  1. I must say, I know what a lemon of a car is after my 'saga' with my old Corolla Levin ZR. (We won't go there haha)... Anywho my ZR6 Aurion's had a pretty good run, just a few small issues. - Centre Console Came Loose - Refitted as the clips that hold it in snapped. - VVT-i Oil Line - Recall Replacement. - Dash Rattle - Replaced no hassles. - Boot Leaking (Water in Spare Wheel section and Jack section.) - Repaired (3 times) due to Grommet's being removed and not put back properly when the tow bar guys fitted my tow bar. :P That's all for me so far, hopefully for ever but you never know heh. I must say Melton Toyota have been exceptionally great for the few years I've been a customer with them. Definately will buy another Toyota through them! (I'm that popular there because of the Corolla issue saga that I'm now known by first name to everyone there! Haha!) Great team, great servie, great place to be. :)
  2. Not sure as of yet... December is too busy for me to do anything really! I will try though. Basically if you see me, good. If you don't, no good. :(
  3. I checked over the new VVTi Oil Line that was installed on recall by my dealer to see if it was the good one. Looks like it is thank goodness. :) (I hope I was looking at the right one haha.) Also gave it a wash because it needed it. I reckon i'll call the exhaust place to get a new Y pipe done now that someones decided to do it before me. :P
  4. Standard Aurions are around 192hp at the wheels but 200Kw at the engine, so there is probably slightly less loss through the drive trains due to them being front wheel drive. You'd be surprised at how much loss there is despite it being a FWD. If a stock Aurion was 192hp, that is 143 kW at the wheels. That's more along what SupaTouring was saying. Anyways, you now have one thing left.... and that is the 1/4 mile. This will show if changing the power/torque curve has made things better or worse. Maximum power is all well and good, but it all depends where it is. I was a little confused to see the rpm curve on that dyno run sheet. It seems the peak powers just shy of 4000rpm. Surely thatsnot right?
  5. I had my Aurion go back in for a leaky boot again (thats another story though) but I noticed on my job sheet that the VVT-i Oil Line was replaced under Recall Warranty. It has stuff to do with Recall codes etc on my job sheet, recall date of 9/11/09 and parts came in stock on 1/12/09. So they only just started a 'recall' now? Either way mines done now which I'm happy about. I wouldnt have been suprised if the hose were to rupture sooner thanks to my 'more than spirited' driving style.
  6. If you are going to change the stock manifold and do not intend to run the triple cat set-up (two off the manifold, 1 on the main pipe) you will have problems with the check engine light. However I have read a few articles lately on the net about tricking the post cat O2 sensors into thinking they are recieving the correct signal by using diodes on the O2 sensors electrical looms. Just do some google searches for more info. The post cat O2 sensors on the Toyota only fine tune the fuel mixture by a maixmum of 2% to maximise the catalytic efficiency. I believe there would be sufficient room for a full twin system but would recommend using the standard Manifolds with the Cats incorporated and running two high flow cats further down the line to gaurentee you will not have the check engine light issue. Good luck. Yeah I've been tossing up that idea aswell. The only reason why I wanted to go off stock manifolds is the pipe distance issue that was talked about earlier. If I can somehow get it to the same pipe length for both peices and not have any drastic bending in the pipe, I should be ok. Another thing I was concerned about was fitting two cats side by side on the twin pipes down the middle of the car. If room there is ok then i should be fine to go ahead. Who knows...
  7. I am very interested to see the results for this, as the OP states that the drone from the exhaust seems to have disappeared almost entirely from just changing the Y peice. If this is the case, holy cow. On a side note and regarding twin pipe setups. I have been speaking with the guys at A1 Exhausts in Sunbury here and if I can muster up the courage to do it... We WILL attempt a complete twin pipe setup, this is including a replacement manifold aswell. Twin setup all the way to the back. Not sure on space requirements etc, but we'll see... :P Good stuff on this though either way! Who knows, I might just do this if it's gonna be a good help.
  8. Yeah I'm with Tash at the moment. Not sure how I'm going with my weekends for December, I know next weekends out but i'm unsure of the following weekend. Plus my car's going to be in peices for alot of weekends coming while Project "This better work" is under way. :P I'll let you know what happens! :D
  9. We will get pics soon! :( I'm gutted I couldn't go but I was flat out this weekend... (Actually I was hanging out with my mates who own an Exhaust place, at the shop. We had the Aurion up on the hoist for like 5 hours that night while we poked around trying to design some sort of replacement manifold to accomodate for the new exhaust.) :o
  10. I'd love to go but work commitments are now really throwing my schedule out of the window. :( So I can't make it. Sorry guys. (Small update on my Aurion btw: I had the front strut bar removed (the lower one) due to the fact it was knocking against the exhaust and after the incident with the huge **** rock on the road, deformed it pretty bad! So it's gone now and while the car isn't as flat as it used to be, it is more controllable.) Hope you guys have a great time!
  11. williamstown or newport mate, good burbs... willi is very nice! Yeah and williamstown is easy for me to get to, especially if i'm workin late :) I'll be interested if im not working TOO late :)
  12. Man I gotta come to QLD soon! JUST to see this... It's like the ultimate battle, who is the fastest? haha... I wonder if i have time off work soon haha.
  13. All my friends call my Aurion the "TofuTaxi" The name has kinda stuck now, so i've left it at that :)
  14. Teasers!? Teasers!?!?!?! This is obsurd! Also I have no idea why I was so far back on that photo. :P
  15. I was trolling this thread all day at work yesterday, hoping dwee and vinh would put more pictures up haha.
  16. Also another nice thing to hear from the guys was the sound of my supercat mufflers on the back of the Aurion. In the car you only hear some sound then the engine takes over and all you hear is engine till redline. But apparently its nice from the back hahaha.
  17. Really enjoyed today! Was a blast! Was a great 'leisurely' cruise with some small faster pace bits which was great. (Except nearly falling off a cliff when my hand slipped off the steering wheel, good one.) But yeah either way, the food was nice at the Grand Hotel aswell! Really good day. Thanks to Tash for organising such a great time. :) MORE PHOTOS! :o
  18. I just woke up. It's 8:45AM hahaha! It'll take me about 40 minutes to get there so I'll be leaving in 10 minutes or so, maybe 20. Now I have 4 walkie talkie radio things so 4 of us can use them, its apparent I have them returned before the conclusion of our epic cruise. :P See you there!
  19. Bugger 1stKill. :( Get better man. So who's actually going now. The driverlist hasnt been updated recently and I was a bit confused as to who was going or what haha.
  20. Well I pre-washed the car today. (I washed it today, and ill wash it Saturday and prolly Sunday too haha...) It really needed it heh. I am also looking to obtain 4 walkie-talkies which should be fine for a couple of cars to use. I'll let you know how it goes.
  21. The weather isnt looking too goo unfortunately but that isn't stopping me from going!
  22. Yeah it's definately exhaust related by the sounds of it, the bars perfectly fine. It looks like we need ot modify the exhaust if i want to keep the stabiliser bars there. It only happens under full throttle acceleration (so its relative to the engine turning under torque). either way... not long to go now guys! can't wait! :D
  23. I must say I feel really lucky not to experience this issue yet. Although I do have one issue that I notice on my day to day driving. I notice this when I'm driving in my underground carpark at work. Doing about 10km/h I'm turning down the ramp and from the right drivers side around the wheel you hear this very fast paced knocking, but it doesnt feel like the knocking described here. It's more of a really fast clunkish sound, hard to explain in words. I wouldn't be suprised if this IS what you guys are talking about. It rather confused me throughout the entire thread haha.
  24. Not sure yet. I came up about august last year to visit a mate. I might try for jan or feb, depending. :P
  25. I tell you what... I'm damn well tempted to buy one of these for a OMFG fun car. When I come up to Queensland next, I am so meeting all the QLD guys and getting a ride in that car. :P hahahaha.
