Hi there guys after some opinions of what people have used/using with these rims. I'm thinking 235/45/18 and potenzas depending on price looking to spend 250 - 350 per corner.

Going by tyre calculator im guessing each bellow is fine.

225/45R18 Speedometer Difference: 1.315% too fast

235/45R18 Speedometer Difference: 0.037% too slow

So far i have found

Bridgestone Adrenalin Potenza RE001 - 225/45R18

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 - 225/45R18

Pirelli PZero Nero 235/45R18

Kumho pcr ku21 225/45 R18 RF $359.70 235/45R18 $374

It's 225/45R18 95W

Most of the tyres in this size are usually load rated at 95 anyway, but there are some load rated at 91, avoid them.

Do not get run flats, unless you have no spare tyre.

Unless you have already checked the prices, i think the Michelin PS2's are way out of your budget >$400. Unless they've reduced the price due to it being an end of life tyre. They are being superseded by the Michelin PS3.

The RE001's are about $275, the Pirelli's are about the same price.

If you are going Kumho's i'd recommend KU27's. About the same price as the other two.

At this stage im thinking the RE001's $275 seems a great price where abouts is that from? I got a qoute yesterday for $390 fitted and balanced a corner.

My fault, the $275 was for 235/40R18. i'm getting all my prices mixed up. but i think it was closer to $300 as opposed to what you got quoted.

I hope you've read the reviews on the Adrenalins, they tend to wear out quickly. This is the main reason why i didn't get another set.

I went shopping for tyres back in October, so prices could have changed.

But if you are willing to spend that much, you'd might want to consider Dunlops, and Good Years, as they are currently doing "Buy 3 get 1 free" (till the 10th April). Dunlop SP Sport 01 may be a good choice.

Going off the Kumho site KU27's 225/45 R18 XL go for $380 :( But i will check with a tyre shop tomorrow.

I knew the Adrenalins are gonna wear quick but i will read some more reviews they seem to be very popular.

The recommended size for the Kappa 18s on the SX6/ZR6 is 235/45/18... 225/45 will also fit, 235/45 would definetly be the better option and better for corners.

Id recommend the Bridgestone Re001 Tyres, $300 at Bridgestone Tyres (Sydney) they have really good grip in the wet and dry along with better braking.

The other thing is that RE001 only come in 225/45 and 245/45 probably not 235/18.

You can get Bridgestone RE050A in 235/45/18 98/Y

The Problem with Bridgestone Tyre Centres are that most of them have different prices. You may want to call a few stores and get quotes. Then Price match :)

Dunlops and goodyear are made in china/taiwan but still sell for the expensive onshore prices (not sure if they are as good as the Australian rubber)

Here is how your Tyres Measure up

The Kumho website prices are there for decoration. They are definitely priced at about $275 at Tyrepower.

Im abit confused you said the 235/45 would be better option and better cornering but then recommend RE001 that dont come in 235/45 ?

So my choices are

Bridgestone RE050A

Pirelli PZero or PZero nero

Kumho KU27

all in 235/45

I'll be getting a set of 18in Kappa's next week (courier permitting) so I've been doing some digging around on the rubber front - I've found KU31's in 225/45/R18 for $192 in Brisbane, reviews on the KU31's seem pretty good. The local tyre guys wanted $290 for the same tyre so I figure that this is a good deal.
