  1. You shouldn't be so hard on your GF man, I mean you thought that putting oil into your engine would help. I forsee replacing many parts of the fuel system.

These might fit on my dads Gen4. How does $20 + postage sound?
  3. No. The prices are actually marked up before you even make mention of it. That's the whole idea behind of being able to get a better price when paying with cash. There is a bunch of other negative words I could say about GE Money and retailers that deal with them but... I don't want anything to bite me in the a**. Sneaky little buggers. Oh well, it's still good to get what you want reducing your need to want to upgrade again.
  4. GE Money is the devil . Nah... for those that use the interest free finance appropriately, it is quite good. Just bear in mind though that they usually charge just that little bit extra when you pay with finance like that due to the Merchant Service Fees that GE will charge them. I used to have to deal with merchants/customers over the phone and heard/saw how much they try to rip you off. Startup fee is $25, monthly account keeping fee is $3.95. If you pay before the 12 months it is a pretty good deal. As for the extra you pay, it depends on the seller. When I got some gear from WoW Sight and Sound, they didn't charge any extra.
  5. Jax Quikfit quoted me @ $267 per tyre, plus since I got 4 tyres I got a free Canon Ixus 105 from Michelin as well.
  6. So... that's the usual, right?
  7. Could be a few things, anything from well worn struts to worn bushes to a scrubbing RSB. I'd probably get it checked at a suspension joint, most places offer a free check + quote. Let them know you're shopping around and they'll try to give you a competitive price.
  8. shhhh... SupaTouring Dave might hear you. He's the real Camry king. For reference though, the production year of the 3vz-fe was 1991 (it was loosely based on the 3vz-e) and the 1mz-fe was released in 1994, but it is likely there have been a few revisions of the 1mz-fe since it's initial release. edit: when I say likely, The Gen5 US Camry had the 1mz-fe with VVTi, No EGR, hydraulic engine mounts + active control engine mounts. Power upped to 156kW I'm going to also put it down to the fact it is a newer engine design and newer technology (for the belt). As for the spark change interval, I can't explain or even guess as to why. Developments in spark plug technology usually increase the time required for a change, not decrease.
  9. I understand that the appropriate spark plugs have twin electrodes such as (NGK Laser Platinum Spark Plug - BKR6EKPB-11). The plugs shown on Ebay have a single electrode. Edit: They may use single electrodes on iridium plugs to the platinum plugs! Technically you shouldn't use the single electrode plugs on the 1mz-fe but many users have used the single electrode plugs without issue. I'm using a set of the Denso IK22 Iridium plugs in my setup. I'm using a colder plug as the the supercharger generates extra heat and it will help with preventing pre-ignition (even though it's unlikely to happen with regular plugs anyway).
  10. Have recently put on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport III onto my Camry (235/40/18, 95W) and I was immensely impressed with the way they handle. Superb in the wet, superb in the dry and extremely quiet as well. I paid $267ea per tyre. I have seen recommendations of the Kumho KU31 and Federal 595ss/evo which will also float around your budget.
  11. Jimny Cricket! Where did I put that title deed to Mayfair... Realistically I'll have to pass on the Rays as they are just too expensive.
  12. I was hoping so, because once upon a time he did say this: I figured if he considered using it, then it has to pass his standards. Bugger I didn't think about all this on Thursday night when I could have asked. Now that I think on it... in the semi-syn range he's satisfied with the Penrite HPR range as well.
  13. My biggest issue with most of the models like the 2 you have just posted ^ is while they are 6 spoke, they aren't like the G2's where they extend from the wheel with the spokes tapering back to the wheel. TSW made a set much like the G2's for the GTP Gen4 Camry but they are EOL. I'm so damn fussy.
  14. The Viking regards Penrite SIN and Mobil 1 highly Daryl. I think either choice is a good one.
  15. It's not hard to pull out: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_2004_TOYOTA_CAMRY_ACV36R-DEPVKQ_5806.2.html Have a look at the pictures, 6 clips. Nothing special, i've pulled out my one (manual, but it uses the same clip setup) and it's a breeze. I personally would take it to a suspension joint and get a suspension check. Most places offer a free check so take advantage of this and shop around; let them know you're doing it too so they'll do the best price they can.
  16. Hey, hey man... Over 100 years you might.
  17. It could simply be a loose connector. It would probably e worth taking off the cover and having a look
  18. The caster bushes that I got was a SuperPro double offset bush kit, Part Number: SPF3175K. You can read about caster here: http://www.ozebiz.com.au/racetech/theory/align.html You may not need a double offset kit, you may only need a single. Take it to a suspension place and tell them your problem. I couldn't tell you if new springs would help or not
  19. To reset the ECU: 1) Remove the negative terminal from the battery and leave it off for 30minutes 2) Re-attach the negative terminal 3) Start the engine and leave it to idle for no more than 30seconds then turn it off 4) Restart the engine and leave it to idle for 10minutes or so. Don't do anything to the car during the idle time. 5) Drive, the car will relearn your driving style. I can't explain the idling + engine issues but with regards to the steering issue: 1) The sportivo has a slightly stiffer suspension setup than the non-sportivo versions but I never noticed it to be rough, your shocks may be worn @ 158,000km. For reference I am just about to replace my KYB excel-g shocks (decent OEM replacements) with some sport shocks if you are looking for a cheap set of shocks with plenty of life left in them (30km rear, 15km fronts), let me know. They are suited for the 36 series. If you don't want mine, if they need to be replaced; you should do it in any event. The KYB OEM replacements seems to be regarded as the best OEM replacement shock of the ones available (Monroe, Pedders, Ultima etc). 2) Your car may pull to one side due to your caster. I have had my caster bushes replaced with a double offset bush kit which eliminated the car pulling to the left. Paired with a proper alignment it may help you as well.
  20. Can you please elaborate, as in the price or that it is not worth buying in the first place . I really don't know much apart from the claim made by Philips itself, not that it's going to make any different, since I already paid for the lights, but perhaps for future reference. Here is the link to the Philips bulbs: http://www.invisionsales.com/lighting/philips/headlight-upgrades PowerBulbs.com will do them for you @ almost half the price including shipping from the UK (which doesn't take too long either)
  21. The Gen5's share this trait as well, it sucks.
