's why I asked if you broke the whole thing.

I actually broke the plastic turret. <_<

There is actually a circuit board in the mount.

the guy from toyota service whinced when he saw it.

The boot carpet is $900!!!!

When i first got the stivo i had the seats laid flat and was having a poke in the back and i broke it.

I thought, ah well it was worth it, ill buy a new one... but %^* $900!!!!

These replacement part costs are a joke....
