  5. http://www21.sbs.com.au/topgear/ TOP GEAR - AUSTRALIA We’re on the hunt to find Australia’s best Top Gear on air team - and we’re looking for both tried and untried television talent. Will you make the team? Are you amongst Australia’s most knowledgeable, humorous, articulate and passionate people when discussing and assessing cars? If you are, we want to give you a chance to be part of the presenting team for this exciting new series being developed and produced by Freehand, in association with BBC Worldwide and Top Gear, for SBS. To be part of this fantastic opportunity, you are: 18 years or older on 1 January, 2008 - though if you’re a Lewis Hamilton whose skills could impress our insurance company, then we might consider you. The holder of a current, unblemished drivers licence. Available for filming in Australia at dates to be confirmed in 2008. Not affiliated (beHolden ... hmm) to any car company or motoring company through sponsorship, commercial arrangements or employment. Demonstrably knowledgeable, opinionated and passionate about cars - and able to deliver that knowledge and passion (along with humour, of course) on screen. NOT a clone of the magnificent and simply unique Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond or James May. We’re looking for Australia’s own Top Gear faces. Of course you could be a clone of The Stig. You may be an amateur motor enthusiast and expert who’s not a television presenter. You may be a motoring journalist with little or no television experience. You may have some television experience BUT we’re NOT looking for classic television presenters without knowledge, experience or expertise. SEND US YOUR VIDEO Initially, we need to see and hear you on video. So send us a video (VHS, DV or DVD, we don’t mind) which gives us a look at what you can do. Tell us about who you are, where you live, the best car ever, the worst car ever, what stunts and celebrities you want to see on Top Gear Australia and what drives you nuts in the world of cars. And if you want a couple of your mates to help you out on camera as a ready-made team, that’s fine. And if you want to be The Stig - persuade us you know how to drive and we’ll NEVER reveal who you are - and of course you won’t either! But you’ve only got 10 minutes on tape. That’s all we’ll watch - so no Hollywood epics please. And remember, this is not about clever film-making to disguise average talent. Let your talent shine through even if your video making technique’s not flash. HOW TO APPLY You need to download the Top Gear Australia application package - or you can email topgear@freehandtv.com.au and we’ll send it to you. Complete the form and send it with your video entry to: Top Gear Australia Locked Bag 2005 Glebe NSW 2037 APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5PM ON FRIDAY, 1 FEBRUARY NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. THE SELECTION PROCESS Your video entry will be watched by a team of television professionals who will select those who shine for an interview. The next stage will see a chosen few come together for bit of a bonding session and camera tests. From those, the new Top Gear Australia presenting team will be chosen. So who's keen???? Man this would be the best experience. I can see Bill applying... "so Bill, what do you think of this car" "well mate, you see.... its alright.. i don't mind it. but mate... where's the fluffy dice?? And i reckon it needs a double shot of garlic sauce... she'll be sweet love!"
  6. only silver ones i know of are sheldon and yankie guy and neither of them are 32! Could easily be a rental as well. Good find dylan. However it doesn't mention what time the second guy was caught. Could have been racing, or just the cop sitting there waiting.
  7. can i just close this now?
  8. My AEM one did that, thats why I changed to the Drift one too. its just the ****ty parts that come with the package :P
  9. ahhh ZRE-152 corolla im guessing I havent seen a new model corolla inside yet, maybe the rear power windows look like that anyway? Have u checked?
  10. yup, just a receipt. Get the guy u bought it off to write a receipt saying what you bought (vin number is pretty essential here) who bought it who sold it what date how much and it will need to be signed, so not faxed emailed etc.
  11. I know Richo (RO114) in canberra here had cruise control and it worked quite well. Think it was the toyota version. I think. Yeah, so really, nothing important to add to the topic... but yeah... sorry.
  12. still dont understand why this was posted in this topic, but ok, go for it.
  13. well im sure we'd remember more if pics were added.
  14. unless the GB is picked up by someone who has shown to the forum that they arent here just to earn a quick buck or screw people over, its not going ahead it seems.
  15. I know in the ACT, if its unregisted and out of state, you need to go through the entire process of rego check and ID check, as well as registration and CTPI (green slip) So in NSW, im pretty sure u will have to go get every slip available to get this car registered.
  16. mate, no offence but if u look at the **** fight we go through just with normal buy and sell then u would understand the need for these rules. All of the moderators and many other members have been stung with problems with trading on this forum. We need to protect ourselves. Take for example some new member started a group buy recently that silvabullit was supplying the parts for. Problem was no one decided to tell silvabullit. I'm sorry you feel like we are being unfair, but these rules are required to protect our members. If you have any other suggestions on how we can manage this, feel free to pass them on, we are willing to listen to any input you might have.
  17. its the fastest time, no averages. but if you add up jimmys and my times, and divide by 5, im still faster :P
  18. i'd add that when u jack up the rear of the car u should really chock a front wheel. Did u bleed the brake system after changing the pads?
  19. yeah if u want to fix it properly it'll cost that and more, but the post says fix it cheaply so u don't need to go that far. Easily make it driveable for less than 2k
  20. there's a search button in the top right hand corner. Its all been covered before. No 'chips' as such, but lots of aftermarket ecu's out there if u have a look.
  21. i'd get a radiator from a wrecker, install it and check if the system leaks. Get someone to check the aircon if u plan to use it on your trip. Bonnet could be bent back into shape pretty easily. Get a bumper from a wrecker as well, and a bonnet if u really wish. Could be fixed easily for under 500 i reckon. Thats if u can do some basic panel beating with a hammer and dolly, otherwise maybe more.
