  1. ZRE had its 140,000km service today (unfortunately only got to 132,000km before the 6mths were up) and had the TRD GT / Performance / "blue" brake pads fitted. I'll find out how well they go once they have bedded in and the latest bonus round (double points) has finished.
  2. It's looking a bit too much like a giant Yaris but the idea of a turbo sounds good (though whether it will come to Australia is another thing)
  3. ARen't there laws against how much pink one can have in the engine bay? I'm sure that cover is too much
  4. Spotted a black corolla OHY33(can't remember the last character now) pulling up to the lights at the intersection of Windsor Rd and Old Windsor Rd Kellyville this morning. Loved the sound of the exhaust and the dangler hanging off the back
  5. and something under the bonnet to justify the scoop (no point false advertising)
  6. Well you've answered my question as to whether to go for the garnish or not for my red pre-facelift (I choose No) John, Love the "F$%# You Kitty" about time that cat got some attitude
  7. Does anyine know how far away the next model Auris / Corolla is? I have been looking on the net and found only one set of pics of a taped up model that doesn't show much except the Yaris style square reflectors
  8. Noooo John don't do it, find a good auto trimmer and drop $2k (approx) and get leather (okay sure there is a significant price difference but the leather just looks and feels so much better). Alternatively if you want to be 100% genuine talk to John at Lindop UK and get the UK Auris Leather covers
  9. Picked up the new TRD GT Pads for the Corolla on Saturday, intended to fit them over the weekend but unfortunately that didn't happen so hopefully next weekend.
  10. It's a valid question that could have been worded a lot better. Stop and think for a moment how many people mod 6 cylinder Commodores and Falcons (non- XR6 Turbo types). It's mainly about personalising something that suits your needs and tastes(why choose a Supra over an EVO or WRX) We got the Camry because it fullfilled our needs (4 door sedan with plenty of boot space and was basically a good allround package at the time) - modified it because i) we needed the foglights due to severe fog in our area (which we discovered after buying a model without foglights) ii) chrome looks good (in my opinion) iii) leather looks and feels good (and cleans easily with kids) We got the Corolla because i) I needed something that could do big k's reliably (120,000 in 2 years) ii) needed something that wasn't going to blow my lease budget on fuel iii) Was not able to get a Supra or MR2 on a novated lease due to their age (I did look into it) and the other option of an old 911 (which I could get on the lease) was just too expensive to maintian for the big k's - modified it because i) decided it was a keeper and wanted to personalise it ii) leather is very comfy for 270km a day iii) Mt Kiera (if you know the 'gong enough said) We got the Tarago because the only other 8 seat V6 on the market with full length curtain airbags was a Kia - modified it because i) we wanted the features of an Ultima but it is only 7 seats and it was easier to mod an 8 seater than make a 7 seater an 8 ii) a lot of guys mod their family car, we just happen to have a bigger family iii) 200+ kW needed better brakes and it seemed wrong not to lower it (next question is exhaust or body kit)
  11. Look what the Kiwis get and remember 1NZD = 0.75AUD For those who can't be bothered with the link it's both models of the Blade
  12. back in 2006, Toyota quoted me approx $900- $1000 for the Gen 5.5 (2004-2006) Genuine fog lights. Not sure what the prices were like for the gen 5 (2002-2004) genuine foglights. Back in 2007 they were around half of that for the Gen5
  13. JUst as a note for those who are interested in Toyota Genuine the pre-facelift foglights were a lot cheaper than the facelift ones (I think about half the price from memory)
  14. It makes a bit of a mockery of the argument that the Australian market isn't big enough to bring these options if they are available in NZ (and before anyone says it sheep drive Hiluxes) For those who were wondering NZ sold 2456 Corollas Jan to Sept 2011 (www.goauto.com.au) compared with Australia 3766 for September 2011 alone (www.caradvice.com.au)
  15. No, it is actually a cut and past from the current NZ Corolla Hatch Accessories Brochure, they have two lip options over there one is factory on certain models and the other is an accessories option
  16. Does anyone know if a NZ headunit would work here? I know this might sound dumb but apparently there are issues with the radio from various countires as to whether or not they work in Australia
  17. Does anyone know what was the NZ front spoiler (if there was one) for the pre facelift ZRE, given that they offer one for the current model Apologies for the image quality
  18. Are you looking at the old 7inch 4CD unit or the new 6.1inch single CD model? If the Follow Me II / TNS410 works for you (and your mobile) I would stick with it. However if you are buying your Corolla new ask what the cost would be to upgrade to the new system at the time of purchase, I have heard rumours it is quite low
  19. The parts shown are now FTGH (Free To Good Home) at the end of the month (31 October) they go to the wreckers if no one is interested - need to clear some space
  20. Last Chance - At the end of the month (31 October) it goes to the local wreckers or Simsmetal (or the recycling bin if I am very very lazy)
  21. Last chance at the end of the month (31 October) they go to the wreckers or Simsmetal
  22. Had Alpine Type R 6x9's installed in the Camry today, massive improvement in sound clarity over stock
