  1. Whatdoyaknow...?! A.rice gives me a mod tip and it works!!! jks dude! Thanks for the idea, BTW you're corolla has come a long way! Looking awesome!
  2. Jeffy- I like airbags but I dont like the loss of bootspace... cruzer - .. wtf?! HELL NO! lol! Im trying to fix it, not destroy it! A.Rice- hey Ive got one of those?! Ima try that right now!
  3. Thanks man... Yea that's the saying was trying to get at haha! It's raining here so no point washing the rav. Wonder what options are out there to lower it? Not to ridiculous lows.. But a lower stance thatll make it easier to enter/exit the car
  4. Looking at this pic, it kinda reminds me of chick that looks good from far away.. but when you get up close she looks far from good!? lol
  5. Just picked up the kids, took this on the way home.
  6. Yea jeffy, found it with my fingers, had no chance of seeing it even with the bumper off. The front of the car is back together.. I pulled the fenders out a bit again to align them better with the headlights before I put it all back on. On a side note, I dropped the last half of my pizza during lunch break, so it was an early start back onto work! Argh! Also, I realized the screw bit on the headlight adjusts the low beam.. So I adjusted the new one to match the height of the other headlight. On another note.. The RAV4 badges were giving me grief because they were half Peeling off. The colored bits needed a few sprays of rp7 to remove. At least now I can cut n polish the paint. Even when washed the 4.1 looks dirty. So I'll need to cut in the paint so it'll look less dull. It's school holidays.. Almost over. Once schools back in I'll be teaching again which is why I'm doing as much on the car now as possible. Once it's back to work, I may not be able to mod until after new years!
  7. Hey guys, went back to the wreckers for something I had a bit of trouble getting the first time! VERY faded ROLA badge. ROLA roof racks baby! $26 bucks! + $13 for the security key to unscrew the racks off the roof- bought from Autobarn. Replacement headlight also came through the mail! Stupid thing.. I was down to screwing the last bolt onto the headlight when it fell into a crevice next to the radiator. I tried to pick it up with my fingers.. Almost had it when it dropped somewhere behind the radiator where I just couldn't see! Had to take off the whole front bumper in order to find it! Right now Im taking a lunch break before I put the bumper back on. Headlight is now in place.
  8. FINALLY went to the wreckers and picked up a few bits n pieces that were missing since before I bought the car.. TAIL LIGHT SCREW COVER WIPER REAR ASH TRAY MUD FLAPS - Plus a front right indicator (practically new) and few other odd bits n pieces.. around $60! These all came from a 3door 4.1, which means the left mudflap has a hole in it for the exhaust tip to go through! (Toyota WTF?!?!) Regardless, the mudlaps fit perfectly with the screw holes on my rav.
  9. Hard to find or even sniff those low profile flares online! They look to be a Toyota US accessory though since a lot of Ravs from the US have them
  10. I was thinking if I painted it, I'd go gunmetal or some type of dark metallic grey instead of black for the plastics. The bomex frontbar and hood on that white rav is carbon fiber, not exactly black.
  11. Thanks for the straight advice man. Even after looking it up in Wikipedia it still sounds like the fees/taxes look to be pretty arbitrary.. I dont know. Straight n simple door to door seems to be the way to go.. even if you gotta pay through the nose
  12. Minus the carbon fiber hood.. Maybe
  13. Hey guys, Im interested in buying some car parts from NZ. I was quoted $295NZ to send it to a Sydney Port, which will probebly incur some customs clearance tariffs or something or other. I was also quoted $399 to my door. Im just wondering if anyone here has experience ordering things like this from overseas and how difficult is it to get things through customs without it costing an arm and a leg?!
  14. you know its school holidays when im a top poster :P

    1. jeffy

      jeffy

      nope, still me ;)

      hehehe :P

  15. This is far from where I am at right now but this is more or less where I aspire to take it... courtesy of "mensajero" of PuertoRico @ rav4wold.com
  16. Besides taking off the front bumper, there were bolts that needed to be removed below the headlight, under the wheel well, had to take of the plastic side panel to expose a hole which gives you access to another bolt, three bolts on top in the engine bay, as well as one bolt you need to access by opening the front door. I did the "smart" thing and use the drivers side fender as a reference for which bolts go where, so when the time came to put all the bolts back into place and I wasnt sure which bolt went where, I just ran around to the other side of the car just to make sure.
  17. Drivers side.. BEFORE: AFTER:
  18. Bought some panel beating tools and went to work on the fenders... $35 and a couple hours of daylight. BEFORE: AFTER: Im pretty happy with the reduced gap below the headlight... however I did just order a new replacement headlight so after I have that fitted on this side I'm hoping to line up the panels a lot better and reduce those gaps even more.
  19. Well what's different from the eBay letters I've seen is that these guys will do any font you please. Upto 25 letters but the price is something to scoff at... If you wanted it that badly well at least it's there if you got the $$$.
  20. Not sure if the mods will OK this but I came across this youtube video, then i googled it and saw they are on sale in NZ as well as Aus! If advertising this goes against the rules.. actually just in case it goes against the rules I wont post up the link. However, if you are curious, heres the video I found. http://www.youtube.com/user/PidplatesUSA#p/a/u/1/Niu6U_g1QjQ
  21. ARRGHH.. I planned on buying a cube cubic 7 seater after selling my 03 1zz... I hit a financial roadblock so that idea is on hold for at least the next year. Do you have to drive a box or could you just rock up to admire them up close??!
  22. buying passenger side headlight from www.expresscarparts.com.au. There cheapest price Ive seen online on new headlights. This includes Ebay for the same identical part. Hope to see it land at my doorstep on Wednesday!
  23. Had to look after the kids today so I couldnt go to pick n payless. Argh. Its my holidays anyway.. it can wait
  24. Just a quick rant... Although the guys at GENERAL JAPANESE SPARES contacted me quickly after my initial inquiry through their website, I wouldn't trust the accuracy of the info they offer on their site. Their descriptions are very non specific, claiming they were "wrecking whole car early and late shape engine, doors" When I received a call back, it turned out that the image of the rav4 they were wrecking (same generation as mine) on their site had been sold long ago. The only rav4 they had currently in stock was a 2000< model. Dont trust the site for up to date information regarding parts!
