  1. 21600 yea?

this is what it says on RTA website

"Stamp duty is levied by the Office of State Revenue when a vehicle is registered in a new name. The RTA collects stamp duty on behalf of the Office of State Revenue. You pay stamp duty on the market value of the vehicle or the price you paid, whichever is greater.

Stamp duty is calculated at 3% of the market value up to $45,000 and 5% on the value over $45,000.

For example, the stamp duty for a vehicle with a market value of $50,000 is calculated as:

    Stamp Duty on $45,000 at 3% = $1,350

    Stamp Duty on $5,000 at 5% = $250

    Total Stamp Duty $1,600 "

    END QUOTE.

stamp duty is $648 based on that amount youve given. i used the registration duty calculator to figure that out.. not the figures in the rta quote i added above.

check this website 2 calculate your stampduty

  2. yea i think my car is the same silver as 1zz's...

you hardly notice it in his pics but then again we are only looking at it in pics.. pics dont always look as good as the real thing

after viewing the pics i was thinking of spraying it some other colour (ive got a few different colours in the garage).

yea i read somewhere that you will notice the temp go down 5degreez.. if it dont then at least the thing should make ur engine bay look good!

but yea ill wait until i see this installed, in the flesh, and if my temp does actually go down b4 i decide what i wanna do with it.

  3. YOU'RE NOT SERIOUS about drilling holes in your car ,are you

Velcro will do the trick dude.....

unless you're doing some initial D moves while listening to your stereo ;)

obviously i dont know what id be doing underneith the passenger seat - thats why im asking whats up?! :P

ok so the amp wouldnt be fixed to the floor of the car right? just velcro...

but does anyone with a corolla get the problems with the amp getting bumped by rear passengers?

basically im after the safest out of the way place for the amp to be placed.

  4. It's not YOUTUBE, but thats me hooking up the snatch strap!

WARNING: There is a little bit of foul language in this clip.

    Enjoy!

    th_Swamped.jpg

couldnt tell by the video, but was a rag or something tied up half way along the snatch strap 4 safety?? pretty dangerous if there wasnt...

  5. just unsure as to whether its safe to just take a drill and make holes into the floor of my car to screw the amp into place. what if i hit something important on the other side??

also, my brothers amp is under his passenger seat (98 celica) and 99% of the time, if your sitting in the back seat and ur not careful, youll end up knocking the amp with your foot and fking up the cables or the settings. does this happen in your corolla?

if others have experienced that sort of problem, then i would like to see if anyone can help me with screwing the amp into place somewhere in the boot. have others in here done this?

    advice is much appreciated!

    jase

  6. herez the quicky photoshop i just did... not saying its a perfect job but im guessing that some of you were dreaming like me about what this kit would look like on our rollaz

sure u guys have seen this kit on some other thread in here..

i really love the front bar, but by the looks of it, it doesnt seem possable to modify the original bar to fit the aussie front end...

does anyone know/trust a bodyshop thats able to make custom front bars (not made of fibreglass)?

in syd/melb or wherever in australia.

  7. thats pretty fcuking disgusting...

so sorry that happened 2 u man.. saw ur car in the registry.. obviously heapz of work was done to it...

you know the thing is that any decent car wreckers or mechanicz or just ANYONE with some knowledge can strip a car in a very short amount of time as long as they knew what to do.

  8. Hi guys, I've a question for you.

I want to install the rear lights 2004 model of corolla (I've the 2002 model).

Can someone of you give me a website were I can buy them, with acceptable costs? (Ebay included)

    thanks :D

I would go searching the car wreckers for spare parts first.

i know its probebly hard 2 find new model parts from wreckers but you may be lucky!

  9. rear facing is best 4 sound. but not practical in my case coz i need the storage space.

but yea the difference in sound between the two positions isnt a BLOODYHUGE amount. I could hear that there is a noticable difference, but if ur happy with the side position like my sub box anyway, then it WONT make any difference 2 u.

i just wanted sum boom boom.. or doof doof... dependin on what i feel like listening 2.

    EDIT -

just installed KICKER ZX400.1 monoamp 2 power the 8" kicker :)

purchased @ 35% of what i would have paid @ JBHIFI!

    GO CASH CONVERTERZ!

  10. im actually happy with the work that ive done.

aint perfect because of the weight distribution but thats not an impossable problem to fix.

do whatcha want with ur custom sub.

as for sound quality and lookz im prettydamn happy with it.

but yea if u dont wanna worry bout the box just buy it from the shopz.

  11. suicide doors would be interesting.. i was actually thinking of modding my doors either with suicide or lambo doorz :P

but yea wouldnt do that sorta mod unless i really wanted a showcar.... i go 2 work/uni/groceryshopping in mine so it aint practical at all.

those kinda modz on a regular rolla would be like wearing a tux for a birthday party at mcdonaldz

  12. Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get a cheap rear whiper for a corolla hatch? Mine kinda "fell" off. Does anyone know if they make aftermarket ones and how much? I know toyota will charge thru the roof.

Am I allowed to legally leave it off? Thinking of getting it welded over coz i kinda like it without one if it wasnt for the dam knobby bit hanging out. If im shaving that I might as well do the back door handles too. hmmm decisions.

Maybe for now ill just replace it. Anyone got one or know how much?

wait wait wait lemme get this straight- your rear wiper "fell off", so instead of forking out the $$$ to replace the part, you want 2 get a welder to close the hole off instead?

ok umm.. think it may be a cheaper option to buy the wiper, dude!

when it comes 2 welding over stuff like that or shaving off the door handles so ur car looks cleaner, youll have 2 fork out a lot of money 2 get it done right.

you COULD get it done for cheap... hell i got a migwelder at home lemme do it 4 u! $50! less 4 cash! :P

you could get a bodyshop to fill the hole with a peice of sheetmetal and weld it on, grind the joins down smooth and paint it over... but in a few years, the metal would probebly warp and you would be able to see the shape of the hole again.. wont look pretty. itll look like a bad panelbeaterjob....

saw how they do that kind of job properly on the DIY channel on foxtel... they showed how to shave off the door handles off a accord or was it a civic? anyway it was a "showcar".. some kinda honda... 2door. i think "sandblasting" was involved.. not sure what it was called, but it involved a lot of sparks.

but yea either go to a wreckers specialising in toyota parts or get the new genuine part from toyota.

    thats just my 2centz...

oh yea if memory serves me correctly, that doorshaving proceedure cost $1000+(US) for smoothing over the holes left behind after the door handles were removed.

    jase.

  13. jase .. u seen my post ???? check my rides ... u can see my install .. or i will be at the shop on sunday sometime if you are there

hehe yea i saw ur post! nice job :P

i was actually trying 2 use your pic 2 photoshop the setup i wanted 2 do... but since u got that psp harness in the double din space and it hung just over the clock n stuff, thought itll be better off just getting a pic of my car and do it that way... hehehe

btw thats the xbox 360 setup screen in your lcd right?

i sold my 360 the other month
