We've noticed comments from others and have ourselves suffered from the instruments being very poorly illuminated and hard-to-read in many conditions in our 2006 Tarago.

In desperation we tried fitting a piece of white paper, cut to shape, in the flattish plastic area adjacent to and just aft of the instrument display.

The improvement was huge. We can now read the instruments in most conditions.

Yep. I used that hack because the dash was so dark.  It's brilliant and easy.

Newer Taragos have backlit dash day and night so no more need for this hack
