  1. This is what my car looks like.... I don't like the position of the black hose dangling quite low without the piece of plastic protecting it - I could easily run over something and damage it!! BTW, does anyone know what that hose is for?
  2. That's great Dave, thanks again for your time in posting the pics. There's definitely a piece of plastic missing that is attached to the underside of the spoiler.
  3. Thanks heaps Dave I really appreciate you taking the time to post the pics. :)
  4. Thanks SecaBoy will PM supatouring if I don't get any responses in the next couple of days. Enjoy your overseas trip. :)
  5. Yeah, I just picked it up today, however, there was a bit of minor damage to the front bumper and the dealer has repaired it. After getting home I took a closer look at the repairs and it looks like there is a piece missing but I cannot tell without comparing it to an intact TRD.
  6. I need a really BIG favour from a TRD owner to take some photos of the underside of the TRD front spoiler. I wanted to see how the spoiler is attached to the rest of the car and if possible take a wide angle shot that shows the whole underside of the front spoiler. Thanks in advance.... :)
  7. That looks brilliant I don't think I have the patience or skill to do this type of stuff - i'm all thumbs... :(
  8. That's very reassuring to know... :) Yeah, I wasn't expecting to buy at the time - just rocked up to check out the car and one thing lead to another and I was given an offer I cannot refuse. :D The wife wasn't that happy though... We are currently thinking of building a new house and I really should not have spent that money.... :P Based on SecaBoy and EC11WA's experiences, the TRD and the Aurion in particular can be as economical as you want it to be depending on your mood at the time and whether you're doing any stop-start driving. The flexibility is there to drive like a Granny or the Stig if you want to save fuel or have some fun!!
  9. I would have been very happy with your ZR6 with all the mods. :) I was in a perfect position to swap over to the TRD as my Presara was virtually stock except for a few minor additions such as spoiler, towbar, slimline weather shield and tint. Although the Presara is an excellent car, however, it was lacking something in the looks department and the TRD was the perfect replacement car for a change from "Luxury" to "Sport". :P
  10. For sure... First cabs off the rank are HID conversion and SatNav HU... :P Edit: And tints as well....
  11. I too was dreading the extra running costs for the TRD, however, that negative thought went away when I think about how hot the TRD looked as compared to the Preasra :D :D
  12. How much did you trade in for If u don't mind Im asking? Had the thoughts of upgrading it too but now it's 2 late with all the mods that's been done. I got $30K for the Presara and I paid $35K for the TRD. The TRD was built in late 2007 and first registered in March 2008, so the TRD still have 1 year NCW with Toyota Service Advantage. B) B) I paid $2K for another 3 years bumper to bumper new car warranty just in case something goes wrong . I have monitored the car first advertised for $46K :( down to $43K, $40K, $38K and then finally down to $35K :P over the last 3 months - I was very lucky to pick it up for $5K change over. With the money saved I thought I'll spend it on the extended factory warranty for added insurance.
  13. Traded in my 2007 Presara for a 2007 TRD 3500SL build number 0493. Picking it up next week as the dealer is fixing up a few scratches and doing the 30,000km service. I am also having a factory towbar fitted at the same time. It's a silver one instead of black (my preferred colour), however, I think I can tolerate the silver.... :P :P :P
  14. Sorry to bring up an old thread.... :( Just traded in my Presara for a TRD 3500SL and picking it up next week.... :P :P Anybody got a TRD with a tow bar? Pics please if you've got one. Thanks.
  15. Looking at the pictures that you have uploaded, it seems that your current position was not determined by the GPS but by other sensors in the car as mentioned by Steven. If your current position was determined by GPS, it would say so by displaying "GPS" underneath the compass and "11K" on the top left hand corner of the screen (assuming your car was outdoors and not in a tunnel or a basement carpark when those pictures were taken). As suggested by Steven, I would be checking the GPS antenna connection.... Hope you resolve the issue soon. :)
  16. If it's any consolation I too had a blowfly in my dash behind the perspex window for years in my previous car. It used to drive me nuts until I learned to ignore it. We had the car for 15 years and the blowfly was still there when we sold the car! BTW, I'm like you and wasn't confident enough to take the dash apart to remove the blowfly.... plus we didn't have the internet and forums like this back then so I was on my own with no one to ask for help! Give your blowfly a pet name and adopt him like we did with our blowie...
  17. Paradigm - thanks and I'll take your advice and use them to improve the bonding. If it doesn't work or causes me any grief I can always take it back to the dealer and ask them to fix it as they gave me the primer sticks with the weathershields....
  18. From reading the installation instructions and the listed package contents, the wipes and primer sticks are not listed. And based on the instructions, it only said to wipe the mounting areas with a clean cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol and no mention of wipes or primer sticks! I haven't installed them yet and not sure whether to use the primer sticks as they are not mentioned in the instructions.... Could have an adverse chemical reaction with the double sided tape on the weathershield....
  19. This is a copy of the installlation instructions for the Slimline Weathershield..... Slimline_Weathershield_Installation_Instructions.PDF
  20. I picked up a set of the slimline weathershields today and I am still not sure whether the kit comes with the primer. When I picked up the weathershields, I asked the guy at the counter to check whether there is any primer inside the package and he couldn't find any - since he told me over the phone that the package included the primer, he went into the office and got me some wipes and primer sticks that he said were leftovers from previous installations of weathershields. So the best option is to check the package first before leaving the spare parts department. I have included photos of the wipes and primer sticks for reference.
  21. Thanks for the quick reply... I can now say I am doing my bit for the environment by setting the temp to 24 deg instead of 20 deg... I guess this does not apply to cars without climate control and for those cars, the compressor will always be engaged and put a load on the engine whenever the a/c button is pressed..... :(
  22. A question about climate control air cond and fuel consumption that has been bugging me for a while..... Does the climate control system shut down the compressor if the desired cabin temperature has been reached and hence use less fuel or does the compressor stay on all the time regardless whether the set cabin temperature has been reached or otherwise?
  23. Called the dealer and confirmed that the slimline weathershield kit includes the stick of primer/adhesive. :)
  24. Thanks Paradigm for describing the primer - I can now call and ask them whether the slimline weathershield package contains the primer "stick".
