  1. Depending on how cheap it is. I nearly ticking over 150000km, race every week, nearly every few days since i bought it 70000km+ ago. I got it compression tested, dynoed and still running like new. The only problem when these car gets older is that valve clearance needs to be adjusted as it gets noisier. Change lift bolt (camshaft lock bolt), because of the earlier model have old bolt that breaks. Not really much problem with the 2zz-ge i find. I'm still on stock shock/struts too. :P
  2. He got b18 now. *pack bags up and leaves* These guys change engine like they change underwear.
  3. Yeh, i know. He's fast on the 1/4. He still has around same mph trap speed than me. And i run 15s with 2.6 60ft :P It's a different story though, we don't "test" from a dig.
  4. Yeh, I'm pretty sure sang gonna win. But then again... paul got deep pockets. I always wanted to give those b18c7 civic a run. Even though i know they'll beat me. 1.8L vrs 1.8L... It's no fun racing the b16a civics. And, I saw the bride logo through the back of your window. I'll see you out this thursday then.
  5. True that, I've been out watching them test a few times. I don't stick around though. And your not that slow. At least you can beat the black, silver and gold eg b16a hatch. Nice bride buckets btw. I'll be out thursday night in my car this time. Just to watch close up match of sang and paul... :D
  6. So your friends with the "product of vietnam" crew. :P How come i never see you out with them on thursday night. Nice pics btw.
  7. Looks like a great day. Wish I went, but didn't wake up till 11. Some people take cleaning to a new level. Well done.
  8. Rain water tank ftw Then use bucket for final hose down.
  9. Boooo... I totally forgot about this. ;) I'll probably come for a looksies and the bbq. :D
  10. Celica should win. But then again, i had intake exhaust and tuned ecu when i was racing them. And yeh, for stats, 15.052 with 2.537 60ft in celica with just a cut up intake.
  11. Where's the drag coeffiecient stats at?
  12. If by zr celica you mean 2000+ celica. Then your in luck. Greddy brought out a supercharger kit not so long ago and is cheaper than the blitz kit. Both putting out similar gains but blitz have intercooler included. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/hopup1/celica.html
  13. It could be your car is not warmed up properly? For celica... The problem could be a broken lift bolt. But apparently it's not a problem with the corollas. Umm... Oil control valve not flowing correctly. Or low in oil pressure.
  14. I dunno about 2zz Corolla. But there are 2 turbo'd Celicas and 1 blitz supercharged celica in australia. There's heaps of turboed 2zz celicas, and 2zz mrs in the USA. I would think there will be a few turboed matrix too. I'd check out www.newcelica.org for ideas weather to turbo or supercharge the corolla. It's been discussed alot on that forum. And post from people who have turbocharge or supercharge their cars and their experiences. Although parts are not exactly the same between the two cars. They are fairly similar. Taken from C2Power website (although their kit is currently on hold because of greddy emanage tuning problems) Bare minimum needed to turbo: Garrett GT28RS dual ball bearing turbo preset at 0.4 bar (New with Garrett warranty) medium sized intercooler polished stainless steel piping tubular manifold hoses water and oil lines to turbo and out gaskets oil line flange Sard racing R2D2 Blow off valve and fitting (BOV) Apexi power intake and adapter The greddy with preloaded map is in the kit. But has a power dip when high cam engage. The power fc fixes the problem. You would be boosting about 6-7psi max on standard internals.
  15. It's been confirmed that the australian celicas do suffer from broken lift bolts like the american celicas. Recently two of ozcelica members had their lift bolt checked by toyota and both had broken bolts. But lift still worked on both cars. Wondering if any of you guys have check your bolts?
  16. I hate ozzy tyres with a passion... They broke my strut top mount. Never paid for it even though they keep telling me they are ordering in the part. They didn't drop my car the height i wanted. They dont' put panels in back properly. I HATE THEM!!!
  17. Do It!!!!! I want one... Too bad you drive a corolla..
  18. Here's what mine used to look like.. But i'm playing with the intake atm and going to do a copy of BB modded AEM CAI intake..
  19. Well.. It has been proven and also recommended by some of the "biggest names" in newcelica.org. 3-4kw atw for free is better then 3-4kw from intake that cost 200bucks. Also... there is no header out there for the celica that gains sufficient power to fork out the money for. And they still gain less than the ported header. Basically, the car comes with good parts standard and we are limited to mods that are actually affordable, so every little power counts.
  20. 3-4kw at the cost of skinned knucles... Umm... and 6 hours or more of hard work... Mostly removing the header... porting it with the right tools only takes 30mins... Took 8hours just to install oil pressure and water temp gauge into the bloody car.. So i'd think removing the header would be more of a pain in the bumhole
  21. Yeh.. the 3-4kw will keep me in the same league as most of you guys on the dyno.. :P
  22. You wanna test on my car too? I can't get teh damn header out from under the car using handtools..
  23. Has anyone every thought about port matching the header. The boys/girls in the US have done it and highly recommend it. I would do it if it wasn't stupidly hard to remove the header out.
  24. True.. Probably different between celica and corolla. But just about every celica owner with these have the same "problem" ;)
  25. If i were you.. I wouldnt get energy suspension engine mounts unless absolutely necessary.. The added vibrations is annoying.. Things start to rattle. It doesn't make much of an improvement. I little bit easier to land lift 1st-2nd.. I little bit better tractions. But not worth the pain and agony you'll have to live with everyday. K.. it probably be alright for some people. As long as you don't have a gf nagging at you saying ur car sux dog balls because of the added vibrations and noise.
