Hey PPL.. Does anyone know how much it costs approx to get a 160k service done on a 95 camry vienta.. mine's an auto and i've heard that the above service is an absolute shocker.. so im hoping to get some facts here..

150,000 service costs me $400... with my mobile mechanic. But if I took it to Toyota, its about $700-800 <_<

I was quoted round about that price by toyota.. Theres a fair bit that needs to be done according to the service book.. most of it consists of replacing filters and changing different fluids.. i reckon its the labour thats the KILLER !! so you think its safe gettin it done elsewhere ?

well....if you know any GOOD/RELIABLE mobile mechanic go and give them a call.

Mobile Mechanic they can do it so much cheaper, and they usualy do the same thing or even better sometimes.

But yeah, if I was in your position...I wouldnt take it to TOYOTA unless you have a major problem with your car.

For 150,000km service, they probably change all your timing belt, all the filters....and i think thats it. $800 for that is WAY too expensive.... So call a mobile mechanic :)

Thats another thing i was pointed out when i went shoppin around for a quote.. The Timing Belt.. According to the service book from toyota it says it doesn't need to be replaced until 200k.. but i was asked if i knew it was done in the past cuz it will probably need doing now.. it looks okay by looking at it.. and now you've mentioned it as well.. so i take it as a part of this service then even though theres no mention about it in the manual

I've the same year Camry (not a vienta though) - if the timing belt hasnt been replaced already then it's a good idea to do it now... mine was replaced at 100,000 so won't need to be done again until the 200,000 mark. I do my minor 5000km services myself wtihout worry, and the major services I take to the Mazda dealer in Wangaratta where I'm from (where mum bought her car - the blokes are great) and they do it pretty cheap - only cost me $200 for my big 150,000 service and it got the works. I guess you've just got to shop around like the people above have suggested...

Don't go to Toyota - they have forgotten that they have older model Camry's and are pretty unprepared to deal with them.. I recently contacted my local dealer regarding wheel specs and they told me they dont have any data for anything "that old" which I thought was pretty pathetic. Just because it's a decade old doesnt mean people still dont require work/info on them! Definitely find out how old the timing belt is though :)
