  1. I would recommend anyone looking at a diesel prado consider the 4.0 v6 pertol instead. I recently purchased a petrol one 2008 120 series after doing some thorough research on the injector issue. Yes Toyota know its an issue but here in Australia they refuse to acknowlege it. I get excellent results from my pertol model and it tows like a dreram. Plenty of power etc. with no downside to 4wd ing having the petrol. Service costs are cheaper too and service intervals longer. They are also slightly quieter inside.
  2. Milo 10, This is a very easy unit to install. There are no wires to cut and the steering wheel controls still operate as normal. The unit is Australian stock located in Melbourne. It is a perfect fit as it is the same dimensions as the original unit it replaces. It also has the option of connecting a USB connection ans also a i-phone charger wire. (these wires come with it and you dont have to connect them if you dont want to). I have a dashmat on my Kluger so i placed the sat-nav receiver under the dasmat at the front of the windscreen. It is totally hidden from view. The entire fitment only took about 1 hour. The hardest part is removing the dash fascia panels to get to the original unit. You must start at the top near the air-con air vents first. Make sure you use a piece of strong thin plastic to remove them otherwise you will damage them. Once you have removed them the rest is quite easy. I also changed the colour of the LED lights for my air-con controls by removing the small green rubber boots when I had the unit removed to install the GPS unit. Again, very easy to install and use. It is one of the best looking units available on ebay. cheers Dazz
  3. Hello folks, does anyone know how to remove the rear aircon controls on a 2008 KX-R kluger. I want to change the colour of the LED's to blue by removing the small green covers they have on them. cheers
  4. 2008 KXR just done 35000km. Still just like brand new.
  5. I just fitted an aftermarket satnav/bluetooth to my 2009 KXR. Purchased on ebay from Dig Options in Melbourne for $499 delivered to my door with I-Go mapping. This unit is a plug nad play so steering buttons etc all work and no need to cut wires. It fit straight into the original stereo hole. Highly recommed this unit. I will try and arange some pics of it as it looks like a genuine unit when looking at the dash. cheers Dazz

    KX-R 17" Tyres

I recently went down the same path when looking for new rubber for my 2009 kxr. Only got 25000km out of the original dunlops. I opted for the Bridgestone D683. Got em for $310 each. Noticably different feel to the car. It steers more positively and is quieter by far. They have noe done 6000km since being fitted and are still looking brand new on the tread. B)
  7. When I took delivery of my new Kluger it had 58 kms on it. Having said that a year before bought a brand new Camry Ateva and it had only 4 kms on the clock. B) B)
  8. I went the merlot red. Originally wanted the tidal blue but theree were none avail unless I wanted to wait for several months. Found a merlot one at a dealer interstate (Melbourne) already fitted with factory side steps, nudge bar and roof racks. Got these in the deal for $1500. Very happy with the merlot. Our other car is a carribean blue 2007 camry ateva. And yes....the red ones do go faster!!!!!
  9. Excellent. thanks very much for that. The diagram was a fantastic help.
  10. Hey, Wilscat... I tried today to remove the panel around the computer/airvents but did not have any luck. There is not much to grab hold of with my fingers and I didn't want to pull it too hard in case it broke. If you could supply some pictures it would be much appreiated by me and anyone else who may wish to remove their panels to upgrade thier audio system.
  11. Hi, all. Does anyone know how to remove the facia panel surrounding the factory stereo unit in a KX-R Kluger. I dont want to start pulling at it and break it. Im sure someone out there has had experience with this on their Kluger when repllacing their stereo. Also if anyone has any pictures could they please share. cheers Dazz.
  12. This is why the japanese leave our local manufacturers for dead when it comes to build and quality. Just look how clean and modern the plant is. Here in Australia Holden and Ford make do with plants which date back to the 50's and 60's. I'll buy Toyota any day.
  13. Has anyone done any research on this gps unit I have located on the net. I have been looking for that long now I am getting a little confused.
