  1. No outputs for this kind of thing, but you could go with a Line Out converter to convert the speaker output into a signal suitable for feeding into an amp. Usually has RCAs for this purpose. HTH
  2. I think this is one of the limitations of the factory satnav...cannot easily get any useful info out of it. My wife has the vehicle out at the moment, but I'll doublecheck when she is back. As for the dust, you must have been going through a lot of it to fill up your unit. Not sure what to recommend there. I do know that the guys at places like Northfield offer good advice and are used to opening these things up. Might be worth a chat with them. Cheers
  3. I have a 2006 Grande with SatNav and have had no issues with either v14 or v15. v14 was larger than 4.3GB and was installed on a DVD+RW Dual Layer and played fine. v15 appears to be smaller and will fit fine on a single layer DVD. For those interested in v15, have a search on the forums for "whereis v15".
  4. Hey there, great ride (love the combination). How's it ride compared to stock???
  5. Hi there I'd be keen to see some templates for these adapters, but cannot see anywhere where this may have happened. I did see references to some Camry ones on the ToyotaNation website, but the images are no longer there. Anyone have any templates online yet?
  6. Hi There I've got the genuine Toyota satnav in my Prado, and a couple of years ago remember reading about this on some of the U.S. forums. Just trying to find this now reveals the most common problem for this is that the Navigation system must have the speed sensor wire connected so it can compute things as it is going along. Without this connection, the symptoms are exactly as you say. From a U.S. site which resells genuine toyota navs : Toyota OEM Audio, Video See Nav Install for details on the speed sensor. It is part of the R12 plug on the back of the stereo. What model is your car? Perhaps it had the navigation system fitted later and this has never worked, or maybe is simply playing up. Anyway, Toyota should be able to fix for you if don't feel like looking for yourself. Hope this is of some use.
  7. Daryl...thanks. Yeah was only looking at mounting on the plastic trim originally. Will have to remove that and have more of a look. For some reason my searches did not come across your article with pics. Thanks, that helps heaps.
  8. Guys I've got my 6901 unit installed and am in the process of doing the camera (got the barrel one). I know others have said they got it installed OK in the hole above the number plate, but for the life of me I cannot seem to work out how to do this and get the angle right (ends up pointing mostly down at the ground/bumper). Also how do you get it to actually mount as there is no mounting hardware. I'd appreciate any advice and even some close up photos would be great. DJKOR/Nate...I know you guys have this same one at least. Are you able to help? Cheers Michael
  9. Good one Nate...just placed an order. :D Will get it next week and start playing.
  10. Hi Nate Thanks for the info. From what you are saying I gather that it is tight enough to sit in the location? Did you need to drill/file anything? And I guess it needs to be sealed to stop water entry? How bad is the camera angle? This weekend, I'll open up the boot and have a look to get a better idea. Cheers Michael
  11. Hey guys, thanks for the welcome. Yep...do love the car so far. It's good to see what others are doing with theirs and sharing ideas. I'll have to try to get out to a meet and say g'day. 1stKill...car would look probably look good a bit lower. I'll have to see how we go. Certainly feels very stiff suspension wise and can feel a lot of the road, but then again my other ride is a Prado on fat tyres. ELEGNT...let me know your thoughts on the Auspack. I'm pretty much sold on the idea, and just need to figure out the last bit with the camera. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks guys...good to be aboard. Cheers Michael
  12. Guys I'm going to install the AVC-6901 incar GPS/DVD unit from Auspacks and had gotten details from Rob about cameras. Have pretty much read all of the excellent stuff on these forums around reverse cameras, but still have one question. Rob from Auspacks stated that most Camry/Aurion owners installed the "Angle Mounted Camera" as seen at : http://members.optusnet.com.au/auspacks/reversingCamera.html but this unit looks different from most of the photos of the bullet-style ones I've seen in the forums. The other unit (Bumper Camera) doesn't look to have a mounting bracket so don't know if this one can be made to fit in the hole above the number plate. What camera do people actually use??? Any assistance appreciated. Cheers Michael
  13. Hi Guys Been lurking for a little while waiting to buy my car. Yesterday arvo (pouring rain), took possession of a Silver Ash Aurion Sportivo ZR6. It's a secondhand one with very low K's (11,000) and seems to have been looked after well. Came with aftermarket alloys (17" still) with the original Energy tyres and tinted windows. Haven't had to do anything with it yet. Will probably chuck some floor mats in shortly and definitely looking at the Auspacks GPS unit and reverse camera. Anyway here is a pic of it. Was supposedly clean before the rain. Cheers Michael
  14. I have just done this exercise for my 2006 model Prado. After much research ended up buying the Hayman-Reese fitted Thule Hitching Post Pro (4 Bikes -- Model BA 934 XT) with the optional no sway cages. I haven't had 4 bikes on yet (only 2), but there is heaps of room and this thing is tough. I also like the way it can be tilted down to open the rear door without complete removal of the rack. The securing straps are also dead simple to use and really secure the bikes in a tidy fashion without marking the frame or getting in the way of cables. You can see more details at : http://www.thule.com.au/products.php and select "Hitch Mount Receivers" for a PDF. Hope this helps. Cheers Michael
