Well the TRD CAI's have finally arrived for the QLD boys Shaohaok, Stoopid Head and myself. B)
The instructions are well set out with clear pictures. But as with anything there is always something you find you could have done differently or was incorrect being USA-> AUS difference.
So is there anything you guys have come accross that you could pass on?

E - ya I'll be going for a 3 night stop over in Singapore on my way to UK + Europe for a couple months on a holiday.
Might look at some TTE stuff whilst I'm over there
BTW - installed all my new bulbs last night (right hand low beam light and parker near brake lines is a real @#$%&*)....nice and white light now ;) cant wait for the blues though
-
nice long read there to go over whilst eating my bacon, eggs for breaky :D
so it looks like we will be getting the welder out this weekend hey Shao ??? *lol
-
I'll prob pick up some piaa or at least another type of 7500K bulb when I head over to Singapore for my stop over in june ;)
-
$252.00 USD
go to http://www.trdsales.com This is Bruce Sollitt the TRD Asia Pacific Rep, he's a 'REALLY' nice guy and will help you out with anything you need ;)
-
I didnt end up worrying about the piaa bulbs.
Instead I ordered in a full set of PHILIPS Blue Vision Bulbs (H7, HB4 and HB3) all 3 sets came with wedge bulbs aslo for the parking lights. So now all lights including my numberplate lights will be blue vision ;)
Ended up costing $160 for all 3 pair

nice video :)
Shao and I have videos from the dyno run on sat but its in .mqv format (sony video) you can play it in Quicktime though. the sound is a bit off as its low compression but you get to hear the stivo scream.
Anyone interested in this????

I have personally not looked at the new 206 but I did look at the Ford Focus ST170 before I bought the Stivo. Its in the price range that you are looking at. Its a great drive, loverly handling and a good amount of torque. If you are not put off by the shape then I recommend you take one for a spin.
it is screaming for a turbo though
-
E mine are all the same also
something is afoot here mate
-
Well here it is my DYNO reading for the Stivo.
http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/gallery/au...ay_5_April_2004
I am very pleased with the result. 102.5kW @ the wheels in a room with the air temp at 33 Deg C on a 100% stock standard engine. :D
Shaohaok was at hand so we put his beast up for a spin also.
EXACTLY the same results :), even with TRD air filter and after market exhaust the power output was the same. The only difference was the Air/Fuel Ratio which was showing Shao's to run a bit richer up untill the 6K mark then it jumped back into line with mine. So its more fuel efficent for him to run around all day in 'lift' :P

I'm getting a black Toyota badge for the Stivo from the Camry, its the same size.
Dealer is giving it to me as they took it off someones car for them, so it goes stright onto mine ;) Tis the only badge on me car :)
-
2nd Blade Hunter - Use a good cleaning product and news paper or paper towel. I have found the Castrol Glass Cleaner to work a treat also.
-
did you send them COD ???? or did you pay for it?
-
Bring it on Danthuyer... Bring it on. Mate this will be fun.
In 12 months time the old Ford versus Holden articles from the press will have been replaced by the Qld stivo versus Vic Stivo mayhem that will have gripped the country.
I can see the movie trilogy now... "The Fast & the Faster"
Best of luck mate.
Cheers
PS. The first Stivo to 200kw wins.
Ilivfor6 - hahahahahahaha bring on the rice burner wars :P
Cheers mate, nothing like a bit of interstate rivalry.
200Kw's hey!!!???¿¿¿ - I'll see what I can do (*scratches head)
Zee - will post the stock dyno for you ;)
Stoopid - I'll be there for a little bit, we are also looking at the new speakers and door mods whilst im there, just call me and let me know what your doing
-
Ilivfor6 - Peekay and yourself might be having some competition from us QLD boys soon ;) hence the baseline dyno Saturday before 'anything' gets done.
-
point noted and taken - i didnt even think of that <_< Well done peekay

-
Well the white rocket is going in for its baseline DYNO reading this Saturday morning at 10.00 am.
Lets see who can guess the 'stock' reading that I will end up with????
187.4 HP (139.7 Kw's) <- my guess @ flywheel
anyone know what the flywheel -> wheel conversion rate is??
Cheers :D

TRD CAI - $470 (some work is needed for install)
UniChip - $1200 (i think, peekay would be able to confirm)
-
Exec - Long time no see mate.
Sooooo sorry to hear about your Big Bang!! Hope it doesnt hit the hip pocket too much :(

After I got the sports grill put on i didnt like the fact that you could see one of the horns through the grill.
I finally got off my butt this weekend and moved it. I ended up placing it with the second horn below the grill. All that needed to be done was to change the angle of the mounting arm so that the wires were not hitting the front bar.

Thought some of you might like this, as I know it annoyed me.
Cheers :D
