You should change the button to label it as nos or as vin diesel would say
"naaaaaaaaaaws"
lol

I'm coming!!! Finally will get to meet all of you!!!
Don't know how many times I have said that though <_<
Anyways, how long do you guys hand around for? until what time?
Cheers

Don't bother with those so called 'chips'. Its a waste of money!! If your looking for gains then a piggyback computer might be your answer...

I thought CT26 turbos were used on gen3 SW20s... I haven't actually seen one but the earlier CT20 3sgte turbo's are tiny weak little pieces of crap.
Damn Toyota and their dodgy turbo model numbering...
Toyota and there numbering game
CT26's came on later model 3s, 7M, and the vvti 1JZ
CT20 came on the 3s and 2JZ(CT20A) as well

Let me see what I've got aye
SRI Apexi Filter
CAI K&N Filter (Just took it off recently)
Spare generic Filter
Apexi PFC
CT20A turbo
Boost and AF gauge
Coilovers coming tomorrow (that I will put in)
Stock sway bar
Table is kind full if you ask me....

I think its posted over at MO (matrix owners) forum. Cost about $300(???) to make all up and you can only move your lift engagement. There was a very detailed write up on it. I remember going through it and decided that maybe an PFC is better....its currently sitting on my desk in the lounge room lol
-
Might have to go custom with the turbo setup infortunately........don't try the US as they are LHD
-
Panel filter is a waste of money.......the panel filter does not induce a significant pressure drop..... Save that money towards something better. If you want a throaty sound, remove the snorkel from the airbox. Its free and sounds great

I just bought the turbo because at that price I wouldn't mind if it just sat on my desk as a paper weight, it has no shaft play and was recently rebuilt.
What kind of response can I expect from the CT20A onto the 2zz though??
I'm still reading through all the tech on turbo and its associated design parameters.......haven't gotten that far though. :(
I know that with a smaller a/r low end response would be great but top end suffers.
-
Do hubs have to be brand new though.....is it possible to source them second hand??
I think the older models had bearing that would be exposed once you dismantled the hubs, while the zze122/3 had sealed bearings instead
-
I think rollamods or ralyrt mentioned that the zzt231 celica hubs are a direct fitment onto the zze122/3 corolla's......hope that helps. If your going brand new then trust me......it is really expensive and definitely not worth it.
IIRC mickytee said that its illegal in nsw......but all the s13 guys are doing it though.... 4 stud to 5 stud conversion

I'm guilty with the talking about S/C'ing my sportivo :(
I have already seen the light Bill Almighty
Turbo or S/C......hmmmmm
Have a rebuilt CT20A that came of a JDM JZA80, got it dirt cheap.....but I'm a bit worried about the thing with the 2zzge though and its high redline
-
I would do in the following order......
Tyres - If you have really crappy ones
Rear Sway bar
Front Sway
Springs and/or shocks
I found the sway bar to have a larger effect on the overall handling compared to the strut bar......as some people would say, a strut bar is a rice factor

About $7k for a 30% power increase? With most factory turbo cars $7k can easily double an already adequate (in most cases, with exception to 'kw junkies' like me) power output.
I suppose if you want money well spent then that would be the case.......but since when is modifying cars money well spent anyway
A similar result may be comparable; the celica owner from Brisbane who Rotrex-ed his Celica achieved 200hp wheels, translated to 140kw-150kw wheels.Thats very interesting, seeing how our stroked 2ZZ makes the same amount of power.
Who says u need a blower :P
If your racing I suppose it would be fine.....I would prefer the blower on the street though. :)

seems like this thread is being hijacked about evos, there everywere these days, you see them more them WRX's.
more people should supercharge there sportivos.
Are there any sportivos that have gone all out on the engine producing excess of 200kw? to shut those Evos up? Is it even possible 2 ge high figures on a 1.8L engine?
You need to check out Xoom's ride in the members section......

Cool!!
When do you expect it to arrive?? and the all important question of how much it will cost approx delivered?
I'm thinking of custom caliper brackets at the moment with skyline r33 4 pots, but that means upgrading to a larger rotor (WRX STI)
mate after a bit of research i think ur best bet (given price / availability of parts etc) is to get r33 GTST calipers n rotors or r32 GTR calipers n rotors ..... rotors r 296mm and we think the calipers will be fine to sit under 16's .......... hopefully my setup arrives soon and ill take a pic 4 u ;)
Pics would be great!! Looking forward to hearing it soon........I was so excited and later disappointed with the FTO calipers......bloody 2mm and it doesn't fit!!

Talk to an engineer, but I believe that it shouldn't be a problem at all....
What I'm currently doing requires discussion with an engineer though <_<
-
I reckon I'm always changing my bloody mind....
Picking up turbo soon, and then its time to DIY design the manifold....need to enlist the service of a welder/cutter though.

Autobox might have trouble shifting in the first two gears unless you limit you limit your boost
Labour will chop you heaps.....
I'm starting my collection at the moment oh so slowly.......
Corolla Sportivo
2nd hand turbo
PFC
Manifold next in line

so in theory a sportivo exhaust headers, downpipe, cat back would be a straight swap and fit my axleback?
Why would you want a whole exhaust system connected to your axle back??? :P
Generally no, usually when we refer to the sportivo exhaust on an 1zzfe. IIRC its from the cat converted to the muffler, either get it welded into place or have it flanged up and bolt on, the general shape is the same as that of the 1zzfe.
Cheers

light weight gear knob ~120g
stock ~220-240g
Heavy ~400g +
Now if your having some slightly shifting issues, i.e. seems a bit hard to get into gear. Go the heavier gearknob!!
If their is almost no resistance (numb?), then whatever you like.

haha nice, there seems to be a lot of interest and yes it is rare that a topic is not about a CAI!
All up for the cams and install (not including tune) it cost around $1000...which is quite expensive. Even though Crower say that stage 1 doesn't need a tune, which they don't, i would recommend getting one. I will be getting one soon, as i think they really do benefit from one.
Also regarding cams in a NA car...there is noticeable gains up in the rev range, especially in 2nd and 3rd, that is what i have felt anyway. However, the gains in a FI car would be much better, with a good tune.
$1000 USD or AUD?????? If it cost that much installed then I wouldn't mind a stage 2 put into my sportivo. Sometimes it feels like it takes forever to get into lift....

I have three layers.......lol
outer panel, inner panel.......and behind the door trim.....
The best thing to do, even if you do not want to SD your doors is to in actual fact seal up the service hole.......it gives your speakers an 'enclosure' to work with to produce excellant mid bass.

Should check the 1/4 mile database...........and are those figures correct before the ecu fix (apparantly we were missing about 20kw)??
It also comes down to how you drive it.......keep in lift and expect a low 15......miss it and it will be a high 15
I can do 0-100km/h in about 7.5s with another passenger
