  1. A few things: 1 - Washed and waxed the car, finally after all this Shiite weather 2 - Put on the TRD Radiator cap 3 - Played around with the rubber seal on the windscreen cowl. It keeps the engine bay cooler removed, but I need to find out what kind of effects I will get when I put the car under heavy load.
  2. I purchased a used complete fuel pump assembly from America for $40 Aus delivered. Replacement new pumps sell for under US $100. That's a grand idea. Even though I know they are expensive, Toyota Genuine never ceases to amaze me.
  3. Just gave my local Toyota a call, fuel pump isn't the cheapest thing around. V6 Fuel Pump - PN: 23221-20040 - $677.00 including GST. You may be better off going to a wrecker and getting a 2nd hand one. At Toyota prices you can get a better pump; however there will be the need to modify the fuel setup.
  4. Welcome to the forums, interested that you'd choose an Aurion but that's not a bad thing though. Seems like we can't bundle all of the youth of today's society in one lump! Brisbane meets are the best. Spring Hill Loop Mechanics + KK Donuts/Sarah's brownies + conversations of the... interesting kind. You interstaters are missing out.

  6. Huh? I'm sure we all know the potential gains that performance cars might gain from a hi-flow cat over a standard one. Remember that we're talking about a Camry here so the question is valid. I can't help but think I'm going to hear the term 'street cred' and 'Camry' in the same sentence again. The V6 Camry running the 1mz-fe will see very little gains from a hi-flow cat. Even when I had my headers and catback done Trevor @ CES recommended against the hi-flow as the stock one is quite good and the gain VS the expense ($150+ for a suitable magnaflow) wasn't worth it. Given the hi-flow wasn't overly expensive and Trevor still recommending against it speaks volumes. A hi-flow simply doesn't warrant the extra cost, no matter now low it is. Oh, and one last thing:
  7. As Daryl said, it wasn't me as i was boozing up at the Wyndham Estate winery. My brother is driving my car while I have taken his. I couldn't argue with free fuel for the 1600km trip :)
  8. First thing i would check is to see if your MAF sensor is secure. Happened to me with my Gen5 and it was all due to the sensor being a tad loose.
  9. To be a litle more useful, here is what i use: Engine oil: Mobil1 5-50w Oil filter: k&n hp-1002 Sump plug washer: I haven't for 30000km Brake Fluid: Penrite 525 Radiator Coolant: Tectaloy Red Windscreen fluid: RainX wiper additive (before that it was the ArmorAll one) EGR tube: heaterhose and 2 hose clamps I am probably due to replace power steering fluid and gearbox oil soon; I can guarantee you I won't be doing Toyota Genuine. Mobil will make what I need.
  10. If you really think so. Just keep that one to yourself. I reckon the addition of stability control is a nice touch. Helps rectify all these problems that have been found with our Camrys lately.
  11. Approved fluids? Bah, don't waste your time! SuperCheap/AutoBarn will have all you need.
  12. Matt: Responsibility sucks. Who is responsible for this mess? Who is responsible for xxx. No thanks. Hahaha, just noticed the 'clay addict' - good enough!
  13. I am suffering from withdrawls and lomg-drive syndrome today (and irritated that a 6.2L V8 is more fuel efficient on the highway, though it is far far too dangerous when overtaking). Fingers crossed for a good week next week.
  14. Welcome to boostcruising... Oh, hang on....
  15. As SupaTouring would say... Dave: A good semi synthetic will do, just don't use Castrol Edge. I use Mobil-1 though *grabs a bottle of Penrite HPR over Mobil-1* Dave: Yep, Penrite HPR isn't bad *Dave's eyes linger over to the shelves holding Mobil-1* Me: *puts 2 and 2 together, sighs* *I wander over to the shelf and switch to Mobil-1* I rate Mobil-1, very little consumption (compared to Shell Helix Ultra + whatever Toyota used) and it boasts good protection.
  16. Sticker has been delivered @ Micks place. Have fun tomorrow, some pictures would be nice. See you's next week <_<
  17. One thing I don't miss having in my Gen5!
  18. Sounds like you're from the states so there is definitely no shortage of short ram/cold air intakes (+ off the shelp headers for the 1mz-fe). You're probably asking the wrong crowd here, there is little stuff available for the Aus Camrys.
  19. We'll see man, I don't know what time I will be rocking up. It could be very late.
  20. Oh bugger, I can't get the sticker for Ash tomorrow; I am going down to the Hunter for the weekend. Can I drop the sticker in your mailbox sometime tonight Mr. Wheeler?
  21. yeah cuz i went to buy the sump bolt washer from toyota (bloody 1.50ea). the guy said that i'm supposed to change it every time i drop the oil. well i can tell u guys that mine lasted 7 yrs before i crushed it and it was plastic, not metal like the ones i bought last couple of weeks. (that is of course the original one was replaced by the plastic one i had on my car) While technically you should have a washer, I haven't had a washer for the last 30000km on mine :P

    Evo's 1zz

They fitted the sandwich cooler before the runners, somewhere in the plenum chamber area. For reference, they had the shop cut out the section and replace it with the intercooler. The height/position of the supercharger didn't change.

Sandwich cooler could be done. Have a look at this TRD sc for the 1mz...
  24. Dear Ash This came for me in the mail today. I believe it is yours. I will forward this onto you as soon as possible. Please attach it to your vehicle as soon as you recieve it. Regards - Andrew
