    Vick's Aurion

Looks hot Vik - nice work.
  2. Looking sweet. Very nice stance and the Kappas look great (I'm a fan of the ducktail too, as you can see from my signature - great minds think alike )
  3. I got my 07 Prodigy in January from Pickles Auctions in Brisbane(although it was a fixed price car) for $19,500, she had 60k on the clock and was in verg good condition - that included tint and a Bluetooth car kit.
  4. I would have paid double for them - they have completely changed the feel of the car, she feels more performance orientated now whereas before it would go when asked but wallowed a bit around town, best $820 I've spent in a long time.
  5. Let me guess... Option 1 Garage? Oh wells, I guess where I may loose out on a slight drop in performance in the EVO's compared with the RPM's, I guess I'll make up for it in the extra width... and better driving I wasn't sure on the rules regarding plugging commercial organisations but yup Daryl you got it in one My 595RPM's were $205 a corner installed - a dead-set bargain in my opinon - and my 3 y.o son loved playing Forza Racing on their Xbox and big screen - strangely enough he was better at it than me (think I must be getting old - my hand-eye co-ordination has suddenly disappeared), then again he has declared that his life's ambition is to be a racing car driver and that we need a new house as we currently dont have enough space for his Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari and the Aurion
  6. I think you're spot on there Daryl. The RPM's do come in a 285/35/R19 but you'd need a 9.5in rim. I can put you in touch with the guys that I got mine from if you're interested. Cheers M.
  7. Just thought I'd add a few comments on the new rubber I've put on the Aurion. I had Federal 595RPM's in 225/40/18 installed on a set of Kappas on the weekend - initial impressions are very favorable. Handling is markedly improved, slow speed cornerning is a completely different sensation, roundabouts are now taken flat with little or no bodyroll at normal speeds (I'm yet to install my tower strut bar but I'm looking forward to this improving the situation even further). It could just be me but I think its easier to handle around town too, you seem to require fewer steering inputs to keep it on line. I also used to experience a slight wallowing sensation at slow speed, this has now totally gone. Overall ride comfort hasn't been impacted nearly as much as I thought it would (perhaps 10% but barely noticeable) and the compromise for the handling is certainly worth it. Basically the car feels much more planted. Only downside I can see is that there is a 2.9% difference in rolling diameter, which when added to the normal overread on the speedo has (according to the GPS unit) my speedo overreading by 10kph.
  8. Put the 18in Kappas and Federal 595RPM's on, installed the colour coded eyelids and some Osram Nightbreakers into the low-beams and gave her a wash.
  9. Another: I like this one too. BTW Ingres if you want to get rid of your Lexus grill let me know. I could be tempted
  10. Good tip - I was so excited to get to the wax stage that I forgot to get the Scratch-X out. At first I thought the white dots on the bonnet was the undercoat but it was the clay getting caught in the small imperfections. I got most of that out with some elbow grease but there are also some chips that have been painted over by the previous owner that are now more obvious, its really just the bonnet section that's taken the worst of it and its not too bad but as I said its just the fact that the other bodywork is so clearly reflective now that highlights the imperfections.
  11. She looks hot with the 20's on, they really suit the white car too, very nice. I wasn't game to go all the way so its 18in Kappas going on on the weekend - I'm hoping I wont regret it. Your wheels and 1stKill's old wheels are my favorites so far. Nice mix of class and agression.
  12. Hey Arc Not sure if you're looking at any other brands but I'm getting some Kumho KU31's in 225/45/18 for $192each in Brisbane - PM me if you're interested and I'll let you know where I'm getting them from. Cheers M.
  13. Gave her a wash, clay and wax - shining like a new shiny thing....
  14. +1 addicted to clay - just tried it for the first time and the results are amazing. The only problem now is that all the little imperfections in the paint are more obvious as the rest is so glass like.
  15. So maybe he needs an asterix after his plate (*) with some small print on the bottom like * pre 1994 models only
  16. Would have liked to get 20's but from what I can tell you've got $2k for the wheels (make sure the tyres are the right load rating too as apparently there aren't that many 20in out there with the right load rating) then to make them look right you'll need lowering and to lower effectively without the suspension bottoming out on bumps you'll need to spend at least $1500 to get coilovers so you're really up for at least $3500 and I couldn't justify that.
  17. Took mine to the panel shop - they just used double sided tape and some 3M automotive adhesive in a corking gun, hasn't fallen off yet. If you're doing it yourself make sure that you tape it down as the adhesive expands so you need to tape it down for a day or so. Hope this helps. M.
  18. 1963 MkII A Austin Healey Sprite She was a fully modded hillclimb car - mods included; Ford Cortina 1600cc with Webber carbs, Shelby Cobra style fibreglass bonnet to accomodate new engine, custom extractors, racing steering rack, upgraded suspension, short shift low ratio gearbox, rollcage, 3 point racing harnesses, momo steering wheel. Dash magnet of St Christopher (the patron Saint of travellers) on dashboard - previous owner was a church going man and and being a 17y.o with more balls than brains I figured I needed all of St Chris's help to keep me on the road. It was ridiculously fast to 100kph after which parts of the car would start to fly off which was a bit disconcerting. Was so tail happy in the wet that I ended up putting bricks in the boot so I could get around a roundabout in the rain without the need for opposite-lock, still had to take them in 3rd gear. Managed a couple of 720deg turns before I learned to drive it properly. Paid $2900, kept it for 4 years and thrashed it senseless, sold it for $3500 and regret selling it to this day.
  19. +1 on the tinted headlights - that would look hot.
  20. LOL! Anw, you've made a bad move, not the idea of buying the Ultra-racing. PM me to know WHY!! Hahahahah... Hey Vik Tried to PM you to see what I did wrong (like I dont have enough of that from my wife ) but your box must be full or something.
  21. Damn you Secaboy - I've just ordered the Ultraracing front strut tower bar....now to work out how to hide my car mod'ing problem from my wife I think I'll tell her that its a safety device, maybe part of a mandatory Toyota recall...
  22. I'll be getting a set of 18in Kappa's next week (courier permitting) so I've been doing some digging around on the rubber front - I've found KU31's in 225/45/R18 for $192 in Brisbane, reviews on the KU31's seem pretty good. The local tyre guys wanted $290 for the same tyre so I figure that this is a good deal.
  23. I've got to get off this site - you keep inducing me to spend more money on my car.....I'm going to digest the cost of the new Kappa's first and then get onto this Ultra Racing crowd for a set of bars - unless anyone out there wants to part with theirs, my bank manager would be very appreciative
  24. I got the Kappa's on ebay on the weekend so just working out when I can get them delivered should be in the next week or two - am thinking of some KU31's in 235/45/18 for the rubber so I'll arrange that in the meantime. Have been reading in the detailing section about claying the car so once I have the new rims on I'll give her a detail and take some photos and post them up in the members rides section.
  25. Looks awesome - the grill is perfect. I've just ordered some Kappa's but if I were going for black rims I'd definitely be doing the same.
