  1. Hey this is my first post!!

I just bought some lids and front grill from ignition-x. Just wanna get some opinions bout wat colour to spray dem. I've got a white conquest and originally thought 2 paint them white too. But then afta second thoughts, mite b too plain. Now thinking of black. What do u guys think???

    Cheerz!!

As long as you actually paint them black and not leave them as the plastic black.

Ive seen a white car and a black car with the unpainted black plastic colour grill, it looks like crap.

You can tell its unpainted from miles away!

Assuming you're from SYdney, heres a link on where to paint them, and how much it costs to get it done.

  2. that looks pretty interesting. how big are they though? single shop? that could be worse. say theres only 10 employees that know the system, that means theres 10 people that know exactly how to steal your car, all of which would have seen your plates and possibly have access to your address (say you fill out a warranty card?) all they have to do is follow you home..

thats worse case though. best case is i might check them out! :D

I think their repuation is worth more than a car. LOL

Ive heard they are the preferred choice for Porsche/BMW/Merc/etc

All it takes is one car to get stolen for their rep to hit the ground..... somehow i dont think a $20,000~$30,000 car is worth it to them.... at least aim for a lamborghini :P

They arent a single shop, they've expanded Australiawide.

Right now im tempted to ditch my $1500+ insurance to get them to install a 3 or 6 point immobiliser alarm system instead.... only thing stopping me is that there are other ppl driving the car.

  3. you tried these guys yet?

    www.brant.com.au

Located in five dock, Subaru use them for their STI's (and the STI's are apparenty damn hard to steal, and its even equiped with a anti-hijack device)

There's a range of alarm systems ranging from 3 point imbolisers to anti hijacking devices.

"No, all our systems are installed by BRANT trained technicians, thereby the wiring of the system stays “in house” and is not out there in the public domain. Thus ensuring added security for the system. "

That i think is the most important point, last thing you want is to get a top notch security system only to find it disabled cos the information on how to get around it is all over the internet!

    http://www.brant.com.au/Content_Common/pg-...ity-Systems.seo

    AA05 All black wiring

    2 remote transmitters

    3 point immobiliser

    2 stage shock sensor

    Battery back siren

    Doors, boot and bonnet

$498.00 Fully installed (well i assume it is cos no one else can install it but them)

  4. I bought my conquest auto for $24700 driveaway.... after reading up on rollas on this forum, i wish i paid an extra $3000 for the Sportivo (driveaway price too). :(

Mums fault for making me buy auto so she could drive it too.... I want the climate control and the LIFT!

i hate you all you sportivo drivers! :P

  5. Go down Parramatta Road...turn left on to Liverpool Road and hit the gas for the next 500000000 km's...

then do a right at woodville rd and ur there..

    :D

Going this way is probably the quickest from Slurry Hills.

From memory there are two speed cameras, both on the hume highway between ashfield and enfield.

Alternative route would be M5, get off at Henry Lawson Dr, and drive up towards Parramatta.

Henry Lawson Dr becomes Woodville Rd @ the Hume Highway intersection (There is also a red light camera here as well)

  6. Lamborghini Gallardo - Wrecked by Dubai speed bumper

"The government of Dubai thought it would be a good idea to put a speed bump on a street where locals tended to speed. Problem is they didn’t tell anybody. This Gallardo hit it at over 60 MPH.

There’s actually a video of the accident. The back end of the Gallardo goes about 5 feet off the ground."

    Big video

  7. hahah .. thats funny ...

    but not possible ...

the hose has to be directly connected to the high pressure machine ..

As it also relies on the pressure from your tap to be at a certain flow rate ...

the pressure cleaner dosent suck water ....

so there is a slight flaw in that idea ...

    actually, its not impossible.

If you have a look at the bunnings link

    http://www.bunnings.com.au/site/awdepfour....09&depnum=10873

All the high pressure machines (other than the GMC ones) have the ability to draw from a bucket!

" Capable of drawing water from a tank or a bucket rather than just a hose outlet. 2-year standard warranty."

With my pressure washer it doesent work.

I connected it up to our water tank and there wasent enough back pressure to make it go.

Mind you it was only a cheap water pressure washer from The Warehouse. ;)

    ahh crap.

So you're saying your pressure washer was designed to use either water from a tap or water from a bucket. (or did you mod it so it could take water from the tank?)

Yet when you connected to the water tank/bucket, there was insufficient pressure for it to function properly? :(

  8. Ok ...

Firstly ... High pressure cleaners are awesome .. ( any excuse and mines ready to go .. )

I have one like this ..

One of the most usefull things that I own !!! .. and well worth purchasing ... but only if you know that you are not buying to it wash your car .. coz ....................

Secondly ... The water restriction rule still applies in NSW even for High pressure systems... (as the hose is still directly running through it )

and we cant use it on any "Hard surfaces" including cars.

    EXCEPTIONS

All exemptions are subject to change, following regular reviews as the drought progresses. The following are still permitted at any time:

Using a bucket or watering can to wash and rinse vehicles or water lawns and gardens.

Seeing we can use a bucket to wash ours, what if........

We had the water from the tap going into the bucket.

Then had the high pressure water cleaner sucking the water FROM the bucket.

Technically speaking we are filling up a bucket, and connecting the high pressure hose to it, isnt that legal?

  9. Will having a CAI make it harder to pass my rego when my car is more than 3 years old (other than going to joe bloggs mechanic who passes you without even seeing your car - just in case rules change on who can issue em).

hrmmzzz...maybe you should take little steps to tuning first? ....hehe check out PROJECT EL CHEAPO - hang around and grab my (formerly MAP81's Sportivo option muffler) ...but then again, El Cheapo is lookin' at CAI's atm B)

You still trying to sell me that muffler? :P

I'll consider it, though if i do get CAI, i might as well get a full exhaust setup to to compliment it, though its more so the auto transmission that worries me <_<

How is project el-cheapo coming along anyway? Got wheels yet?

  10. I bought a K&N filter that fits in my airbox, do these CAI's work with that, or did i just waste my money buying this filter?

Police can't hassle you as the filter isn't in the engine bay and is not visible at all.

Then where is it located? What happens to your old airbox?

  11. Let me add that to get a hire car i would have to book 2 weeks in advance...

    Terry Shields Toyota ..Parramatta

Squeeks in the clutch when i push the clutch in....

after a while it goes away...

squeeks that dont go away are coming from the wheels or suspension at low speeds..talking 20km/h or so..

I dont recommend going to Terry Shields @ Parramatta.

My mate had his Corolla serviced there for his 40,000.

The idiots put the rav4 spark plugs as opposed to the normal ones.... made the car shake like hell on cold starts (though a loose coil was also to blame for that, the spark plugs made it a crap load more obvious).

It took Peter Warren Toyota @ Liverpool to fix all that crap.
