  1. Not sure if this will help any one but check out ebay if you need a blank key: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Toyota-Most-Model-K...oQQcmdZViewItem You can also get others with buttons (but looks like you need to get the insides)... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Toyota-Key-Blank-Re...oQQcmdZViewItem Cheers FB
  2. Hi Guys, just to let you all know... Toyota MtGravat has fixed my gear box issue with changing gears :-) They did take some time to get the job done as I belive the techs there are new as well as reciving an incorrect part (not sure but this is what I suspect might be the issue).. Any way.. They got there in the end and I am happy with the result, also met the tech that did the work and he looks like a good guy that is willing to help out :D If you are still having gearbox issues and you are in the Brisbane, MtGravat area... might be worth trying to get it fixed through them B) They also did not charge me a cent as some has mentioned they have gotten charged... Hope this can help some others B) ... Enjoy! Cheers Fudge
  3. Hay ZEEROLLA I feel your pain.... :( hopefully it will be fixed soon!
  4. No ZEEROLLA...No don't do it.... S P L A T ! ! ! LOL :P
  5. Whingers??? And so they have the right to Whinge all they like until they get the $30K worth of what they paid for. I also have the clutch problem, I can’t get into second gear whilst in lift without crunching gears badly. Yes Toyota is trying to fix it and I am happy but after coming on this forum and see how many others are having the same issue… There is obviously more to the story they Toyota is admitting to. As for your comment about there is issues in every product, once again I would have to agree but the amount of people in this small forum that are having the same issues is very worrying (and to think there are still many many others out there that don’t even know about the forum that I’m sure are having the same issues as well). What I’m basicly trying to say, so many people are having this issue, if Toyota even think about charging spit the dummy and go else where, if they have already done the job and did not tell you about costing.. DO NOT PAY, if they are pricks about it, tell tem to put it back the way it was and go else where and get it done for free. Toyota need to pull there act together, admit there is an issue with some cars get it fixed and have happy customers. Part of the issue I believe is getting the Sportivo’s built in South Africa, hence the vast quality control issues. Woo Hooo, this is really good news... congrats... must be a GREAT feeling! I can't wait untill mine gets fixed :-) Does any one know a good dealer in South Brisbane that can get the job done well? Enjoy RedLiner! B)
  6. Hi rollamods Understand where you are coming from but when it seems to be an issue many people are having with there car (Sportivo) and they have released an official clutch adjustment procedure – News bulletin, how can they honestly charge for something that is a design fault? If it was designed correctly in the first place we would not be going back to get it fixed. I for one can’t stand taking time of work to get stuff in the car fixed, it’s extremely annoying and a complete waist of time, I expect when I buy a brand new car for things to work 100% and if they don’t I expect them to be fixed/replaced free of charge. I fail to see how a clutch adjustment is something that could have been abused? Unless the clutch is physically bent/warped how can they charge you to position the clutch where it should have been when the car was purchased? Another thing I can’t understand is I believe the clutch adjustment article was distributed some time in 2004? (correct me if I am wrong) but why is my car with a build date of 2005-08 not got the correct measurements of the clutch height? Toyota should get there act together, admit they have stuffed up fix the issue and keep there current customers happy so they might thing about purchasing another Toyota as there next car… how they fail to see this I don’t understand. If Toyota do give me a run around I will be submitting a report on the Not Good Enough website “http://www.notgoodenough.com.au/”, I would recommend some people in this forum that have been trying to sort there issues out for a long period of time do the same as this will surly force Toyota to pull there act together unless they want free negative publicity. Well that’s my 2cents worth any way... :D Just an update guys... http://www.notgoodenough.org Has had not got any outstanding issues with Toyota all issues have been sorted out! This means that every one that has ever complained about Toyota has had there issue sorted out by Toyota through Not Good Enough... So looks like it defiantly is worth a try for any one that has got ongoing issues with Toyota and is struggling to get things done! Hope this helps some people... :-) Let us know how you go if you do use it... Cheers FB :D
  7. Toyota should not charge for warranty items... I did not get charged and if they even think of giving me a bill I will simply walk out and tell them to stick it (take me to court I don't care) and I will go else ware. Some of these dealers sound like cowboys, don’t put up for there crap, you spent the money, make sure you get what you paid for! Southside Toyota MtGravat seems ok (although there techs are a little unexperienced I think) but them seem to want to fix the issues! I have not had any crap run over me as yet like I did at Woolloongabba (don’t go there they are all talk and negative action)
  8. Sounds like a good idea.. but no good to us Brissie boys... LOL How about every one that has had the clutch/Gear issues put down there numberplate number and someone that has a contact in Toyota sends it in? I know they can enter numberplates into the system and bring up any details they need from there? If we can get a nice long list of numberplates it might have some impact as well? All we need is a good contact at Toyota which I think a few people have access to on this forum. Any thoughts? Fudge
  9. Focal make great speakers... Focal and Eclipse are my choice :-) The Focals I wanted where more then the Eclipse hence why I did not go for them, I am not too sure about the exact model though :( But if you bid for them, run down to the local car shot and give them a listen without an amp... I'm sure they will sound good but work a listen as I find speakers to be a very personal thing... It's all about what sound you like! :P Cheers FB
  10. I think that is correct 6.5" for fround and about 5 1/4" for the rear... Another thing to keep an eye out for is depth of the speakers, from memory the front windows normaly misses most of the speakers magnets, can't remember about the back... but if you are getting really chunky speakers keep it in mind that you will still need to check if depth will be ok as well... You can also make a frame for the speaker that will raise it a bit and you can close off the back of the speaker incase of water comming in... just some things to think off. Cheers FB
  11. Hi ZEEROLLA thanks once again for the reply :-) I'll give the Toyota oil another go, maby it just needs a flash from the factory oil :-) Also would be good to know how the $117 oil goes compared to the Standard Castrol oil, I hope I have not done any damage that will stop me quickly shifting from 1st into 2nd (I love staying in lift :D ) Cheers FB
  12. No Problem Jimz Let us know what you like best once you get time to go have a listen B)
  13. I was really enjoying reading up about Brant until I cam across this page and my confidence dropped: http://w3svc172.production.dtchosting.com....D2-815B3A0D0542 Mmmmmm. I’m going to wait a while and see what happens before I get an alarm installed.. thanks for the info though! FB :D
  14. I believe Epsilon is Gold Coast Car Sounds (GCCS) "House" Brand... They are ment to be the only guys that sell it. Same deal as say West Coast Custom (By Orion) is meant to be Autobarn’s “House” brand I think.
  15. I've been very happy with the Eclipse range of speakers and subs.. Might want to give them a listen as well, Northfield Car Sounds stock them, they also got Focal and Alpine so you can compaire for what sound you like best (ask them to run it without an amp as well for a better idea how it will sound for you) :D
  16. Hi ZEEROLLA Thanks for the reply, $117... wooo that is quite a bit of cash for oil (guess it might be because I've never looked at the prices before :P ). I will take my car back into Toyota and jump up and down first to see what they can do.. hopfully they can get it all working underwarranty as my car is not even 1 year old yet :D ,only done about 9750KM so will get my 10K service done now I recon see what they say... Is the normal Toyota oil any good or should I be asking them to put somthing better in and paying the extra?, Is the probelm crap oil in the Sportivo's from South Africa? the oil they will replace with is it deferent to the oil that is in there right now? (just asking to see if I will start getting the same issue a little later) Cheers! FB
  17. I am also having high REV issue from 1st into 2nd (Crunching more and more often now)... It has also started crunching going from 4th (and sometimes 3rd) into 2nd. It also feels like the gears are locked when going from 1st to 2nd most of the time... It's really anoying the hell out of me... loosing many drags because of it... :P But my first 10K service is getting booked in soon so I'm going to try and get it fixed then... From what I've read the new facelift cars are not ment to have this issue??? (mine is a July/August/September' 05 build from memroy)... It is almost like the syncro is not right expecialy when downshifting as if I'm in low revs it Normaly seems ok (about 90% of the time...) I just don't know... hopfully it will get fixed soon! :D
  18. And i also have the shift issue at high RPM's and getting worse :( Complained to Rob Stevenson a number of times at Woolloongabba (Southside Toyota), phone, email and in person, he is all talk and no action! Tried to make a complaint to head office and they basicly told me to get stuffed and work my way up the chain (contact the dealer manager before calling them basically). I simply just do not have the time to complain and follow up. only real time I do do this is during work and I'm flat out working (something that Toyota does not know how to do) FB
  19. I'm with AAMI not sure how much (around $700 - $800) in South Brisbane. Had a work mate at work that has had 2 claims with AAMI and have been very happy and talks highly of them... so I figure if you still talk highly of any insurance company after a claim they can't be that bad... LOL Well thats just my logic any way :-) I also find the service at AAMI second to none every time :-), they told me I could install a CAI if I like so I'm happy :-)
  20. Hi paradox667 Many thanks for the links.. Any chance of a mirror site? The 2ZZ seems to be gone :-( Cheers for the links any way :-) FB
  21. Thanks for the reply's guys... Also to answer the questions from iniff :-) It ended up costing around $2300 all up including install and dynamat (fround doors). However that does not include the SUB box! box is still getting made up and should be ready next week :-) Getting all the other stuff instalelled and ready to go tomorrow (Saturday), I am puting in an older sub box I have for now untill I get my new one :-) Should be good :-) Also with the tweetieessss, they ended up glueing them in, I told them to use the brackets but "apparently" they did not fit, but to tell you the truth I'm not sure if they even tried. I have not been hapy with Northfield Car Sound at MtGravat. Final insatll getting done at GoldCoast Car Sound (slacks creek) so far been hapy with them. Cheers FB
  22. Hay Daz thanks for the reply :-) I'll have a look around, upgrade is the way I will be going though :-) Could not belive how much extra it costs of the windows to go up, I had a figure like $50 or somthing extra for that... LOL, though the alarm could have done it... ow well the things you learn :P I guess they have to make money some how Cheeers FB
  23. LOL Hay ktse1881 ya I was trying to keep each main item under $500, although I did end up stretching the budget a little :-P
