Hi all,

my mum had to get her battery changed and since then the headunit is displaying a "SEC" message.

any ideas what the code is or is it something only a dealer can fix? (for a ridiculous amount of money)

any help appreciated

cheers

When you get a new car, you get the user manual and its normally placed in a red coloured (or something similar) plastic type cover which usually has other stuff in it.

Look for a card with a 3 digit pin.

i assume disconnecting hte battery and reconnecting it again would be the same concept.. if so then that's where the problem started :(

the headunit is just asking for your PIN, since the battery was disconnected the anti-theft thing was activated.

below is a scan on those pages in my owners manual.

however, if you have lost the PIN, you will need to go to Toyota to get it fixed up etc.

thanx guys. thanks terry!

Yeh the car is second hand so i think they've misplaced the PIN.

anyhow, toyota wanted $45 and the car for the day to fix it.

i contacted my service manager friend at toyota and they reset it at no cost in 10mins.

all good now :toast:

thanks again

:D
