  1. The current 'performance' in the UK is the 2.2D4 turbo which puts out 178hp/132kw. It sucks how we only get the 1.8L Dvvti . How about the 2.4L outta the camry or the 3.5L outta the aurion!!

But at the moment the current craze in OZ is economy and the 1.8L sits right in the middle. I don't think it will be revolutionary with an engine that is pretty much a slightly more economical version of the 1zzfe.

  2. Doesn't the suspension and brakes needed to be upgraded in order to pass engineering??

If he doesn't upgrade the brakes, at least the suspension should be done. I would hate to drive that thing with lowered king springs only.

But I'm pretty sure he will sort out the brakes and suspension out, since he already bulletproofed the engine. Why not go the whole way.

  3. Faster Entry I think. His car had much better traction going around corners and all. In terms of power to weight, I'm pretty sure the s15 would have him. But the instant boost and lower loss through the Mid engine layout sure helps a lot

  4. I'm not sure about the kit, but the one that I got does not sit flush.

You need to do some filing/grinding around the edges to get it to sit perfectly.

But once you've done that its looks much better I think then putting an empty din pocket in.

  5. Been in my friends 4agze with smaller pulley attached...........its crazy, and the way that thing goes around a corner is nuts...If I tried that in my sportivo i would of understeered into a house.

He was in the process of putting a turbo on, sorced all the parts.......but then decided to 'settle' down and go after a skyline.....lol

  6. Its all about media control these days.........its a consipiracy to get all of us............to hell with TT!!

My experience is that just as many full licensed drivers commit just as many bad decisions or displaying poor driving skills as p-platers.....but the only problem is percentage.

I find it funny how their way of 'protecting' the younger generation is by introducing ways to keep them off the road. We need more training for everyone in general, not just the younger generation of drivers. Maybe we should have a licensing scheme similiar to the people in germany.

  7. Let me see............you will hear it rumble before say 3.5k and after that it screams all the way to the redline acompanied by a metallic tone change at that point, thats for a 1zzfe (auto though).......and if you have a sportivo it will be howling once in lift its not funny......its louder then you would expect it to be

If you already removed your intake snorkel and reckon the sound is louder and more sexy, just wait until you slap the CAI......its at least 3 times louder on a 1zzfe and 5 times louder on a 2zzge...

  8. Nope, the sportivos never came with strut tower brace.

Makes a difference when cornering, the car feels more flat while attacking corners and its smoother in the process....without it the car feels unstable, kinda wobbly feeling. If your getting your car S/C then I recommend it mate. :P

I have a whiteline front strut brace, although I have heard stories of the strut brace failing (snaping??) I've had no trouble with mine whatsoever.

  9. Generally you will start to notice it from around 2K upwards......well thats with my ces cai anyway.........you will definitely notice it once past 3K in general......below 2K absolutely no difference

  10. Same same, I learnt by tearing my car apart too....but nothing broke so i was fortunate i suppose.

Only problem for me was that because I had already sound deadened the doors, it proved even more difficult to fiddle around.......and the limited space, means plenty of cuts on the hand and arm :(

I've left my interior lights on before and my car has always started up no problems....

  11. My sportivo came originally with king low springs and that was already annoying when going up driveways and speed humps........I took them out and put the stocks back in and they were so much better. After an initial inspection while taking them out, one of my shocks are starting to leak......only been on for about 20,000km...........
