  1. They check your cars now that you do your rego? Is that a NSW only thing? This kinda sucks that you have to bring your car in for an inspection before getting a rego, tho it might be a good excuse to get a few hours off work
  2. shame i see an auto there tho :( Cuz they rule! GO TEAM AUTO! + Go team "who can only drive an Auto"
  3. Similar with what jb747 has pointed out, if it was your daily driver and you go through peak hour traffic 5 days a week it would significantly increase your consumption, also depending on your driving style. Remember reading somewhere that if you want to save fuel try not to rev above 2500rpm. I get around 14L/100Km on my 2004 V6 Camry with 98 Octane fuel. It's mainly driven through daily peak hours and the shopping trips on weekends.
  4. So when's the big review coming along? Share the love!!
  5. Maybe it's a good idea to get some number plate protectors? At least they make it that much harder to "steal" plates and hopefully they'll turn to other easier targets. Well unless they rip it off! :(
  6. That just sucks! How did you find out what they've done? Did cops turn up at your home?? With petrol prices as low as they are now compared to a few months back, people should be able to afford petrol!!!
  7. Why does work have to ban Youtube!!! Why does good Youtube links only come up when I'm at work!! Bookmarked for home reading...
  8. What if I'm getting a loan for it??? Not everyone has that amount of money lying in their everyday bank account. In fact you'd be stupid to have that sort of money in your everyday account, could be better elsewhere earning interest! today's financial advice brought you by mulla. all good advice, all the time. hehe jk!http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/style_images/1/folder_post_icons/icon6.gif ROFL... yep and if anyone has any spare cash burning a hole in their pockets I'm more than happy to take them off ya!

  10. I hope I'm not one of those that's holding you up :P I'm always super slow when there's a speed hump... but I'm generally fast-ish around non speed humped parking lots. V(Sportivo)6 - Very interesting list!! More to add to my in car post it note together with parking instructions :D
  11. Big Pete - Sorry to hear that similar misfortunes happened to you as well :( Hope you'll have enough to get it redone soon! There's just way too many idiots on our roads. PTIVO_LUVA - I always try to find a safer spot whenever I can. One beside a wall / pole so people don't open their doors and hit me, one that backs onto the wall / garden rather then one that backs to another car, never park beside a 4WD, sometimes you don't have a choice when it's a busy car park with people waiting on the driveway for spots, you pretty much have to take anything that turns up :( It's booked in anyway to get fixed... just hope it'll be over soon and I can be happy with my Camry again :P
  12. Hey All, Argh… Got into a hit and run at the supermarket yesterday Some fool scraped the paint off the rear quarter panel, bit off the rear door and bumper too!! No one’s bothered leaving me a note about it considering it’s a busy parking spot, there’s bound to be people that’s seen it or at least heard something. Anyway, was quoted $1700+ in repairs!!! Going through insurance and having to fork out $450 excess :( Need to invent cars with 360 degree cameras with continuous monitor to see what kinda idiot would do that!!! Booked in for repairs in 2 weeks time… It’s just such an eye sore considering it’s on the drivers side… can see it each time I go drive my car… Kinda feel uneasy too while driving after the incidnet that huge scratch is just stuck on my mind :( Just feel the need to vent, thanks for reading :)
  13. Argh... certainly don't want any knobs falling off!!! Guess I'll keep the old method, my previous car lasted me 15 years on that without any probs... Big thanks for everyone who offered advice! Much appreciated :)
  14. Thanks guys for the parking "tip" Tried that today and it seemed to work ok... However, "sometimes" when in N and with the handbrake on, the car would continue to roll back on a hill?! Is that because I haven't engaged the handbrake properly / hard enough? I've pulled it up till there's harder resistance and stopped. That's probably how hard I normall pull it in my old car and all other cars... Should it be pulled harder :( Maybe I should to back to the old method :(
  15. Thanks OH84BY for the protection tho they might actually enjoy the tickling Blue_Stivo, nice to be reassured that I'm not the oldest one around here... tho I have a feeling that I might be classified as an oldie in a few years time
  16. Hi my name is Michael and I'm a n00b here <_< / 29 (just about the oldest ones around) :( / from Melbourne I love my Camry (hopefully I don't get picked on by the Corolla drivers around here) :P
  17. So is that the "proper" way to park for any auto cars or just Toyotas? Never heard of that before, might try this strategy next time! Might have to write an ugly post it and put it in on the gear stick as a reminder :P
  18. Thanks for the advice! Sometimes when I pull the handbrake harder I noticed it doesn't roll as much or not at all. I was afraid of "damaging" stuff by pulling on it too hard, hm... I'll pull on it harder next time! As my partner always complains "Stop worrying and just drive the thing"
  19. "WAHAHA" on a Peugeot 206 "MSPEPE" on a Hyundai Acent (I think from memory) "NOTAX" on a ute of some sort (from a few years back now) All in VIC
  20. Thanks for the quick reply! :) It's good to know that it's not only me. Being the first Toyota ever for the family, I wasn't sure if it's Toyota or there was some problem with my car. Anyway now I can stop worrying about it and continue to enjoy my car. Absolutely loved it!!
  21. Hi All, Been lurking around for a while, definately learning heaps from the people in the forum. Now I have a question of my own I have a 2005 Altise V6 that I've purchased back in Feb 2005 and ever since I've got the vehicle there's been an issue with parking on a slope (not a massive 45o slope but even a little gentle one). The car seemed to "roll back" say a cm or two upon releasing of the brakes. I would engage the handbrake and release brakes and the car would roll back or forward a little each time. Told the dealer about it during a service and they claim that it's normal. We have several other cars (2006 Honda Civic, 2005 Hyundai Elantra) in the family that I've driven but they never have this "issue". Just wondering if this is normal for the Camry / Toyota? I find this rather annoying and I can't say park too close to any objects behind me fearing that I would hit it once I release the brakes. Thanks in advance for any tips!
