  1. Hey all, If someone can reply quick, is there a way to reset my ECU without disconnecting the battery? Like a fuse somewhere? (I'm unsure of which one to look for, please note me on that) & how do I 100% KNOW that the ECU has been reset?
  2. But on that website, it say's I can go UPTO 235! Diameter Difference: 1.51% 235/50R16 Does that mean these tires are fine? Thats a 20mm increase... I do not want to change my profile, as I found 50 to be very helpful in my 'trackday', as it seems to be able to hold the car to the ground more during the corners... & gives me a way better predictable corner... Do people think this size is a smart idea?

  4. Hey All, Just a quick one, I currently have 205/55/16 Was just wondering what would happen if I put 215/50/16 or 225/45/16 Would I need to re-calibrate my speedo? Will this have a higher chance of a blowout? What consequences will I face with the change in tire sizes? Also, if I was to drive, what difference will it do? Would the change in width, make me have greater grip?
  5. nice yeh the 2zz is gr8 on fuel.. was averaging about 650kms but with the addition of a cold air feed it got bumped up to 650-700 :D WTF MAN? thats insane fuel efficiency for the sportivo, u must drive on freeway like 95%-99% of the time, drive out of driveway then on freeway, go home off freeway, into house lol i'm hit 700 once on the freeway from melbourne to sydney... i reckon it would have been abit more since i averaged 6.3L/100km pure freeway driving Phew though I wasn't the only one, On the Ascent, I made it from Melbourne (West Side) all the way to Orange in NSW, with 1 FULL tank of petrol, mind you I will NEVER EVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE try it again, I remember about... 70 Maybe 100KM out from Orange my light went on, so I did everything I could to conserve fuel, wind windows up, turn air con off, turn radio off, turn highbeam off, bloody hell, I swear the reserve fuel tank is quite big IMO, but I swear, my car must've hated me for life after that... - About 750km to orange... AVG didn't even think to check it --" Mind you, I was mostly sitting on 120KM the entireway,
  6. I'm kinda jealous of all you people who get to use LIFT... The closest I ever got to LIFT is V-Tec :( the ZRE is my first ever Toyota in the entire family!
  7. Always been 91 Unleaded... I also noticed something different in my parents car & mine... When I JUST drove my parents car, it sounds more beefier, and seems to go faster than the conquest? I don't understand, plus the conquest has a pussy sounding whine of some sort... Conquest = Mine, Ascent = Parents.
  8. is that yor auto??? Nope, both car's are Manuel, BTW today I filled the Conquest, got 44Litres MAX, with the petrol flowing back out a bit, and I got 445KM on the range. This time I had 38 maybe 40KM on the range left...
  9. When cruising, I leave 5th as the cruise gear, because it's running near the 3K REV. Mine is usually as follows: 1st: 10-20KM 2nd: 21-40KM 3rd: 40-50???KM 4th: 51-60KM 5th: held till when it is necessary, so 60-80KM? 6th: used sparingly, on highways - 80-Beyond... However at the track, 1st - 5000RPM? 2nd-5500 (Or near there) RPM 3RD (if I ever get to third would be maybe 6000RPM 4th (never got this high, on the calder race track... 5th: - 6th: -

Mind you the Ascent was my parents 08 car, and my local mechanic's said that, the fuel from before the first 1000km's tries to AVG out your usage, so my parents drive very very... umm, slower than grandparents, so I assume it AVG their driving... and I'm not joking it was between 700-800KM's, yellow light at around 30-35ish, and drove till about 2KM's on the range, then the car wouldn't be a car anymore, but turned into just a piece of 20K metal... My conquest from Last year, which is BRAND NEW & in the first 1000KM's was driven slower than my parents, still says 350-420... I have no idea... I haven't checked the build date on my parents car, I just assumed it was an 08 since it was bought before MAY in 2008...
  11. Okay, the YELLOW light in the 08 Ascent turns on at about 35KMs... I remember when I had the Conquest BRAND NEW, I hit liek 10KM, WITHOUT a single Yellow light, I do know there is a yellow light, because when the sun reflect's it shows the LED light, in the background... I just need a little help figuring out how to really fix this! BTW< how much is the reserve tank? & how many KM's can I go without killing the car?
  12. Hey All, Today I just put excatly 48.84 Litres into my tank, and I COULD SEE the fuel almost coming out of the tank! Mind you on the computer it said I only had 42KM's left on the range. When I got back into the car I only got 400KM's for my range? On my 08 Ascent if I did a full tank, it would say between 700-800KM's range. but now in my 09 Conquest, it only goes to 400KM's... HOW do I fix this?

Just wondering, since I do not wan't to put a subwoofer in my car, as one day I may have to change wheels, and can't be bothered, with taking the sub out just to get to the wheel, is there any cheap alternative's to the stock audio in the car? I assume the front's are 6' and teh rears are 6x9's, the tweeter that comes with the car are IMO quite good, seeing as they really kill my ears, when I made my headunit only push out freq's above 8000K...
  14. Hey All, Just wondering what are the spec's on the Stock Corolla's Audio System? I have found that the low freq's are quite good, however, if I bump the volume up on the aftermarket headunit a bit high, the low's turn into farting low's... and kinda suck... I just wanted to know what is the brand of these speakers, and what are the specification's on these?

Hey All, I've currently got my amp running at roughly about 11v, which I quickly stopped using, as 11v is too low to be safe, so I was just wondering, where in Melbourne can I get a HighOutput Alternator? I have no intentions on adding a second battery, as the 08 Corolla is already small as it is, I need space. Thanks All.
  16. Hey, this happened to me quite a few times, back with the old headunit. I usually just leave my car off for like a minute or two, then it will eject when I press eject. I never got around to asking forum's about this, because I usually just waited for the car to be nice to me.
  17. Spotted, an Aurion (I think it was black) you where doing AT LEAST! 130+KM/h outbound from West Gate Bridge... We were side by side at one stage, but I couldn't see inside... I went onto Western Ring, you kept in the far Right Lane and zoomed straight to the Princess Freeway... Around 11-11:30PM I'm the Red P Plater, that over took you at one stage because you were stuck behind a car doing the limit (80KM/h)...

I know there's a Honda in the middle, but that's iDK crew car can't kill the Honda... The other Corolla Hatch, is my mates, he isn't on this forum. & plus, it could probably get edited out right?

Plate number was 'ECOECO', not sure if on this forum, but saw ya fly past me on the entrance to West Gate Bridge, you got off at Williamstown Road at 2:14AM-2:20AM you took a Left turn at Francis Street, I was behind you, trying to floor it. You drive so damn quick... I was the Red P Plater, behind you almost the whole time, I turned off at Hyde Street :) I hooned it down that street... but couldn't see your car in the passing streets...
  21. I'm not sure if it's flat shifting, because I fully disengage the Accel, then QUICKLY, stomp on the clutch... don't forget, I cna make this noise at almost any revs, just it's weaker the lower the revs, and louder the higher the revs.
  22. Thats the problem its your driving style I think, the thump you are hearing is when your drive train loads up... I could be wrong though.... Its like flat shifting, you will hear that bump, or wheelspin :D Humm, their is no wheelspin though...

Hey all, I get a loud THUMP, when driving the car hard, normally if I press the clutch quick, there is a THUMP noise, and shifting into 2nd is like... weightless, 2nd to 3rd makes that same noise, just a very very faint thump... I was just wondering, if this thump is really bad? Normally, only happens louder near the Peak Torque range (4400-5000) but I can still reproduce the same thumping at nearly any REV range, in 1st gear. I'm assuming, it's because I'm pushing in the clutch to quickly, and to strong... If you need a video of what I mean, please ask. edit: happens in either, a cold engine or hot engine, as stated above I can reproduce this noise, at any REV, and well any time I'm guessing... the engine is 100% stock, the car is 100% standard.
  25. I wonder too, I think it's because I'm NOT THAT reckless, I just cause others to have fail's... well try to do that... & I'm always out during the hours where everyone is sleeping, so less chance of crashing into another car.
