Might be a smog pump of some sort that pumps fresh air into the exhaust system to pass emissions test.........I vaguely remember something like that....

Furthermore they would lose cred to their name if they just did a simple rebadge to a JDM car. TRD was created for a reason, and they make sure that they stick to it. I don't think PBR would he happy either for a simple rebadge. If they did a 3.5L rav4 it would be sad though as the USDM has a 3.5L Rav4 already. Bring on the yaris I say, 120kw just to get ahead of the polo gti and ralliart colt.

We are a small drop in the ocean compared to the market out there. A 3.5L corolla will conflict with sales against the aurion. A supercharged yaris with around 130-140kw wouldn't be too bad I guess, and taking into account that the new rolla is one heavy medium car (1300kg OMG).

Typical power output of a huge turbo...good to see a new record. I wonder what is left that is original to the 2zz engine though.

My best gain so far was the fitting of a heavier gear knob, not sure how it will go with the TRD SS in the coming months though.

Is the power rating only with using Jap spec fuel??

A search on the forums will help you find the pinouts and wiring diagrams. After thats its just comparing the runx/sportivo pinout against the celica pinout (pre-03) and re-pin them accordingly. Everything is pretty much solved except the temp gauge, which IMO isn't worth the trouble (just go aftermarket).

I'm running around sourcing connectors to make a fields harness and some better calipers........stupid JDM St185 255mm disc.....shocks are going, insurance, rego, tyres....blah....if only I could use that money in some other way <_<

Greddy emanage is good for the job that it can do. I'm sure low end torque will come to life which is what we need in the 2zz corollas. I only got the PFC because it was damn cheap at that time.....$780 delivered.

Those side covers are so not worth the money, just get the fascia kit they look better in my opinion. IIRC it cost me only $40 which is the same as the clip on covers if not cheaper.

Can always just grab your utility knife and cut the SD off from the service holes....

I thought drive shafts were one of the last things that would need replacing in the drive train after constant abuse.....

Then again anything lower then 26psi and trying to get a good launch can also kill your driveshaft at the strip.....I've heard it somewhere though......

I personally love the sound of the intake more then any other sound that the car produces....

Everytime I get near an exotic n/a car, i'm just wishing that the driver would give it a bit so that I can hear the sweet sound of the engine/exhaust........but no one every does it. The only one that I have ever heard was a maserati...and that thing was fast and sounded really nice.

I've also never 'raced' anyone on the street......only thing that races me is mums in the toyota avensis........I know its sad.

They are just using bandaid patches hoping that these patches will eventually solve the problem. The problem then is if they did it properly once, it most likely would of been cheaper.

In my rush to get into the car to test my CAI out, I forgot to plug the maf sensor back in........even then the car started and ran fine with the engine light on. Did you disconnect your battery when installing it??

Or would I be able to buy the connectors at the Toyota dealers and make one up myself?? Won't be able to go to the dealer until monday, can't wait that long

Looking at installing the PFC with a harness instead of chopping up the factory loom to get it done.
