my SRI DIY HOME JOB

In Queensland (I just spoke to Qld Transport), any modifications to the intake system as long as you are able to meet the manufacturers specifications for engine emissions and compy to all local emission laws.

When asked if exposed pod filters are illegal, the response was NO as long as you are able to meet the manufacturers specifications for engine emissions and compy to all local emission laws.

Definately different to Sydney.

I have an email from RTA that basically says any modifications to the intake system must compy to all local emission laws and need to be certified by a registered engineer with an engineer certificate.

They supplied a list of engineer contacts to me.

Everyone that I called said exposed air filters in the engine bay cannot be certified by an engineer.

So if the air filter is not exposed it should be alright then?

Since were on the subject of air intake. I'm on a fairly tite budget and the misses takes all the money. :(

I'm interested in purchasing a CAI system. Whats the cheapest CAI available? Will the ones on ebay suffice?

How much did you pay for yours?

Cheers

I scoured the RTA Website and I can not find any reference to modifications of intake systems. THis is the closest I can come up with...

NSW Vehicle Standards Information

I'd be disputing it and asking them to provide some certified documentation. Something other than an email...

cheapest diy air intake.. costs two zip ties..

unclip the box zip tie the filter to the top half.. leave unclipped.. you want response and noise..

did that.. the pod feels more... better... lol

revvyer to the top end.. and it also looks good too...
