Hey guys I just picked up my first 4x4 and it’s a 2004 SR5 Hilux. It’s a manual 3.0td and i’m not too sure how to use the 4wd system. The smaller shifter has H-N-L4 on it with a “4wd” button on the side. Is it in h2 while the shifter is in H without the 4wd button pressed in? Also no indicators on cluster of whether it’s in h4 when i press the button but lights up when i put it into L4.

Also not sure if this is how’s it supposed to be since i’ve never driven an old hilux but car seems really slow and down on power and barely pulls itself up a hill with just me in the car. Compared to my dads 2009 prado it seems way to underpowered with no load, so worried it won’t be able to tow anything at all.  Clutch also started to slip on the drive home so that might be it? sorry for the questions, Im not too mechanically minded.
