welcome aboard... also added a 2nd section awaiting a second members imminant arival :P
  5. check this thread pinned at the top of the forum http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...?showtopic=3683
  6. check the valves... simple test is the apply some saliva (spit) to the top of the valve and see if an air bubble forms, if it does, get a tyre valve tightening tool and tighten and check again. If there is still air, replace the valve as the seal is busted... :) hope that helps also get a hand held (analogue dial type) pressure meter as the servo ones are known to show some pretty dramatic variations... The older style ones are actually better then the digital ones too ;)
  7. I think what Max fails to realise is that many of the guys here are mates with people on the OzMazda forum, and many of us are members there too. There is a healthy rivalry and yes early on the Mazda boys believed they were quicker (thanks to some 'clever' journalism), but they have been proven wrong time and again and now accept that it IS a real challenge to beat the Sportivo. Every time there is a joint meet up it is the same result, the Sportivo comes out on top. Sure the car in not as refined and 'nice' to sit in, but that's not the point, the Sportivo is a car that is all about one thing... it's engine... and it's a little ripper!!! :D It is a car designed to be driven well, it takes time to learn to drive 'properly' in it too... why don't you come out to one of the meets and see for yourself just what can be done?
  8. If you do not wish to upgrade the rotors just yet, the Bendix Ultimate are recommended by Bendix for the Celica rotors (which are the same material as the sportivo ones) so there is no mismatch issues with these. Will need to be double checked for standard corolla discs but I think that are OK too according to Bendix, but best to check.
  9. who get's kickbacks from who?... that's right Shell
  10. Just a quick reality check for a few people... A 30 y/o motorcyclist was killed yesterday after hitting a rockwall in the Royal National Park. Condolences go out to the family and friends of the man. This stretch of road if a favourite for many on this forum and I'm just giving a work of caution and another reminder to be careful when driving this stretch of road, or any for that matter, as can be attested to the wreck that was witnessed by several members following the meet the weekend previous. Could we all be sensible and extra careful this coming festive season. The last thing I want is to hear about a wrecked Toyota and then to find it was someone from this forum (or any other that I follow for that matter)...
  11. did I mention how useful a long sleave 100% cotton T-Shirt is ;) but the hoody on Northy's link would be great too :D
  12. Mercedes Bens SLR McLaren as a daily driver McLaren F1 road car for the weekends ;)
  13. noticed in todays paper that Truscott Toyota at Five Dock has the Sportivo advertised at @$27,888 drive away with window tint and reversing camera included. 16 available ;)
  14. FFS guys... someone just tell him that RSM = Rev Speed Meter... I'm guessing it's the APEXi one that you have Vitagen? btw, what ever happened to that common abreviation sticky that was going to happen...
  15. we have Cabramatta, Fairfield and Hurstville... what's your point...? Justin, if Brennden can get a good deal on the T-Shirts it'll still come out better when you include postage to something done at commercial rates down here. Why do you think sooooo many companies manufacture things in Asia and transport things all over the world... in the real scheme of things transport is not that expensive. If we get say 20 delivered from Brisbane to Sydney it will come out pretty cheap actually ;) The best thing would be for each party that has a proposal to get a quote and find out it would cost camparatively. Get them all made in the one place though as they will not be the same if made by different companies... Can I stress though that the best shirts to get are 100% cotton long sleeve B)
  16. I'll make it Tuesday night Justin... I really need to shop for some brake pads Would be good to do that with the reps there...
  17. if you listen to the cars coming off mountain straight you car hear the other cars around him in lift... that was what I was referring too... my post does say lotuses ;) listen carefully :) that short stretch between mountain straight and the hairpin before they go over the top of the mountain is the bit I am talking about... it sounds awesome :D
  18. I also need 100% cotton... long sleeve t-shirts are also great for things like drag and track days (you need full length cotton clothing ;) ) as a hint ;)
  19. HANS = Head And Neck Support SAFER barrier = Safety Absorbant Foam Energy Reducing barrier
  20. Ralf managed to blow-up the first V8 of the testing season today... the best part was Juan Montoya (Ralfs ex team mate at Williams) spun off on the spilled oil... :D looks like Toyota have found the engines limit though... now to improve...
  21. Vortex98 is better then Ultimate... ;) it's not the same as Mobil either... if it was, why did it take so long to get on the market when Mobil Syn8000 has been around for years (was the 1st 98 octane on the Aus market)...
