  1. looks awsome lee! :) one thing i would of done thou is to leave the front toyota emblem either a gloss black or chrome.. but it still looks awsome bro!

i agree the tinted headlights will set it off thou!

  2. Hey Davo, Ride report came back positive fraction stiffer which you expect, first time i got in the car after being lowered it felt like i was sitting on the ground took me awhile to get used to that. they dont appear to have settled anymore.

    so kiss ride comfort goodbye?

doo the sportivos come with a stiffer shock set up compared to the atx?

  3. Righto! Not much has happened for a while, so who's up for a bit of a cruise or meet up? Thinking next Sat (24th) or Sun (25th). Time is up to when people are free.

We usually have a bit of a mix of north and south people, so I propose we start at City West perhaps and go from there.

Just one thing... even tho I'm proposing this, I have absolutely NO sense of direction! So if people have any idea where to go from there I'm open to suggestions. Just no hills runs etc. Maybe just pop down to Utopia or something I dunno.

dammit ill still be overseas :(

i am going to organize a photoshoot/cruise (which i DONT want to be lead car!! :P ) after i get back, or if we make this after the 30th, we can merge cruises? :P

if not, have an awsome cruise guys! drive safe :)

  4. to add to this, if your looking for a pretty decent sub/amp set up which will pump hard but not break the bank, try the Alpine m500 mono block and s-type 12inch. im running that set up in mine now and it goes hard. eventually i will be upgrading to a x type and pdx but for now it certainly satisfies me.

also have a look at Lee (1stkills) set up. i think he uses rockford fosgate subs and amps.

so glad your starting your mods! cant wait to see it :)

  5. Grill is looking good...good to hear that the quality is up there....

    now....aiy...the question is

to grill or not to grill...

    :help:

for your black aurion... i would say its more of a question of "why havent you grilled it yet!?!?" just take a look at VF-X's black with chrome grill... B)

    Looking real good Davo.

Why did you have to post up pics of your grill? I haven't picked mine up from Vick yet because I am in the process of buying a house and if I rock up with it on then my wife will surely murder me for (what she considers) wasting money.

    Well done mate!

    hey jeff,

yeah sorry i was so amped about the quality and look of the grill i couldnt resists... plus as you probably have seen, im a camera whore so ill take any opportunity to snap a shot :P

im in the same situation, building at the moment but the missus is pretty understanding (lucky me!) she knows i have my own personal "slush fund" :P

Awesome awesome awesome, love it man. Where did you get the grill from? How are the quality on these after markets? I'm really considering putting this on my car but if I dislike it it's going to be a waste of money.

thanks mate :) i got the grill from the group buy... whicch sourced them from r style racing in thailand.

quality wise i was very suprised... the chrome grill feels really solid and has no visible defects... it acctually feels more solid than the original aurion sportivo grill i had on there previously!

id highly recommend it, im loving the look of the cars front now... love pulling up behind someone with a shiney paint panel at the lights now :P

thanks for the comments, will have the ducktail fitted after i get back from os, along with some more mods i have lined up! *evil grin*

AH okay, cheers mate. Don't tell me you don't drive the car in bad weather?

nah mate, shes my daily driver so she gets out there rain or no rain :P which is why i have to keep such a strict cleaning regime :P

hows your car going mate?? keeping her clean?? :) get some mods going!

  9. fark, i never really paid that much attention to your mufflers dude! they look awsome!

do you get much drone with them? you liking the noise with them? seeing AFAIK you are an audio buff, do you find it disturbs your music clarity at all? thats the main reason i havent touched my exhaust yet... i like my music too much :P

  10. yeah? weather shields??

hrmmm yeah i still am a bit undecided about those for now... i kinda like the slimline look of the car at the moment... will see how it looks once the other mods are on. hopefully by the end of this week!! :)

thanks for all your comments guys!

Lee - when you getting your baby back? bet you must miss it.. :(

  11. i swear those tyre marks were there when i got there... honest! i wouldnt be skidding on the adrenalins anyway.... too much grip :P

thanks for all the comments, i've just been out driving all night, loving the grip in the wet! only time i got wheel skid was coming out from an intersection which had wet sand thrown onto it from the rain we got today, other than that, these tyres grip!! very very happy with my choice, both with wheel size/design and tyres...

juvenile - i did want to go for 225/50 but there was a massive price difference and i dont think i would of felt the difference (apart from financially) for the way i drive.. :P

Daryl, dont they make the re001's in your size? i hear you been spending crazy money on tyres recently :S

U54mot - thanks for your kind words, and also for all your advice thru my PM's regarding tyre size and selection :) you car was one of the main reasons i decided to go for the Kappa's (along with Daryl's)

  12. Ive been waiting for this day to come and now i will have to wait another day :(

Mine will be a while away yet. Im still in the process of wearing down the factory ones.

you best get out there, do some skids, and get the new wheels and tyres on! :P

  13. ok first up, please please excuse the shocking photos, plus dirty car.. was in too much of a rush to set up a proper shoot, and the weather here in Perth was utterly c.Rap today :(

but.. without further delay, here are some pics of the new wheels.. also note that i have removed the aurion badging on the side doors..

... will update this again when i set up a proper shoot and maybe with some more mods ;) ;)

    hope you like it

    :)

    enjoy

  14. Just got my Kappa rims fitted with some Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin tyres. and fitted onto my car.. LOVE THEM!!!!! tyres are very quiet and grippy.. it started to rain as soon as i was pulling out of the tyre shop, so the car is kidna dirty now. but will clean it up and get photos up asap!

    loving the new wheels!!! yeeooow!

  15. Give me your opinions people's - yay or nay?

sorry mate, based on the photo, its a nay from me..

well done for trying something different thou! :) seeing as you have a sportivo, why not try that black park of the front bumper in the carbon wrap? even the rear diffuser?? just a suggestion :P

  16. Resurrecting this thread coz I don't think its worth creating a new one.

Anybody whos put LEDs in their map lights (white ones especially), are they still functional as reading lights, or more just end up looking good but ultimately useless? I wanna put some white ones in but don't wanna lose the functionality.

i found the single SMD led lights were a bit too focused at a point, so was not very effective as a reading light/finding lost coins light... i then used the panel type smd which has close to 20 small SMD ons it, simplyu using double sided tape to secure it into place.. this woprked out to be too bright, as it was very distracting when driving. in the end i have opted to use the tinted blue "parker" lights i got in the packet with my 4300k crystal vision globes... that worked out very well, still a nice whitish hue and good illumination..

    good luck mate :)

  17. G'day Davo...unfortunatly none of their (Pedders) shocks fit, coilovers are the only choice available.

you can always go KYB shocks and Pedders/Kings ect ect springs.IMO get the coilovers...you won't regret it.

yeah, it looks to be heading that way now.. as i dont want to sacrifice my ride comfort but i want the lowered stance...

looks like its gonna be an expensive month :P

if i can ask a favour from you lee... pm'ed

  18. Ok while i'm on hols it's time to do something about my standard shocks, they suck :( ...i've decided to try out Pedders Comfort Gas VRD (Velocity Responsive Damping),having all four done thursday morning, with an alignment.

    syov13.jpg

    and 3zzfe thanks mate. :)

    hey lee,

just a question regarding the attempted shock fitting on your car...

was it only the comfort shocks that wouldnt fit? or does it apply to all shock absorbers from pedders? ie the sports ryder?

i am looking at doing this instead of just the springs, but by reading your thread it looks like i may have to get the same set up with the coilovers?
