Any one have any links to some reading I can do to find out more about it just for something to do really (don't know much about them)... 3. If your blade touched the body of the car whilst you where cutting the wire it would have shorted... Basically the body of the car is negative and the wire you where cutting into is positive... if they touch you will have issues. (remember metal/knife/screwdriver..etc..etc will conduct and cause a short) For example if you are connecting your battery in the engine bay and your spanner or screwdriver touches the body of the car whilst tightening the positive termanal you will have an issues, it's basically the same as connecting the two battery terminals together. (Negative is connected to the cars chassis) Cheers Fudge.
  4. Hay guys, Please could you let me know where/when (time) that you guys meet up these days... I have seen a small map some where in the many pages on this thred but finding it is not as easy. Perhaps it would be a good idea to copy the map/meeting details onto the first post of this thread and keep that updated if any details change to make it nice and easy for every one to find ? (Just a suggestion) All the best Fudge

  16. Hi all, I have a friend that is looking at getting a new Hilux (4.0L VVT-i V6 Petrol 5 spd Auto Pickup) and doing a Gas Conversion on it. Has any one seen this done or done it? How does the card run? Will this cause any warranty issues? Also do you know if Toyota can do the install? (to avoid any warranty issues if this is an issue?) Many thanks! Fudge

Do you guys still meetup at South Brisbane at all or do you all meet in the North now? Cheers Fudge :-)
  18. I also had the same issue and Toyota fixed it when I took my car in for the next service, I think they said something just needed some grease (a spring perhaps?). Cheers Fudge
  19. Hi Guys If any one is planning on purchasing the upgrade edition or performing an upgrade please run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor to check what devices you may have issues with and what programs HAVE to be uninstalled before installing (and NOT installed into Vista after installing/upgrading). MS has done a good job with this tool from what I've seen, defiantly worth the download (to save time as I'm sure Saiya would agree) Nero version 6 is NOT supported, neither is alot of older anti-virus software so please be care full before installing. If you run into trouble boot up into safe mode and perform a roll back to the last system restore point. You can download a copy of Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor hear: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those of you who will be purchasing the Windows Vista upgrade and would like to perform a clean install hear is the work around: Thanks to WinInfo (Paul Thurrott) for this work around With a support note quietly posted to its Web site, Microsoft confirmed what enthusiasts have long feared: Users who purchase Upgrade versions of Windows Vista will not be able to perform clean installs of the operating system. Instead, they will need to first install their previous OS and then upgrade in-place to Vista. "This problem occurs because Windows Vista [setup] does not check upgrade compliance," a support note on Microsoft's Web site reads. "Therefore, you cannot use an upgrade key to perform a clean installation of Windows Vista." While this is sure to infuriate some users--and certainly, it contradicts information Microsoft provided me with last year--the reality is that upgrade installs of Windows Vista essentially wipe out the OS and perform an install that is very much like a clean install. The real problem here, therefore, will be the length of time it takes to install Vista using the Upgrade media: Though Vista often installs in about 30 minutes, previous versions often take twice as long. UPDATE: I haven't tested this yet, as I don't have Vista Upgrade media to test, but I'm told that Microsoft's internal documentation does explain how to clean install Vista using an Upgrade version. It appears to be more of a workaround than a true clean install, however. Here's what it says. 1. Boot with the Windows Vista Upgrade DVD. 2. Click "Install Now." 3. Do not enter a Product Key When prompted. 4. When prompted, select the Vista product edition that you do have. 6. Install Vista normally. 7. Once the install is complete, restart the DVD-based Setup from within Windows Vista. Perform an in-place upgrade. 8. Enter your Product Key when prompted. Regards Fudge :D
  20. Hi iffster I agree with you that Windows can be programmed MUCH better, but the issue is the OS is so complicated and so involved it would take many many many years to try and reprogram the base code. This is the same issues that Linux/OSX are starting to see now with there newer OS's (as there kernel tipples in size over the last few years). This is why I say as crap as people say MS is they are doing alot better then they have in the past and since Windows XP I believe they have had a relatively decent and stable OS. From what I've seen of Vista it looks good and has some great features (so much so that I believe OSX is going to have to speed up there next gen OS if they want to stay ahead with the "best looking" OS). Competition is what it's all about. (Eg, AMD or Intel, keeping each other honest) Fudge
  21. Vista will run no worries on your PC, might be a good idea to throw in some more RAM just to get the best out of it ;-)
  22. I'm going with Vista but will wait untill all software works 100% first Eg. Counter Strike Source! I've played around a fair bit with Vista already and i think it's great, monitoring, logs, speed... etc..etc all seemed fine to me. (I was doing my testing with a 4 year old P4 2.4Ghz, 768MB Ram, ATI 9600), all very old crappy hardware really and worked 100% for me. My main system is a Duo 2 Core 2.4 with 2GB of RAM so no issues there if it ran an the 4 year old stuff :-) I personaly don't see any issues with the OS and don't think "vista is a poorly programmed piece of @##! " but rather good :-) Sure any thing can be better but left face it Windows still have the majority of the market so must be doing somthing right. OSX is also ok (I have one at work) and yes even they do need drivers at times and are not that great unless you run the OS on Intel hardware, which mine is not :-( My advice would be to wait a month or so before installing the new Vista OS as many applications will get tested in the first month or so by others and fixed :-) Well that my 2 cents worth :-D Cheers Fudge
  23. Love it.... Looks like a great idea, has any one managed to get it done in Aus yet? It would be really good if you could have 3 colours.... LOL Eg, 0.00 - 5.99K RPM = Blue 6.00 - 7.95K RPM = Red 7.96 - 8.10K RPM = White/Yellow/what ever colours you want (you get the idea) Can this be done our has it been confirmed that it can't be done on the Aus models? If it can be done, how much are we looking at and what is involved? Regards Fudge :P
  24. 12" Eclipse Sub... Goes great, I preferred it to the Alpines in it's class but as you might already know sound can be very subjective so I would recommend going to a few sounds shops and taking a listen to find what found you are after :D Regards Jonathan
