  1. I'll have to wait and see it in the metal i think. Carsales has a brief item about it in their news section. November seems to be right but Toyota oz won't confirm this is what we are getting. To me the Levin ZR should have LED tail lights and mirror indicators to keep up with the competition. IF it comes out with these and 5 spd auto and better power and economy then i'll likely be buying one in January when the import duty drops by 5%. They will maybe even adjust the price downwards for the aussie dollar too.... 10 weeks to go....
  2. Is the brightness dial (right hand side of ignition) turned all the way clockwise so the pic of the bulb is upright?
  3. Yeah. It's mainly a US feature. They look more amber than your headlights simply because when you run a halogen bulb at low power, it tends to go towards a yellow colour. The only cars in Australia that I can ever recall having DRL are the old school Volvo's. I think the concept behind it is that you will always be seen when you have them on. I kind of find it pointless in my opinion. I don't know why they still have it in the States. I'm pretty sure the impreza has had DRL for a number of years in oz, not sure about the current model. As to using fog lights at night when there is no fog... blinding oncoming drivers isn't a really smart thing to do. Of course they're not likely to hit the offender but the possible numerous hazards that a half blinded driver just won't see for the next few seconds (try counting for yourself next time it happens to you). Unfortunately fog lights have become fashionable to have on at night and more and more new cars have them. Just my 2 cents.
  4. There is no safety pack with the conquest. It is equiped standard with VSC, TRC and 7 airbags. The Levin SX is the same price but swaps the safety gear for body kit. Safety pack with optitron is $1500. So if you spend an extra $1500 for the Levin SX (with safety pack) you get a body kit and optitron combimeter. Pretty good for the money IMO.
  5. I think it's a no brainer. An extra $1500 for the safety pack and optitron. Well worth the price and you can't get that on the conquest! Of course T are just giving people that little bit more incentive to update their non VSC 12 month old corolla to a 2009. Might just work with some people.
  6. Just received this... Yes the stability control models are currently in production and we hope to see them Jan/feb will keep you updated Kind Regards WAYNE THOMSON SALES CONSULTANT Downtown Toyota
  7. Thanks for the video BIG DEE. That's a cool song, sounds a bit like Esthero? Found the music video... what does the little girl put in the guys drink? a bit disturbing.... http://www.getalyric.com/mp3/lyrics/songs/...breathe-182621/
  8. Slim chance of an auto i suppose. I'd take a DSG style but i guess that's dreamin' too.
  9. I like the gauge colour in the fielder better than the white ones we get. http://gazoo.com/NewCar/VehicleInfo/Catalo...=18&cd=330A
  10. Hmm.. cool site. Landing on all four? Wonder if that is the Blade 4wd? Ninja kittens. On you tube... see link http://www.caradvice.com.au/18611/toyota-c...h-a-lil-action/
  11. So the Levin ZR has an alarm? I had read that in a description somewhere. Is it standard or an option? What does it do/how is it integrated?
  12. I'd wait (and actually am) a couple more weeks and see what is happening with corolla for 09. I'm betting VSC and TC will be available and the yaris is getting LED tail lights so maybe just maybe the corolla will too? Wouldn't that be nice? Cruise control on the steering wheel and maybe a little bit more punch would make the corolla the perfect car IMHO. Disappointment or a big fat smile awaits me in the coming month or 2. Come on Toyota! Ask yourself - which would your missus prefer?
  13. In the Levin SX hatch thread pinzvidz stated - Stability will be available December production onwards. 6 speed gearbox will have revised ratios with the production change as well. Don't know his source so who knows. Toyota hadn't forseen the demand for VSC when the planning was done 4 years + ago for the 150's series. VSC was supposedly added but delayed because they didn't have it ready/calibrated for aussie roads and didn't want to get it wrong by dropping in european or us version. Could be marketing but i'm sure it's hurt them a bit when all the competition has had it available on most models in the mean time. We aussies sure get shafted though. 4sp auto v 6sp in US, cruise control on a stalk v on the steering wheel in US (come on, how hard is that!!!) Now the aussie dollar has taken a dive off a cliff, expect the shafting to continue.....
  14. Cool!!!! Where did you get the info? AIM Show starts tomorrow so i've been scouring the net for pre info regarding corolla but found nothing. If that's true then I'll wait and save up and get my GT4 ready for sale and enjoy it for a bit longer. (I hope nothing major breaks til then..)
  15. I'm looking at buying a Levin ZR silver very soon (waiting for stability control - maybe i should give up). Was going to go round a heap of dealers like you did or go to a broker... So your car is a Manual? When did you purchase? I haven't decided on Auto or Manual though i've been leaning towards auto until reading a few recent posts about them being a bit 'chuggy' when half loaded. Of course the orginal reviews when they first came out said the 6sp was always having to change gears, and 2800rpm at 100km in 6th is a lot strange.
