  1. 1 - Always a good idea to change the rear main seal at the same time, saves you trouble changing it later...

    2 - Unsure sorry...

3 - Only bolts that need loctite are the flywheel bolts... Pressure plate, gearbox and engine bolts don't need it...

4 - There is no spigot bearing in a FWD box, but make sure to replace the clutch release bearing and grease the input shaft and release fork in the correct contact points...

  2. Rebuild the box you're looking at about 4k inc parts and labour, brand new box is 3k (japanese from Celica) and plus labour, if you're gunna fix it and can't find second hand, I recommend getting a new one, and replace the clutch at the same time with something better than standard but not too rough or you'll add more stress to the box...

  3. My figures vary all the time in the Sportivo, normal driving to work and back and a trip up north got me 680kms but more spirited driving gets me around 350kms...

So 700 in a 1.5 Yaris would be very do-able, but not in the auto that you've got... I'd say that figure it more from a manual model...

  4. Jam protection is kicking in...

Check the window seal and make sure it's not kinked or ill fitting anywhere... Also, does it have a weathershield??? Clips could be making the seal stick out too far...

Once you've made sure the seal is sitting in correctly, you have to remove and seperate the motor and regulator, wind the motor up and back down then half way... Connect everything back up and should work fine...

  5. Possibly crap fuel... Try filling up with something else...

Had 3 cars in at work with the same problem also including mine that didn't want to start at all last week... Always used Caltex 98 from the same servo... They got a makeover and got all new pumps, filled up and a day later didn't want to start... Went on the same for a few days till one morning it took about 3 constant minutes cranking over till it started... Went to BP that afternoon and filled up with BP Ultimate 98 to mix in with the remaining 1/4 tank of Caltex, been fine since that :)
