  1. If it's only stubborn residue on the surface of the clear coat then a clay bar should clear it off, if it's eaten into the clear coat you can get some cut polish and lightly rub the area hopefully taking fine layers of clear coat until it's gone, this can be done by hand (had to do it when I de-badged my car due to the color differnce of the paint exposed to sunlight).
  2. I choose to believe there is a clear distinction between spirited driving and hooning :P

If anyone is running late please call me on 0411983777 and if anyone else wants to share around their numbers on the day just in case anyone stops unexpectedly Thanks all
  4. Hi Danny At this stage I've planned it to be on Saturday the 31/05 meeting up at Greenacre McDonalds at around 9am for a 9:30am start. 1 Crypt 2 Rob 3 Yuri 4 Windsor 5 rentaspace 6 GTL05T 7: Hiro 8. Rolativo
  5. Hey Danny welcome to the club :) you're more than welcome to come to the cruise, if I don't hear anything next week in regards to the meet up location, I'll just set it as Greenacre McDonalds probably.
  6. And goes without saying, no burnouts, hooning or any antisocial behaviour, I'd like this to be a nice sendoff for a guy that did a lot for the Toyota owners club and was just an all around top bloke.
  7. Hey All Apologies for not getting around to this sooner, below is the route map I'm planning for the cruise, it will essentially go down the royal national park to the ocean road, a little bit of time on the freeway and then up to Robertsons Pie shop, one of the last cruises I personally did with Pete. What I need help with at this stage from more experienced or senior Toyota Owners Club Members is the meet up location, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know and I'll modify the route accordingly. https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/-34.0533857,151.0487992/Robertson+Pie+Shop,+4400+Illawarra+Hwy,+Robertson+NSW+2577/@-34.2966614,150.7158438,10z/data=!4m24!4m23!1m15!3m4!1m2!1d151.0141003!2d-34.1837311!3s0x6b12dcc25bad301d:0x13017d67e7ae74f0!3m4!1m2!1d150.9780143!2d-34.2421976!3s0x6b12de74c0d1ff15:0x13017d67e5965ac1!3m4!1m2!1d150.844353!2d-34.6641675!3s0x6b136c6ebe65c4fd:0x658f777aae6788d9!1m5!1m1!1s0x6b1375025c520b8d:0x938cd27970c7bd74!2m2!1d150.626333!2d-34.585956!3e0 Ideally we'll be doing this on the 31/05 and we'll have everyone be at the meet up location by 0915hr for a 0930hr
  8. Wow they look mint :) can I ask where you got it?
  9. Oh well Alex, next time right :) I knew it was the manual one thanks to someone else pointing it out, plus I read a little bit of your build log for the manual conversion and performance exhaust center posted some pics of the exhaust work you had done...... reciting all that I realize I kinda sound like a weird stalker promise I'm not, just really into Caldina's :P
  10. But there was a single black Caldina GT4 that turned up drove straight past the group and into drive thru then left, not sure if that was Alex but oh well no harm done :)
  11. waiiitttt a minute, were you the black caldina that looked amazing as all hell? if so NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i wanted to see that car so bad, I have been wanting a Caldina for so long :( I'm so sorry about the behavior of some, maybe you can come along to the next meet/cruise? If it's any consolation if it was yours as soon as I saw it, I couldn't take my eyes off it that and it getting compliments from a few of the guys standing near the white GT86 so bummed by that
  12. It was nice to kick off the year with a meet and to catch up with new and old mates. Dissapointing behaviour by some but I guess that's to be expected in any car scene, no harm done. And Frag welcome to Toyota owners club, amazing 6th gen considering how much you paid for it :P Everyone stay tuned, next months meet will be a cruise in remeberance of Big Pete (69.Nix), if anyone has ideas as to where they'd like this cruise to be held or go please let me know, otherwise my default at this stage is a trip down to Robertsons Pie Shop, the second last Cruise I did with Pete. In this regard I'm not entirely sure where the meet up location should be prior to the cruise so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. It will most likely be held on the 31st of May and kick off at 9:30am as the drive down will take about 2hrs Also I need someones help with rolling shots if possible, I've got the Camera just need a passenger
  13. Me too not entirely sure if this will go ahead, organising an annual meet is not something I've done before, if someone more senior and knowledgeable than I would like to organise it and need my help more than happy :)

Do a quick search of Ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Scion-xB-Toyota-Rukus-Rumion-Genuine-OEM-Side-Mud-Flaps-Guard-2008-2014-/181238488291?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a32a7dce3&_uhb=1 or cheaper option http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Scion-xB-2011-2014-Splash-Mud-Guards-Kit-OEM-NEW-/310793006676?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item485cb4ee54&_uhb=1
  15. Also Red Toyota emblem makes the Rukus look like Rudolf :P (it's a compliment) Haha thankyou, its actually orange but I have just painted them black now and blacked out all the back lights and reflectors and painted the rims black. Looks so much better Really? O.o well I am slightly colorblind so wouldnt surprise me :P I've used nightshade spray on my taillights but Im not exactly happy with the results, not to mention Highway patrol just so happend to have a word with me at a rest stop on my way up to coffs harbor from Sydney, so next step might be pulling a part the tail lights and spraying those chroms bits black. May I ask how you did yours? or better yet happy snap

    servicing

9 times out of 10, people who claim to be getting magic results from Royal Purple are suffering from the placebo effect - "I just spent $150 on an oil change, I must be getting awesome results", despite a $20 bottle of Penrite probably giving the same results. Unless you're running a finely tuned race engine that you regularly tear down and inspect/rebuild, and/or doing used-oil analysis after every oil change, you have no way of really "proving" that one oil is better than another. The Ruckus has the same 2.4L engine as a Camry, it's not a Ferrari. Good quality name-brand oil that matches the manufacturer's recommended viscosity will be more than sufficient, spending 3-4 times that on RP for maybe 1-2% gain (if anything) is folly (and certainly not worth the outlay) Completely agree, on a stock motor there would be little to no difference, I'm assuming what they felt was probably just the fact the car had a good service (who's car doesn't feel a little better after a service). While there probably wouldn't be a noticeble powergain I wonder if there would be a difference in it's longevity, I'm sure it would advantageous to use a better quality oil for the life of your car rather than HomeBrand but then again not my area of expertise and would love to be educated :)

Another Question. What Oil are you guys using that are self servicing / Elsewhere ? I know my mechanic does use genuine toyota motor oil but purely from a warranty perspective I don't know what other oil you could use but I wouldn't think the engine would be super picky so long as it's the same rating and fully synthetic would be better :) On second thought see if you can get your hands on royal purple, had a few friends that ran it and felt it was worth the extra outlay.
  22. That doesn't happen to be the more woodland camo Cube does it? I think I've seen it once or twice and am pretty sure I saw a photo of it turned up at the Zen Garage one day :P
  23. I'm definitely in :) Put off going to the top gear festival for a meet up :P
