Totally agree on the price front, unless you're an environmentalist it takes years to recoup that price difference through fuel savings alone. But nicely done on the review, never thought the Prius would be that good of a drive.

20" on my camry azura 03. Wow looks sweet How did you find the ride after? A huge difference in terms of feeling the bumps and all? Also did you "feel" slower on accleration?

Recently changed the rims on my gen 5.5 to 17s from stock 15 steelies. I can definately feel more bumps and rattles. I'm surprised it made so much difference seeing 17s are a stock option :S

Thanks everyone for the continued input into this oldish thread :) I think the removing rims & cleaning is a little much for me... I guess it makes it much easier if you have one of those electric um... electric... nut remover Only have washed them once with soap... probably won't need the special rim product in a few months but it's always good to know in advance :)

I used to wash with soap too but after a year or so brake dust will gather in hard to reach corners :( I was thinking that using specific wheel clearners would help. I might wash with soap for now and if dirt starts gathering I'll use wheel cleaners to assist :)

Hi all, Recently fitted some new rims to my camry and does that make the car look soooo much different! Anyway been looking at some wheel cleaners to clean them when they're dirty and on some products they say that it can only be applied to rims with a "clear coat" finish? I've tried to google my answer but I gather it might be a bit of a noob question that it's not published . Anyone know what this is and if I can tell if I have them or do I need to contact the manufacturer? I've got some xhp sabre machined/gunmetal rims if that helps. Thanks in advance

Recieved letter 2 weeks ago, going to wait for next service interval before getting it fixed. Never experienced the issue. Also I noticed the letter came direct from Toyota not the dealer. Which might explain why some people didn't get it if you purchase from private seller?

I guess the main reason I'm debating with myself if I should go with a dealer is from all the articles I've read about needing to check owner history etc etc when purchasing privately. Since it's not something I've done before I'm just a little scared to go down that path. Might ask a few friends who's purchased privately before for some tips and just tag along with me!

Hey All, Due to a change in work I might need a reliable car to perform my job. Don't really want to use my primary car a 2005 V6 Camry for it due to high fuel consumption and the fact that I've only got 20,500kms on it at the moment. I do get reimbursed for travel but they do it at a rate regardless of engine capacity I'm thinking of spending around $10K - $15K (absolute max) on a 2nd hand car and just use that for work and the Camry on weekends / after hours etc. What can I expect for that price range? I'm thinking about going to a dealer, I know they're move expensive but the warranty and added peace of mind that it'll be legit (not stolen etc) is good for me. I've never purchased a 2nd hand car in my life (1st car was a hand me down family car, second was the Camry) so what should I be aware of? I plan to get RACV to inspect it too, is that worth the cost? Had a look on carsales.com.au, is that a good place to start? Is physically visiting the dealers worth it? Still waiting for some 8800GTS drivers to be avaliable and some DX10 games to go with it! I suppose as long as you have a modern PC and can locate all needed drivers and software. Remember that things like anti virus / drive defrag software etc will need to be updated too. Then you should be good to go, keep in mind that DX10 is going to be Vista only or so I heard?

Great stuff alphacool, I wish I could be the one test driving it <_< Never been to Calder so I wouldn't know what the first corner was like... Probably get a weird look if I tried taking my Camry there It's definately good to know that Toyota has managed something quicker than the Commordor / Falcons and with a smaller engine capacity too! I actually saw one on the road this morning on the way to work! I was turning right and he was coming in the opposite direction. I was like "What car is that?!" (Saw the Toyota badge)... then I realised it was the Aurion but didn't really get a detailed look. Maybe someone doing a test drive?! Oh alphacool, how does the Aurion compare to say an AWD vehicle? Was there on at the test location? Is there any sign of torque steer with the Aurion? Great review BTW

Ah learn a new thing everyday!! Clearly don't see the point of enforcing wiper blade changes tho. I mean I don't see the authorities "profiting" from this exercise, unless they get some sort of kickback from wiper companies <_<
