Hi Mate and welcome. Cant say I had that problem with mine it picked up Central Coast stations all the way up in the Blue Mountains but I have since swapped it for an aftermarket one which has great reception also. Not sure what to suggest except keep complaining to Toyota as it doesnt sound normal to me.
