Does my 2001 Celica have security system?

Hi guys and guyettes

Newbie here so be gentle.

I have 2001 Celica and the insurance ppl want to know if it has alarm or immobiliser.

Can anyone help me?

It has remote central locking and indicators flash on and off, but there are no other signs of alarm.

Where do I look?

Had new key cut and it starts the car no probs etc.

A quick way to find out if its working is wen u remove ur keys from the ignition and a red blinking light goes on.

Thats found on the bottom right area of the steering well from wat i remember... you cant miss it.

How it works...

im not 100% but i believe it something thats connected from your keys to the engine? So if your keys arnt there you cant start ur car lol (obviously )... but more mainly so ppl cannot "hot wire" your car and stuff like that to get it started.

As i said... not sure about that but thats what i always thought it was

there is a chip inside your key. only when the key is put into the ignition, the immobiliser is disabled so you can start it. This technology is for all new cars.
