  1. that program is hektic! too damn technical i dont know what the hell kinda information they want me 2 fill in! definately not for newbiez in the subwooofermaking business :/

anyhoo i think your info helped me out a lot more than that program, too tired 2 figure it out 2nite... maybe tomorrow.

im planning 2 make this outta fibreglass btw.

i learnt how 2 measure litres in highschool, 4gotten it since then. plus this sub is gonna be moulded into the right side of the boot so yea snug fit, and not a regular box shape.

seen quite a few tutorials on DIY fibreglass box's but they ddindt mention measuring the cubic feet 4 optimal bass.

like most other things in life i want to get this thing done right the first time so i dont wanna take chances on makin it 2 damn small

  2. yes as topic description asked...

but more specifically, the sub im expecting to recieve next week requires dimensions of " .33 - .75 cu.ft." (sealed box).

does that mean a minimum of .33 cu. feet and maximum of .75 cu. feet ..?

just checking am i correct on this assumption?

and since its .75cubic feet max. area inside the box, if i was to make the box any larger than what was recommended, will the sound turn out dreadful or is this a case of the more space the better?

also.. whats the best/easiest way to measure cubic feet?!

maths specialist please i need your help!

  3. Yeah, that's why I've chosen to go with just remote mounting the DVD drive. I don't want to be fiddling with the seat/boot/where ever I stash the thing to put a Disk in the drive so remote mounting works best. Plus you can buy smaller/lighter units if you get one without the CD slot.

What exactly do you mean by the term "remote mounting"?

  4. that aint no professional pic mate ...

trust me ... i know the photographer pretty well ... he is dodgy ....;)

what i just meant was to get a decent pic from one of the meets 2 put on these cards. just by seeing the large number of rollas sitting side by side in the 1 place is a pretty beautiful thing 2 witness!

  5. yea im well aware of the indash pc that goes with the lilliput screen...

    heres the link : http://www.brashimports.com.au/GL701-tc1000.htm

$1600 including delivery, not bad, but i want 2 hide the fact theres a carputer in the car!

im also kinda put off by the look of the face of the HU... and having the pc in the dash is kinda asking for people to come and break into the car...

thats y im considering putting the pc box somewhere behind the backseats or under the front passengers seat.

  6. 2din HU doesnt fit my plans 4 my system!

    k lemme explain...

ive ordered a 8"solobaric kicker coming direct from the US on the 13th of sept..

gonna make myself a custom fibreglass case to house it in the boot ALA silvabullits $300sub box

still gotta find a decent amp 2 power it 4 the right price.

future plans is to get this:

LILLIPUT IN DASH MOTORIZED VGA TOUCHSCREEN, AM/FM, 4X45AMP, USB.

as you can see its 1DIN.

    to go under this i need a 1din dvd/vcd/mp3/cd/ ipodready-(hopefully)

Yes im aware of alpine HUs are able 2 play all regions but yea, my nearest jb hifi didnt have 1 in stock 2 show me. they only had the model with a lcd, and obviously im not after that 1 or any lcd from jb since they dont have a VGA input.

i need the VGA screen 2 view the carpc im planning 2 put together.

havent bought most of this stuff yet... still in planning stages but im pretty sure what i need 2 get 2 make this reality :)

below is the case im planning 2 get... looks roughly the size of an average amp.

  7. i may have been naive by assuming that all corollas came from the same place... since 4 ages ive seen people keep wanting their cars JDM and others talkin bout their cars being made in SA... so which 1 is mine? how do i find out where it was made? may be a stupid question but i never thought to look 4 where it was made.

  8. im shopping around 4 a 1din dvd/cd/mp3/ipod ready head unit that doesnt have region coding for the dvd.

i checked JVC and seems theirs only plays region 4 or dvds that can be played in all regions, and 2 be honest id rather hear from people who have already gone 2 the trouble of finding it and buying it and have no problems recommending it.

so yea if you can include price and where you found it as well that would be great.

    jase

  9. personally im not really satisfied with the designs that have come up thus far....

the only pics ive seen that have made me think WOW are the corolla meet pics!

ive only ever been to 1 meet back in july... took some pics but since it was at night, my camera settings were off and the pics came up blurry.

it seems 2 me that if you want to get people 2 join our club, why not show a professional looking pic from one of our meets?

    example :

sorry blue_rolla 4 using your pic but i needed 2 demonstrate my point

  10. hey man i hear ya no doubt i was stupid and foolish

    BUT

no one was on the rd i was by my self and the rd is pertty much flat and dead straight

and it was quit late ..... so hell why not

my and my car is stock man didnt get the chance to modify it yet hehe

but yeh i feel the pain and its not the first time ive been suspended so yeh call me stupid and a half wit if u may but i think ive really learnt my lesson now

thats really good 2 know man.

theres really gotta be something wrong with you if you didnt learn from something like that

  11. went with my mate 2 check out an FTO he was interested in buyin n when we were checking out the engine, the salesman came up 2 us proclaiming with hands pointing to the engine "THIS IS THE WORLDS FASTEST CAR!........" then he paused... we were like WTF?! then he finished his sentence... "for 6cyl"..

thought he was kinda inflating the description of the car but yea. nice car :P

  12. this happened last nite

got caught 110 in 60 zone .... ok fair enuff ...... BUT they ***** suspeneded me on the spot and took my liscence so i couldnt drive home the farkers ..plus not to mention the $1500 fine + 6 month suspension

umm.. THATS FINE SOUNDS PRETTY DAMN FAIR 2 ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if im driving with my wife and my babyboy sitting in the back in a 60zone, the last thing i expect or want 2 see is someone driving 110 down the lane next 2 me!

its 1 thing 2 modify your car so its lower, lighter, faster etc. whateva, but theres gotta be an appropriate time and place for showing off n speeding at 110km!

besides thinkin bout the copz catching you n the fines youll have to pay, PLEASE consider that there are other drivers on the road that want to get home in 1 piece!

i aint hating you, but what you did just was some irresponsable sh!t n now you got 6 months to think bout that.

  13. Sorry Jase, i didn't really asnwer your question b4 LOL - the wiring is included - wiring for

    1. the power mirriors - had a sneaky peeky for the wiring assembly by taking off the front door trims and the wiring is pretty generous - the wiring is split into three lead connector thingos (will take pictures tonight :D) U know the adaptor's for the wiring and stuff? -- well, that isn't included so i think some soldering or maybe $2 d$ick smith application maydo ?

    2. the indicators -- the indicator wiring is pretty long that you could connect the two wires together and go skipping  -- sneaky peeky as well...and i have N -to the F- to the idea -__-;; .... i'm pretty much FUBAR on this point

the Just Car's assessor dudeagadget comes in today - so hopefully the Goose can be in the panel beaters/rehab by Thursday *here's hoping  **must scab free install**

yea i think ull be alright with the power window wiring...

but yea, the indicator wiring sounds heaps long so yea i think if you connect those to the indicators positive +negative wires, then youre set.

as 4 changing the bulb, theres always a way round those things, just gotta think.. could the mirror be removed 2 expose the back of the light bullb? the lense of the lightbulb might have a little spot where you could possible open it if you stuck a coin or a flat screwdriver into it? i dunno i havent taken a look just taking a guess

  14. wait theres no directions on how 2 connect the wires????

im assuming you had to run wires down to the closest indicator and splice the wire & twist n solder em together... if that makes sense.

the wiring is included is it not?!

    No wiring instructions man...D to I to the Y >_<;;

    dats fcukd man!

but yea it shouldnt be any different to the time i installed the LED windshield water spray thingys on my bundera. made them blink just like my indicators. but the wires on those nozzles were heaps long they reached all the way to the indicators on the headlights. connected them just as i described in my last reply.

HOW LONG ARE THE WIRES IN THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS?

  15. great effort northy!

just outta curiousity, did you use the original parts from your car to attach the lcd or did you buy an extra 1 just incase you want to revert back to stock?

    jase

  16. After an anxious 3 week wait - i have finally recieved the mirrors!!

    The Carbon Mirrors!!! O_O

I tried them on a demo run tonight:

    1. They fit nice B)

    2. I wouldn't know how they looked 2 meters away as the screws they provided me are too small to secure the mirror

    3. Connecting the power mirror unit up isn't too bad - but it's the indicator assembly connector i'm worried about

    4. I don't know what colour the indicator is... so if it's blue - i'd be a cop magnet ... if it's white - it's probably equally as heat seeking but i can live with it

Do any of the TOCA community know what size screw can be used to firmly secure the electric mirrors?

Cheers to Jason for pointing me to the right direction - you now can ask the missus for permission to purchase these mirrors :P - i'd go the non power adjust ones - less hassle and cheaper!!

So far...it appears to be $80 well spent - as opposed to the ridiculous 475 for one mirror from Toyota

    NICE 1!!!!!

MY PARENTS ARE STILL IN LAS VEGAS... U THINK I SHOULD ASK THEM TO GET IT SENT THERE? APPARently they dont have a weight limit on their baggage on the way home hahahahha :))

if i get those then im going to get the same model... power window option.

nice buy jules! hurry up and tell us if its a perfect fit so i can order it already! parents are staying there til mid september.
