  1. Hi, I am interested..... But $4k not including intercooler seems pretty expensive. Are u serious? Thats a bargain! Mmm i'm tempted but i dunno if i can justify it on the corolla. Hmmm...
  2. nope they aren't... Major difference is that the 2zz airboxes have and extra flap on the firewall side that opens when in lift so more air can enter
  3. ok here it is..... powerfull and affordable = not reliable. relable and powerfull = not affordable. affordable and relable = not powerfull. keke !! i love this ^__^ It would be interesting to make this a poll and see what people around here would choose...

    1986 ST162

i had an st184 celica and it also had those wheels on it.
  5. Yeah i dont use myspace... i made an account just to look at those photos... LOL Yeah in car camera - I've been thinking about it, I was thinking about grabbing a busted passenger headrest (im sure we got a few around) and pulling it apart and using the structure to mount it in so that the seat is holding the camera steady... is this similar to what you have done Dave? Instructions would be good :) what kind of camera are u using?
  6. You put your first standard rolla into a tree, so now you think it needs more power.... why? so you can go through the tree next time???? far out. I'm sure the road was 'perfect' for drifting but your driving a front-wheel drive corolla... enough said. And im sorry in no way is this new model "the most powerful corolla lately" despite what toyota's marketing ploys say. I still think it wins the award for the ugliest though.... And Qkslvr - while im flaming :P Andy it might be worthwhile saving your money on the supercharger and investing on some driving lessons. I dont think the car needs to handle the power i think u do...
  7. He'll tell u to go away. What they do to the rolla's isn't exactly legal for the street :(
  8. and by sc1x rollamods means all superchargers that are branded with the prefix sc1_ so by that i would imagine he is including the brilliant sc12 and sc14. I say brilliant cos apparently u can jam them on the engine and make power! Amazing!
  9. haha mate... Wow. Rollamods is probably the person with the most knowledge of toyota engines that i have ever met. If he's saying your talking crap then i'm inclined to believe that your talking crap. I don't understand what semi forged is either... Its either forged or not. And why would u just pick a random supercharger that fits onto a reasonably old engine? Clearly it isn't just a matter of "making forced induction" to gain power... If u can do that why isn't everyone just picking a random supercharger and jamming it on their engine. Clearly there is a lot more to it. And if u want to remap the computer, u'd want to buy an aftermarket ecu. Unless u know a trick about remapping standard toyota ecu's, and if u do i assure u there are many people on here who would be interested to please share?
  10. i think its kinda normal especially when cold. I do remember mine doing that. And u reminded me simo... When i installed it my mega strength snapped one of the maf sensor screws. Shoddy trd parts i say. So problem is half the screw is stuck in the thread of the hole and only one screw is holding the maf in... How can i get the old screw out so i can jam a new one in? My thoughts were a tiny drill bit into the screw... Any other suggestions?
  11. that peice of info is very interesting. so my theory is that with a 1ZZ 5 speed box on a 2ZZ would give you better quater mile times due to the fact that the gears are longer. i could be wrong though. just a theory. Actually the 1ZZ 5 spd gearbox is lower geared than the 2ZZ 6 Spd. This means that engine rpm @ a given road speed will be higher.
  12. Pete says that Murray Coote coilovers with Eibach springs do a great job. Only other suspension mod is a 1ZZ rear sway bar.
  13. More photos from 30/9/07 For all photos see HERE
  14. Man thats soooo weird!!! for ages I could only make it go clockwise... then it went anti-clockwise.... now i can sorta do it at will.... thats so awesome good find!!

    ny1 got pullover?

So in effect your making yourself lose your licence for 5 months not 3.... smart move. Yes i know u wont lose your licence until you pay the fine, but you would be stupid to drive in between now and then because if you get caught again you can expect more than a "cornholing"
  16. come on dyl think about it. Your 3rd point answers your 2nd perfectly.

My *** the amount of bull**** flying around here is enormous. The offense was committed whilst the driver was on his red Ps, therefore getting greens won't make a single squat of difference. The penalty applies then and there, not when the letter arrives in the mail or when you can be bothered paying the fine, if it is even possible to get a new license without clearing fines and penalties from the old one (which I highly doubt) Example: You have had one speeding offense on your red P's before the new laws came into effect. It was only 15km/h over the limit, thus it was just 3 points and you still keep your license, but have no points left. Then, 2 days before you go to sit your green Ps test, you get pulled over again (once again ignoring new laws). Once again, only a small offense, 10km/h over the limit but the 3 points will put you over the limit. Cunningly, you think you just won't pay the fine etc until you get your green Ps, which gives you another 3 points to play with and thus you'll keep your license. Like an idiot, you go and get your green Ps, but then get the letter in the mail saying that your license has been suspended for 3 months for exceeding the number of points on your red Ps. Stupidly, you go to court to fight it thinking that you'll win, because you didn't pay the fine until you got your green Ps. The judge then proceeds to bend you over the dock, and lets the entire prosecution team take turns cornholing you. LMFAO dude u are exactly right. In the words of stewie... "THANKYOOOUU!" Its good to see that some people on here still have some common sense.
  18. This has got to be the most common misconception in regards to new cars! Heaps of people think this, it makes me laugh. Have u ever seen a roof of a car before its installed? All it is is a weak piece of sheet metal. The strength of the vehicle comes from the roof turrets, which are connected to the a b and c pillars of the car. The sunroof has no impact on the structural quality of the car at all in any way. When a car rolls the roof will dint in like crazy, only difference with the sunroof is the glass, like he said, but with all the other glass in the car whats the difference it will make. Except it probably won't shatter due to the mega amount of window tint on there!
  19. unable to watch the videos at work but one of the videos, which ever hits jim richards was banned from australian tv as it was inappropriate for children. Thank the lord for the internet :P

what? When u lose your licence the cop does not take it in act anyway. U have already been verified as the driver because the police officer caught u. He spoke to u! U showed him your licence of course he knows its u. Go and pay your fine at the post office, and then if u loose your licence u will get a letter from the rta telling u what to do. I know in act u need to go and surrender your licence. Sorry buddy
  21. so many birthdays today! Well happy birthday to all but most importantly happy birthday to master shao. Your getting old now buddy!
  22. no don't worry too much those things are all present functionality of the car its not putting extra stress on anything. Don't worry too much just think about the fun u had and be assured that when u get into a situation like that u will have at least some understanding of what to do.
  23. Cheers jason ;) btw it made it in our local paper down here the other day as "the neal bates prepared corolla sportivo" made us laugh a bit. Dude u know what? Don't judge me as a trigger happy moderator because i'v never used my power as one to my advantage. I've never claimed to know everything about 2zz's, but i have worked on a few, and worked with people who have worked on many. You and all the other naysayers on here have pretty much convinced me to not say a word and keep all my knowledge to myself. You go ahead and do all those mods u listed above then raise the rev limit to 10k. Then come and tell us all how long it lasts. Then see if my advice before to not raise the limit was worthwhile or not. Finally... Many members on this forum have done more than just a cai on their cars, they just simply don't say anything as people like u jump down there throats. But all of those mods u listed would be terrible on a street corolla, and u know this mate. For a racing car yeah sure go for it, and personally my family have, with the assistance of one of the best 2zz engineers in aus. If u look in the lights camera action forum on here u will find a vid of one of our standard rally cars and some of its results... Quite impressive really, when u look at the competition. So stop jumping on all my posts and trying to prove them wrong cos clearly i do have some idea what i'm on about and i'm kinda sick of arguing with u mate. And mate i would have said all my above posts anyway regardless of what time i'm on the forum... Sorry i can't be on here all day long. Also, how do u know what trade i'm in?
  24. exactly silva... And pete the one i raced against on the track and it was a john cooper works mini cooper s and either the driver was slow or they aren't as quick as people make out. As for handling, out of the box they handle nicely but touch any part of the suspension and u start walking a fine kind between nice turn in and severe back of oversteer.
  25. Haha mate... Some of us on here have done all that and more to 2zz's. Both n/a and f/i. Its just pointless on a road car. U really gotta stop assuming things mate.
