  1. The engine covers look real good when painted up. You boys have done a great job. I particularly like the dark Toyota badge too. Would look great against my SIlver Ash Aurion. Have any of you guys seen or considered painting the centre console and changing it from that ugly looking silver? I did it on my Supra years ago but it was a pain in the ***** and and I don't know if i could be bothered again.
  2. I pretty much asked myself the exact same question recently and ended up with a TRD Aurion. Everyone has their own view on what they'd spend the money on, for me, I wanted a newish car (mine has 15K on the clock), looks good, economical to an extent (I drive 125Km's each day) but still with some poke and nice looks. None of the Euro's have the same power of looks for the money and I'm not keen on spending that money on a commodore or falcon that everyone else has got (despite the fact I admit the SS and XR6T/G6ET are quicker). I don't rip the crap out of my cars on the road anymore and try to hammer every street corner like I'm in pole at Silverstone so the FWD and torque steer thing isn't a massive issue for me. As an all round 4 door car, that's new, low mileage, economical, spacious, different from the norm and reliable what other choice is there. In my opinion any other new car near the money I paid for the TRD gives up one of the traits I want. If it wasn't for the fact that I've done so many miles in my 05 WRX I wouldn't have gotten rid of it. Also if Subaru hadn't made the new ones ugly and the Liberty underpowered I would probably be sitting in one of them. Good luck with whatever you choose, it's your money, spend it how you want :)
  3. That's an awesome video! Nice find :)
  4. The thing that's happening here is that he is asking whether it is a good move. Now apart from the fact that this is a Toyota forum and you will obviously have bias towards the Toyota, he is comparing two completely different cars with different target markets. You need to realise that those here that are on the forum (who obviously have a Toyota) have chosen their cars for a reason. If it was such a 'good move' to get the Lancer, they they would have already done so. It's like me going onto a Mac forum asking if it is a good move to change to a PC. If he was wanting a proper discussion without any bias, he should have asked the question on a general automotive board. I wasn't trying to offend anyone and I wasn't aiming my post at you (or anyone else in particular). What I was saying is that whilst a level of bias is to be expected it doesn't mean that you (not you personally)have to be closed minded enough not to offer an opinion with positives and negatives. It appears from the other posts in this thread that this is not the case as the WRX and Ralliart have had some positive comments. As mentioned in my first post and as you highlighted they are cars of a very different class. However, people choose cars for all manner of reasons and many Aurion owner may have wanted a Ralliart but needed a larger car that the Aurion offers.
  5. This is the only pic I have of the car at the minute:
  6. The lancer is a very capable car but is an entirly different thing to a ZR6 in my opinion. If you want an out and out performance car get an Evo, if you want some performance with a bit of refinement get a WRX. If you want more luxury smoothness (and a bigger car) that still has heaps of power stay with the ZR6 or get a TRD :P They are both good cars. I don't think those that are dissing the Ralliart really know what they are talking about or even know what the Ralliart is. I know this is a Toyota forum, but it doesn't mean that pointless chants of 'ZR6's rule' have to be sung when somone considers something other than a Toyota. Just my opinion, maybe I'm old......

    Green Engine Oil?

I run special fully synth oil in my KTM 450 and that is green
  8. Those wheels look stupid on that car. They would be better suited to a Hummer!
  9. I have number 0159, it's a Silver 3500S.
  10. TRD Aurion in Nelson Bay, NSW.
  11. I forgot to ask earlier, does anyone know any performance mods for the TRD Aurion? I have tried to search the site but I don't seem to be finding obviuos answers. SImple things like upping boost etc., how do the engines cope? A point in the right direction would be appreciated. Sorry for the newbie question

    TRD.25

The white ones do look good. That would have been my choice, there aren't very many of them around though :(
  13. Interesting reading this, my car has a slight pull to the right under medium acceleration too. I initially thought of tracking as I haven't experienced this in any other FWD cars. Sounds like I'll have to learn to live with it.
  14. I had the the last Supra about 5 years ago but it was an excellent car. The Aurion is a very different thing all together. I'm a bit older now and the subtleness of the Aurion is more my thing. My last car was a WRX that I had for 2 years :) The WRX turbo is relatively smooth so the transition has been very easy. I just keep wondering where the clutch pedal is! Just got the Toyota and am still getting used to it. I drive 125Km's to work and back everyday (work in Newcastle) so I will get used to her real quick ;)
  15. Hey guys and gals, I have been looking the forum over the last few days and found lots of valuable information. I have just bought a Toyota and thought I should join and say hi. I have had two Toyota Supra's and an MR2 Turbo a number of years ago in the UK (yes, I know, another bloody Pom!) and have settled on a Toyota again :) Maybe see some of you around. Cheers, Steve
