Going From sports in say 2nd and high rev's into Drive brings nearly instantaneous change to say 4th or even 5th gear however the gearbox is already under torque from drive. An easy way to see what will happen shows up if when reversing out of your driveway for example u go from reverse through neutral to drive without stopping backwards momentum the aurion lurches violently and chirps front wheels and its VERY VERY bad for the torque converter, Gearbox CV's the whole drivetrain. Besides when u coast in the aurion it doesnt remain at revs anyways unless u are in sports mode. I have simulated this situation nearly exactly when driving my mums old falcon once a while ago it is on LP Gas and has a changeover switch to go onto petrol which requires u to put the gearbox in neutral coast until the engine splutters then flick it over. I was on cruise control when i switched it into neutral which resulted in the engine revving quickly and me panicking and putting it back into drive which slammed the driveline and made even the ancient XF chirp its back wheels violently.

It was one of the blow up ones you get in show bags that squeak when you use it what u do is lean out at and hit the other car with it and go "you got hammered " wouldnt that just be the icing on anyones cake. Ha ha

One thing that second video does show is just how hard u can push the 2GR if u have to and as far as the aurion handling like that if it was RWD i doubt it as that car had the engine mid mounted which obviously made it very very balanced. In my ae86 to make it handle as good as a stock AW11 i had to do considerable suspension work thats a good exaple of the difference.

dont Lambo's have launch control built in? surely with that car the clucth and gearbox are designed for the power it already makes any more and u dump the clutch too fast thats an expesive launch....

I've talked to Australian Performance Centre here in Perth and including custom made extractors and full 2.5 inch system they claim approx 10% power gain and a price in the region of $2800 Seems a bit rich to me.....

Please feel free to delete i'm not out to get anyone in trouble just wanted to meet some other Aurion Fans for once such an under rated car cant see how anyone who drives one could possibly choose falcon or commodore over it

Ummm sorry wildfireatx but if you haven't read already I dont think anyone is willing to discuss these matters.. Why not just see for yourself :)... AND if you did beat any of these guys maybe a smile with a big breath of contentment will satisfy your victory! Apologies aren't accepted then? harumph i still wanna see how it goes at the track i get the feeling its a much more capable circuit car than a drag car.

Sorry to all the Mods and so forth am new to the site and wasnt thinking too much just really excited with the new car is all. I AM taking it to the track and will let all know how it goes in a new thread soon. PS maybe not LS1's and 2's but a 5litre surely we can beat those guys at drags or not?

Yeah he was cos he went to pass me and i floored it and so did he i must say i was rolling at 60 when i floored it maybe gave me a bit of an advantage. I am curious has anyone anywhere ever looked into whether you can "remove" the ratcheting mechanism on the "footbrake" to make a handbrake pedal hahahaha now that would be interesting although unless u have traction control switched off the car has what i would describe as an epileptic fit. I know my friends XR6 is nowhere near as quick and the car has a top speed of 230 ;)

I knew it was quick but wow i have a feeling a few of the V8's out there might wanna be careful anyone else got any stories of giant killing in their Aurion? Mines a stock AT-X and it beat an R34 so stoked!!!
