  1. Here are the pictures my friend Joel (the one who turned up with his Missus Di in the black Fairlane) took. If anyone wants the plates blanked or wants the full size pics, let me know and I'll email them to you or edit out the rego as required.
  2. Hey hey, good to see you here mate! You know I'm a fan of this car, can't wait to see it again, be great if you could make it to one of our meets sometime soon in it! :)
  3. That's the intake pipe from behind the headlight to the air box, and the HUGE baffle that hides under the front 1/4 panel that I was referring to above.
  4. It's a resonance baffle. Well, not sure if that's the correct name for it, but what it does it reduce the intake sound. There is another one located in behind the passenger side front 1/4 panel, if you take out the intake piping from behind the headlight up to the airbox, you'll see a hole down next to the battery, that leads to another one of these plastic boxes which is much bigger. What it does is exactly the same as when you blow over the top of a bottle to create a whistle. Now I can't explain it correctly, but if you have that being done the right way, it can cancel out other noises. That's what these do, they cancel out some of the induction roar and make the engine seem quieter. It's not vital to the engine running, however you can't just remove it, you'd also have to plug the hole it would leave somehow. Unless it's cracked, I'd leave it there. The other one behind the guard you could remove if you want for a cheap cold air intake and a tiny bit more induction roar,
  5. Yeah, I think once I put better wheels on mine and drop it a little closer to the tarmac, mine will stand out a bit more, although I'm often told the colour mine is isn't exactly common, so it stands out already...

TroysRollaSX + friends: Joel & Di (the two that arrived in the black Fairlane to Bundoora Park, will hopefully be in Dis KE55, otherwise they'll be in the Fairlane), and my mate Aiden (Who turned up in the Merc, who said he'll probably go in a Daihatsu) 13. 14. 15. Looking forward to it, sounds like it will be another great day!
  7. Thanks everyone for an AWESOME day! I'm glad we got such a good turnout. I know I was a bit quiet and shy, but as I turn up to more and more of these and get to know everyone better that should become less and less of an issue. My mate Joel that arrived with his missus in the black Fairlane took some great pics, he's going to give them to me, I'll edit out the plates and put them up here. I'm glad it didn't turn out to be as bad heat wise as expected, but the heat was still starting to get to me, which is why I bailed when I did. I hope everyone was happy with the choice of Bundoora Park - I was surprised how quiet is was there, it's usually busier then that, I guess the predicted heat scared everyone away! I'm really looking forward to the next one, will be another great day for sure!
  8. Hahahaha, I'm just about to leave, go wash the car, and head on up... Cya's all soooooon!
  9. Crap, I'd better get some sleep! I'll wash mine on the way up in the morning :)
  10. Awesome, can't wait for this! Are you still going early? Let me know, I was thinking getting there a bit before 9 to shotgun the place. :) Absolutely will be mate!
  11. The BBQs aren't open air (naked flame) wood type, they're gas and safe to use even on a total fire ban day, so no worries there. Just don't forget the sunscreen and some drinks and we'll be right! :)
  12. I think the #1 thing we should all remember (not that I think it will be a problem) is a relaxed attitude and our sense of humour! :) I reckon even if anyone did it wouldn't fit in our cars!! Hahahahah :) Just bring some sunnies and a hat ;) I'll try to remember the sunscreen and aeroguard too. I will try to remember to bring the spray-on sunscreen and aeroguard too, Particularly seeing as I'm the sort of person who just has to LOOK outside and my skin starts to burn! Hahaha
  13. Looks like you all had fun! I couldn't make it, at the last minute I had to help out a mate, and was down in Frankston from 9pm until about 11pm. Oh well. I'm still up for the Bundoora Park one!
  14. I don't mind bringing oil, paper towel, tongs (have about 5 sets here, long story, don't ask) and some paper plates, if that's any help, and someone else can bring the other stuff. Oh and I'll bring a small esky full of ice too. EDIT: I also got permission from my mate to share this picture he took at the lookout at Bundoora Park, which I think shows how great pictures taken up there can be:
  15. Cool, if I'm not there then, I shouldn't be far, and I've PMed you my mobile number too mate. At least that way if you need to leave the spot for any reason before everyone else gets there, it won't be an issue :)
  16. The name of the park is Bundoora Park - http://www.bundoorapark.com.au/ I always bring along sunscreen, the spray on kind, because my skin burns the instant I so much as look outside! Going to be a great day, I'm looking forward to it!
  17. If you spot my car (the one in my avatar and sig, pretty easy to spot a gunmetal grey early 90s SECA SX with dark tint) then I and the rest of us won't be far away, and I'm sure one of the organisers wouldn't mind PMing you their mobile number so you can call if need be? I'm diabetic, so that's why I'll be bringing along some food myself, as much as I love chocolate in all it's forms, I'll have to pass on that, but I'm sure nobody else will complain! At this rate it sounds like we'll need 2 of the BBQs just to have enough room to cook all the food, hahaha :)
  18. Awesome, I didn't know about nearmap.com, thanks! I'll arrive early too to help shotgun the BBQ, seeing as this place was my idea, it only seems fair, what time you planning on being there? 10:30am sounds like a great time to plan for everyone to arrive, get some photos and so on before we cook up some grub to me. Troy.
  19. Yeah, swung by for a bit and saw the lookout place. Good spot but won't fit everyone at once. :) Ahh, yes, I didn't think of that. Here's a photo from a meet I went to with a different car club a few years ago there - a couple more cars could have fitted, but not many more: And the same lookout from google earth: You can bring stuff to the BBQ. I'm thinking, if you buy anything, let me know how much you bought it for and I'll work out how much I need to refund you (to make it fair). Bundoora Park looks like a winner! :D Cool, I'll probably bring some things along then, because I might also have a few mates tag along on the day too, but I won't know until the day, so it's just easier if I bring food too. B) Have you seen me eat a BBQ? Nah I know, important people confirm that they are going, and I'll try to organise right amount of food. Thinking of making it simple as possible, it will be sausages, bread, onions, pasta/potato salads, greek salad (maybe), anything else? I can't think of anything else really, asides from maybe some hamburgers and/or shishkebabs (not sure if I've got that right, the meat, onion, whatever else on a skewer), that's what I'll probably bring, so if that sounds good to anyone else, say so and I'll make sure I bring plenty Damn man, that sucks. I wanted photoshoot lol. Went before, one of the car park in River Red Gum is gravel (road is asphalt), which leads to a full asphalt car park - this is where I'm planning for us to meet up! :) Probably a wise choice, biggest car park there and as long as people don't go flying in (which I hope nobody is silly enough to do) then the gravel will not be an issue. Hahaha I did cross country there too back in the day - I went to 2 schools not too far away, both of which are now closed, Preston East Primary and "Preston Secondary College" (Better known as Preston Tech). So yeah, I know this area pretty well too. This is a park I like to take my son to, he loves running around there! And spot on with how busy it gets. Here's a pic of the gravel car park from google earth: Most of the asphalt car parks are a bit on the small side, they're all smaller then that one.
