Hey guys...

Just picked up a AE92 with a AE101 GZE motor out of a frount cut fited. trying to find the stock ignition timing on the net, so i can check and adjust

been told that if you pull back the timing a few points, it stock the engine knocking @ 5K rpm. been told that's why it feels flat, the computer is registering a knock and pulling a huge amount of timing out of the system.

retarding about 3 degress is sposed to give back 10-20kw @ top end

base timing is meant to be 10deg with TE1 and E1 shorted.

With an AE101 GZE you have to run 100ron fuel, no less.

Been running 98 ron, either optimax, of vortex 98, (at a pinch)

was thinking that 100ron optimax wasn't going to be a good idea... due to the ethanol. won't it burn hotter? negating the extra ron rating in heat?

sooo.... base timing is the same for all 4A-G engines then? They are the timing's i've found so far, nothing on the GZE... *shrugg*

Thanx BTW
