  1. Hey Dan, To pin point where the exact leak(s) are without doing actual water test is very hard… From my understanding of what you just mentioned, your repairer should be covering this under warranty… But running ideas possible causes, • Sunroof and surrounding seal replaced properly? • Air cond piping? • Firewall area plugs all there? • Is the plenum panel drainage clogged? • Was the front windscreen removed? Re-seal properly? • Door seal on properly? Hope this helps :)
  2. Totally agree, talented. But, how did a 15 year old get $1000 dollars?? *** hustle hustle
  3. VFX, there is something about your avatar, I can't stop starring at it Cost is relatively cheaper because I am doing it at cost, but lately all the suppliers have been increasing their prices. Stupid carbon tax :( I would like to re-trim the interior and sound deadens the whole car. For me comfort is quiet important. Not a real fan of bad noises New wheels and suspensions will be nice, but do not want police attentions. Any recommendations?
  4. You will need to remove the spark plugs by using a ratchet and a socket. They will not just pull out. Spark plugs are usually one of the two sizes - 13/16” or 5/8”
  5. yea.. i do, a mechanical and collision repair workshop The respray do exceed the value of the car T__T
  6. DAY 3 Primed the body of the car Painted all the small items (grille, outer door handles, front door mirrors and boot lid spoiler) Painted the front and rear bumper bar
  7. I received my Mechman 220 amp high output alternator today! Very excited. Just a recommendation for people who are going to buy a high output alternator, get it custom built by a reputable supplier. I purchased my first high output alternator from eBay. It was a real big mistake as it was incapable of charging at an average standard of 2 amps. It was only charging the battery at an average of 1 amp – insufficient. When I have my headlamp, ac on high, demister on, blinkers on and music playing loud, it actually drains not charge my battery… almost got stuck in traffic Cheap HO alternator from eBay, should not buy Mechman HO alternator Mechman Ho alternator next to genuine Toyota alternator Will post some images once i install this :D
  8. DAY 2 Primed the front and rear bumper bars. Prepare the rest of the car for primer.
  9. Since I purchased the vehicle four years ago, the previous owner had many smash works done on this car. It has been a real eye sore for me, as I can see that the car is multi-coloured. Tuesday this week, I decided to do a complete exterior whole car respray. Thought I take same photos and share them with the people of this forum. I will be using will be the PPG paint system with the ceramic clear. These are used on Mercedes refinishes. DAY 1 Strip and repair all damages.
  10. Hi all, Recently I have become a bit more active on the forum, thought I introduce my trusty Camry. It is stock with no major modifications. INTERIOR MODS: • Interior LED lightings (Instrument cluster, dome lamps, foot wells, A/C control panels, gear selector and boot area) • Audio system (Sony headunit, JL Audio front component speakers, Fusion zrear speakers, Soundstream 4CH amplifier, Kenwood 2CH amplifier, Kenwood subwoofer, AudioControl equalizer, Monster cables) Yes, they are all over the place. Truly regret not planning the system properly. Had to buy different items at different times due to different issues and tight budget. • GPS HUD EXTERIOR MODS: • Reverse Camera • Headlamp Projectors • HID headlamp kit • 15% window tinting • Weather shields • Reverse HID • 17" Aurion Sportivo Rims w/KU39 ENGINE MODS: • 220 amp high output alternator • Big three wiring • Optima Yellow Top • All alloy radiator • NST Pulley SUSPENSION & HANDLING RELATED MODS: • Whiteline front sway bar • Whiteline rear sway bar • SuperPro top engine mount steady bushes • Kluger front caliper & rotors • King Springs (1 Inch lower) Any comments are welcome.
  11. Cable rarely breaks... The cable is actually part of the door lock assembly.
  12. Geez, all these replies, I guess I was too slow on clicking the "Add Reply" button! lol As per what Andrew said... most probably the inner door handle.
  13. Hi Matt, Few possibilities… 1. Connection on the cable is damaged (closer look at your image, your one seem okay) 2. Cable not connected properly onto your inner door handle. See image. 3. If you cables do not connect properly, you will need an inner door handle. $37 from Toyota (69205YC040B).
  14. Hi Matt, It is rare for that cable to stretch… When you pull that cable, do the door open?
  15. Hi Matt, Front or rear doors? There are no cables for the inner door handles… If it is the rear door, check the child lock.
  16. For the GPS software, majority of these Chinese units use iGo8. I have been using iGo on my mobile since 2007; when I bought my first GPS phone - Asus P535. I personally like it a lot better than TomTom, Navman and Garmin. It comes down to personal preference. Some Kenwood, JVC, Sony head units also uses iGo as their GPS software. Pioneer built in GPS are terrible. With the Chinese units I have tested, many, the iPod function sucks! No flexibilities, hard to find songs, etc. Prefer the iPod functions on the Pioneers. (Haven’t tried all the major branded head units) Decent sound quality means a lot to me because I spend more time listening to music than using any other functions of the head unit. When I installed my very first Chinese unit, I was so disappointed the sound quality, but due to the initial hype and excitement of all the fun functions, I attempted to fix the sound by purchasing a crossover, new component speakers, amplifiers and equalizer. None of these helped much. So I binned the head unit. As for the reverse cameras, all the new head units with a screen will have reverse camera input. It is not just the Chinese units that have them Choose wisely… and make sure you plan your system before you install.
  17. +1 Steven's post Personally, I am not a fan of Chinese branded head units. Bought two different ones this year, was a real waste of my money... They lack too much on the SQ. Other than that it was fun with many functions.
  18. I do not think there are any after market wiper motors for the CV36 Camry. Try your nearby wreckers, new ones cost around $550
  19. I wouldn’t bother with used ones, too much time spend on trying to find them with no guarantee that it will be good condition. Get them from Toyota, by memory, they cost around the $90 mark each. You will definitely need to remove the door glass and trims in order put the rubbers.
  20. If it is browny/reddy, most likely you will need to do a coolant flush. It should be red/pink in colour. Hmm... there are no mystery here, it is actually straight forward. The locksmith will definitely be able to sort out your problem with the boot lid key barrel. 2002 Camry do not have combined key and fob. Fob comes seperate. To program the key fob, cycle off/on three times then press the fob.
  21. Hi Thommo I have a similar Camry. In my opinion, it is not normal for the temperature to go above half way at all. Firstly I would check if you have sufficient coolant (open radiator cap). Is it full? Clean or dirty? If the coolant is fine, it may probably be your thermostat. For the boot lid key issue, see a locksmith. They will be able to re-configure the key barrel. As for the remote locking, you can get a key fob from Toyota. They are inexpensive (by memory around the $50 mark). It can be easily programmed. If you are in Sydney, I have used Michael from Sydney Security Locksmith when I had the exact same issues - boot lid key barrel and remote problems. Hope this helps.
  22. Correct me if I am wrong… Both have the same body. In terms of the suspensions, rear ones are slightly different but will fit on your V6. The control arms are the same. The hub assembly will be different. Hope this helps.
  23. Another possibility… by memory, these Camry has a switch for the accelerator. It may be due to faulty/insensitive accelerator switch? Your car is still under warranty, should take it in to Toyota if you have any concerns. As for the fuel consumption, I get approximately the same mileage in my 2000 V6 1MZ Camry. When I do add fuel additive, I get around 600 km from one tank (60 litre), also North Shore driving.
  24. It is your car; you can do whatever you like with it. By memory , the 35% darkest legal applies to the front two door glasses and rear screen. As for rear door glasses, you can apply any darkness tinting.
  25. In NSW, darkest legal is also 35% tint.
