  1. i think what jules meant was that the minor mods here have been exhausted to death. Over and over again. I'm sick of cai's. I agree dylan, but i also think people on here are not really interested in modding their cars properly, they just wanna spend a couple of bucks at stupidcheap auto and start running 10's... Cos u know, it works like that. I think we need a reputation system like toymods.
  2. i would recommend yr 11 and 12 even just as an accredited student, not as tertiary. Most schools offer school based apprentaceships or vocational ed subjects which sound like they would be perfect for u. I agree with jules don't write off the final years for school its not very long to go at all.
  3. Exhibit A http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=12641 how lazy can u get
  4. also i should add... my time of 52.93 was exactly 0.09 seconds off the class record.... talk about getting within a whisker....
  5. Mornin folks... Another event today... I was the sole ZZE Rolla out there... Although there was 2 AE82's (1 twinky), 1 KE30, and 1 AE86 Sprinter. Day started nicely... got 2 runs in sunshine, 2 in cold windy sh!t, and then 1 in p1ssingdown rain! As soon as we stopped racing, sun came out, absolutely beautiful afternoon. finished off with a new pb as well so thats good, times were. 1. 53.99 2. 52.93 3. 53.10 4. 53.03 5. 62.xx (p1ssing down rain - I hit 3rd gear before the 1st corner) Good enough for 1st place in class, pretty dam good if I do say so myself. Got one of these Bargain! Pics and in-car footage coming soon - mainly for Superdave, cos i'd say he's the only one reading this.
  6. Im so glad this topic has finally been created... I know us silver members have discussed this many a time but im glad its been released to the entire community. I have nothing else to add except for the fact that I agree completely with everything said above. I would also like to put money on the fact that the people who cause the problems around here will take absolutely no notice of this topic. However at least we have a chance to air our thoughts. I would like to ask others out there if they have any solutions to this problem (apart from changing the search function) As a moderator on here, I am more than happy to go around and close every repeat topic that comes up, but the fact is we dont want to be trigger happy, we dont have the time to and really we should never have to. Perhaps an option is to (if possible) make it so that people cannot start a new topic unless they have made a contribution previously (ie post count/membership length). This of course would have to be enforced via technology rather than the moderators. Another option is to make it so that when the "New Topic" button is clicked, it takes you to the search page first. Anyways... lets not just sit here and bitch, lets try something constructive and see where it gets us. Cheers, MT
  7. Mr Macfarlane is a knob and needs to stop ruining australian businesses
  8. do a search!!!! Haha i reckon super dave has got it in one thats all the info u need. Just be careful. Toyota want a couple of hundred for a maf if i remember correctly.
  9. Oh i agree completely. Its a lot of money for this kind of car, and there as plenty of other options out there for that kind of money. All i meant by my post was an explanation of repairable write off's and to try and make others understand that they aren't as bad as most people make out. Its actually quite a good way to get yourself a car if u know how. For example, with my car plus all the mods, i would still be ahead price wise than someone who owns a second hand completely standard sportivo. It works for me.
  10. Since 2003 its the law that any vehicle that has been in an accident and fixed by an insurance company has to be listed on REVS. All they mean by repairable write off is that the car was damaged and the insurance company couldn't justify the costs to fix it. -basically once the airbags blow they aren't keen on fixing anything. So the accident could have been bad, or it could have been a small hit u would never know. The fact that it is registered on PEVS i would think is a good thing. It means the car was crashed after 2003 and since then the whole industry has become cleaner because u can catch then now. Previously there was no way of knowing. Its reduced the amount of cut and shuts. For example, click in my sig and have a look at my sportivo. It was a repairable write off, but we bought it and fixed it ourselves and now i would argue that its stronger than standard. But then again i wouldn't buy one that someone else fixed because u never know how well its fixed. Also -if any of the pillars are damaged, the car is immediately a statutory write off and can never be registered again, so don't worry about that.
  11. i disagree with the other replies, i believe that the best size for 17's on a rolla is 205 45. Choice of tyres, go with the federal 595ss. But cos your rims are 7.5 wide, it might be better to go the 215 40. But the 205 will still fit if thats what u choose.
  12. Oh i think we have a winner mikey. Ben's car will definately get attention... And thats a real good deal what he offered.
  13. The 1ZZ-FE Corolla's with the throttle-cable type throttle (pre-2004): 100kw @ 6000RPM 171Nm @ 4200RPM Kerb weight: 1130kg 2007 Model kerb weight: 1225kg Old one is faster. Sorry newbs.

fckin loving the rims... top work dog
  15. They dont have more power than the previous model. Only the late 05 onwards models have 93kw, all other years (01-05) have 100kw
  16. with the ZZE 12x model corollas it is under the dash closer to the passenger side. Not sure about the new models
  17. come on guys did anyone actually look at the thread with the pictures? That car hasn't burnt by an engine failure, have a look on pickles and fowles auction sites the burnt cars are not this bad. This car has been torched i will put money on it. And the guy who used to own the car is Bryan he would be the guy on the senault site because he now races a clio in the production car cup. Not sure when he owned it though.

  19. there's quite a few celica's as well remember. Yeah you could do it, it may help when on the highway.
  20. Haha thats a canberra car "NATAS" was owned by some one, then another guy whose name is bryan. The pictures are on the forums here somewhere. The 3 engine changes were by the previous owner. I always thought it sounded dodgy but bryan insists that its not. I think it might be a one off cos i haven't heard of any others. I wouldn't worry too much.
  21. hey smithy... Yes the levin's have side airbags inside the seats. Just remember u can't put seat covers on! As for the sunroof it will most likely be an after market sunroof maybe installed from toyota maybe not. It was never an option though with this model. Just look at all the seals, see u it closes properly etc. Also when driving play with it. If it doesn't close u should be able to hear it! Also if its a Holliander sunroof just sit back and enjoy... It shouldn't have any problems. Best of luck with your purchase!
