  2. Not according to Morpheus ............. :) I wish I had a samurai sword right now.
  3. I think I like number 4... Yeah, we sorta did that, but we just hit the HWY as it seemed more 'safer'
  4. I can't really do that, because from the back, I need to cut the wires which I didn't do. we just trimed the protective sheet, and put the Live Level Converter. Still, the older model Corolla's helped a lot. hope this reply isnt too late for what u need... hopefully i can help u LHR: black+ yellow- RHR: red+ white- LHF: pink+ purple- RHF: light green+ light blue- LOl, Nikko thanks for this reply. However I already got my job done :) Thanks once again, for at least helping... check my headlight thread? I'm still in need of help... I don't trust that pulling the old bulbs out and fitting Xenon ones in will work...
  5. Hey All, Okay I know this is probably not the perfect place to put it, but today, me and a mate were at a Maccas and these 5 people, in a P plate car, gave us the finger, so being us, we gave chase, and chased them down the street, then after about 20 minutes of chasing them, some MERC A Class pulls out, and chases US, pulling out knifes and screaming "PULL THE F$%^ OVER" and well, the MERC driver + 2 passenger, were pretty serious, they like 'faked' swerves into my Corolla (Obviously, I don't mind crashing mine as mine would be significantly cheaper & is worth lesser value than theirs) so I just held my line, doing around 100K'M on a 60K stretch of road. So we hit the HWY, trying to drive to a territory with our crew in it, and well, on the HWY they drove off... And well, I'm wondering, what would you do in our situation? - I know this is so stupid and childish, but I'm 18 & am still learning the hardway. - Please don't suggest call the cops... Because I'm pretty sure we would get owned too...
  6. Wait does this mean I just pull out my old bulbs and put the new XENON 5000K in? Or is there still something I'm missing? you replaces your standard halogen globe with the new xenon globe and the ballast simply plugs into the original plug for the headlight loom. if you purchase a kit it will come with easy to follow instructions Thanks :) I feel happy, I don't need to pay for installation, it sounds so DAMN easy :)

  8. Nah, I don't want those, I want my car to still look normal, I just want Xenon, for the looks :) I'm too young to have expensive stuff. Anyway, any idea what the casing size is? hey mate, i have just upgraded my stock globes to hid xenons. very easy mod, jus make sure u mount the ballasts in a secure location. the globe size you need is h11. look at the difference between the stock lights and the hid... Okay, Nikko, could you please help us out here, I don't know what I'm REALLY meant to do. Do I just pull out my old head lights? Do you MAYBE have a step by step guide? don't forget it's a 2008 Corolla Sedan, is H11 the size?
  9. Nah, I don't want those, I want my car to still look normal, I just want Xenon, for the looks :) I'm too young to have expensive stuff. Anyway, any idea what the casing size is?
  10. Does this apply to 2008 Sedan Ascent? I donnu whats going on...
  11. I can't really do that, because from the back, I need to cut the wires which I didn't do. we just trimed the protective sheet, and put the Live Level Converter. Still, the older model Corolla's helped a lot.
  12. I did look in my manual I even went to Toyota (Le Manz) & asked, they said "Sorry, we can't give you that information, otherwise something might go wrong and you blow up or something" I later replied with "If I don't get this information I'm definitely gonna blow myself up because I don't know what is what, that's why I need some info on whats what NOW, so I'm safe" then the guy replied with "Nah, we just can't give that out sorry" So this leads me to asking the forums.
  13. Hey All, So after I just finished my sound system, I've now moved to my headlights, I wanna throw in some HID Xenon 4000k OR 5000k (Which ever is THE MOST WHITEST), however I do not know the size of the bulb socket, nor do I know how to install these lights. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Preferably shed some Xenon light on me PLEASE! :) Also, since my Corolla is STOCK, DO I HAVE TO MOD my front headlights? I would like them to point up a bit more, as right now, they seem a bit to low... (Yes, I've set the angle of the lights to zero passenger, but its still too low, I can't see S%$^)
  14. Aye :) I just did the wiring with my mate, and well it turns out the wiring is the same from 1987 till now... how weird...
  15. Okay, everyone, I need help ASAP. But does anyone know what the wiring is for the stock headunit? I need this as I'm adding a Line Level Converter & I DO NOT KNOW which wire is which, I need front left +, front left -, front right +, front left - & remote... anyone know these? Please help ASAP.
  16. I guess it's just the driver that sucks...
  17. The service manuals will contain the Electrical Wiring Diagrams, but the hard part is finding one available online. If you did choose to go this option, you would have to make sure you can find an Australian version as the wiring can differ from country to country. It's always safer to test these out with a multimeter to prevent breaking something. As far as I'm aware, the service manuals for the new generation Australian Corolla aren't yet uploaded online. If worst comes to worst, you can always tap into the front or rear speakers at the actual speakers themselves. I think I'll do this option instead, however I noticed that the wiring for the rear speakers is like, metal or something? I can't actually find the copper wiring in them... Also, if I did this to one of my rear speakers, wouldn't the speaker be weak?
  18. There is a common colour code out there in relation to car audio wiring. Some line out converters follow this, some don't. Regardless, nearly ALL car manufactures don't follow any international standard and therefore the line out converter will not match, even if it does use the standard colour code. You need to find out what wires are for which speakers first. Is there a 2008 Corolla Headunit manual for the wiring?
  19. If you don't get wire taps, then all you do is simply pull back some insulation on the speaker wires going to the head unit, then solder in the wires from the line out converter. Quite simple in that regard. Wire taps are easier though for most people. You find those at Repco and hte likes. As for the wire colours, if you don't want to search for them yourself (a multimeter and 1.5v battery are useful at doing this), then you will need someone else who knows the wiring on the Corolla. I'm looking at some line converters, and they come with colour wires too, don't I just put orange with orange, and red with red? or is that wrong too?
  20. Um... the whole purpose of getting the line out converter is because you DON'T have a subwoofer output on your head unit. You will be using the line out converter to 'mirror' either your front or rear speakers and convert them into RCA connections that are compatible with your amplifier, then you will run the RCA leads to your amp an set the Low Pass Filter so that it will only play your bass. I see, so which wires behind the headunit is the rear speakers? Because I think I'm just gonna strip the wiring on the Converter, and plug it into the same wires... or I am very lost... Honestly, is anyone in Melbourne who can help me? This is my VERY first time even touching a car's headunit.
  21. For your subwoofer setup you just need a basic line out converter. They come in a two-channel form. You simply connect two wires in parallel with one speaker, and two wires parallel with another. Front or rear; whichever one you use more on the fader control. From the line out converter to the amp, you simply run RCA leads. Hold on, how do I know which one is the sub cable? Because I remember looking at the back of my headunit, it just has a **** load of rainbow colours...
  22. Well, the wearing seems to be more worse on the Front Left. And how come my parents Lancer, the wear seems completely not there? Like, the tyre seems still brand new?
  23. As in you just 'tap' off from the speaker wires. The best way to think of it is with a good 'ol parallel vs series diagram: The diagram on the left is series, and the one on the right is parallel. Just think of your speaker as one bulb and the line converter as the other. Crap, does that mean I have to buy 4 line converters? one for each of the speakers? --" crap. I thought it would be easier than that... BTW, all I need is to make the line converter just from the headunit, to the amp... how do I do that? and thank you for your help, much appriciated.
  24. Well if want a sealed enclosure and am not after anything that has been perfectly tuned, then you can pick up a box at Autobarn or the likes. In most cases, no. The converter is installed parallel so simple wire taps would do, otherwise you can do what I did and mount it in the boot and solder the wires directly to the speaker terminals of the rear speakers... if you have speakers on your parcel shelf. What do you mean parallel? Like, If I buy the converter from Jaycar, how do i 'parallel' it? Obviiusly I know I gotta pull the headunit out, so i can do something... but i'm kinda lost now...
  25. Hey all, was just wondering if it's just me or if it's other people experiencing this problem... Today I checked my front tyres and well, they seemed significantly worn out compared to my parents Lancer (I know you probably think I'm hooning it...) but I ask my mate's dad who works at Toyota, he said it's frequent for the latest model corolla's as it's more heavier, and well more strain on the front... I just wanted to know if what he said was true, or is it because I probably drive A BIT reckless? (Trust me, my reckless driving is like... once every month, only when I have one mate or if I'm in a hurry, I STILL WANT TO KEEP MY LICENCE) Cars about 1Year & 1Month old.
