I love my new 'Rolla, but it's WAY too noisy inside...anyone done any work on sound deadening kits for them ??

Someone said there's a place in Dandy specialising in deadening materials and kits...any clues who they might be ..??

Cheers.

Lighten up a little ganyb. If you noticed I did ask a question

"What part of the stivo exactly is it that you find noisy?"

I asked becauses some don't like tyre noise, or ambient noise like whats going on around the outside of the car, others engine noise. Some can to a certain degree be rectifeid, some can't and others just too expensive.

If you could clarify a little it might be easier for someone to help with a solution! I know a couple people and if I ask the right question I might be able to get an answer, but generally if you don't asked an exact question a large amount of worthless info comes back.

Let me know and I will ask for you.

Cheers mate

sound deadening material is avaliable from a few places, i know strathfield car radios keep it handy for sub setups and trunk noise etc....so you could check ur nearest store..

or even a hardware shop should have similar materials. If you still dont have any luck pm me mate

its a bit costly though, i havent got the price off hand but i know it goes by the metre from memory

hope this helps

and whats with that "aural magic" of the engine comment, ***** someone needs to put the KY away when driving his rolla hahahhaha

Thanks for the info guys. It's all the friggin road noise thats getting to me, tyre roar, transmission rumble and whine, it's as if they forgot to put enough sound deadening in on the production line, just sounds cheap and tinny.

I didn't realise the dealer doesnt get paid by Toyota if he cant actually find a faulty part, and I also see that noise issues are not covered by warranty, it says so in the owners handbook, so it looks like an aftermarket solution, I'll try Strathies tomorrow, just want to get a bit of refinement into it.

Some dude was writing in last weeks Fridays Herald-sun motoring liftout, complaining about the same thing, and the HS response was that it was due to Toyotas poor soundproofing and the general body design of the new Corollas, changing tyres etc wont help.

Cheers again guys...
