  1. Hahaha.. You found me.. Power figures are ok.. Anything over 200kw makes me happy. But, 1/4mile time is more important for me.
  2. Come to the JDM Style Tuning meet on Wednesday instead of meeting on Thursday this week!.
  3. Only one thing left to do now, take it to a real track :P Isn't drag strip enough? Yes yes... As soon as I get cooling sorted, I will hit up the tracks.
  4. arh saw your car briefly at the dyno day. Wasn't sure if you were a TOCAU member or not. You got to be thrilled with that result :) Not yet.. 220 is the goal.
  5. For 14.0sec 1/4mile.. I/H/E/ECU/DR and strip the bitch out would be enough. or I/H/E/ECU + cams or intake manifold.. Forget about dyno, some are happy and some are not...
  6. Sounds like you are making Assumptions. You do know what assume means? Reminds me of a good quote: Those who think they know it all are very annoying to those who do. AGREED X a gazillion :D And it makes those here trying to learn learn nothing. I am running 10psi through gt3076r on my stock 2zz-ge without dramas. And have a mate running 10psi through greddy s/c on his stock 2zz-ge celica. And there are plenty of supercharged/turbocharged 2zz-ge all over Australia without a problem, not mentioning in USA and the rest of the world. Please don't misinform others if you don't know yourself. And 3zz-ge will cost more too btw. The cost of the kit + ecu + flywheel + removing the engine + rebuild + tuning is more than a s/c kit fitted and tuned.
  7. I'd HIGHLY recommend to wait until E85 fuel is widely available. U reeeeally won't see much gain from a supercharger on a 2ZZ with only 98RON fuel. the 11.5:1 cr is too high and the supercharger becomes a restriction in the high revs where the 2ZZ is meant to shine. A free flowing turbo like a Garrett GT2860RS with the .86 exhaust housing would be a much better option as modern turbos are much more efficient than superchargers so less heat generated and much friendlier and safer on the engine. Oil cooler, upgraded radiator and removal of air con for better airflow to the radiator are pretty much a must if U want reliability. U'll obviously need all the other supporting mods like exhaust, intake, injectors, LSD and ECU. If u want more power than a sportivo, might be a good option to consider another car which would end up costing a lot less, having better resale value and handling much better. You say what where now? ;) Greddy s/c or blitz s/c. ~140kw atw + alot more torque. You don't need e85, you don't need to remove a/c, you don't need to upgrade radiator and you don't need lsd (unless you want). Basic mods i/e are needed in any form of induction and those kit comes with injectors and ecu.
  8. Looks like poor quality setup.. Ask for dyno sheet and more pictures.
  9. It's Shaohao... How you doing dude. Nice mini there. :P
  10. And engine is just not gonna go when it hits a certain number. But, if you want to spend money, depends how much your willing to spend. A 2zz + gearbox conversion will cost less than a full built 1zz turbo. But will still cost you at least 6-7g.
  11. Errrr... okay... Anyways, if your looking for engines, search partslocator.com I hope you have a mechanic to figure out why you distroyed your bottom end and need a new short block. Also, the 2zz-ge has a timing chain not timing belt and is supposed to be good for the life of the engine, so I highly doubt that would have been a problem.
  12. I don't have any software to tune the PFC.. i had my pfc tuned but its running a lot rich. i don't think they did a good job.. any recommendations? Then there's no point getting a base map because you won't be able to load it. Take it somewhere else that have done 2zz before and get it retuned.. That's your only option. If it's just n/a put back the stock ecu until you can get it tuned properly.
  13. There are refined base maps on newcelica for n/a celicas that are set pretty conservative. But, it's just a good base map and not meant to be used without being fined tuned to suit your car. On an n/a car, I don't think it would matter as much as most mods are similar. But still, only real good thing on these base maps are the settings (ie. water temp correction and define rpm and load) since most shops don't touch these when they tune. Also, there are a few different software out there for pfc tuning, what do you have?
  14. I want to come watch the next dyno session Jason. I want to see how the green machine pulls and this vipec in action.
  15. I also heard TRD was discontinued. The ones sold on mwr supposed to be toyota item. Quaife have an unlimited warranty even if you race.
  16. You forgot about intercooler piping, fuel pump, minor oil/coolant lines and fittings, gauges, bov, etc... All these things add up. Then you got towing etc... $12k will be cutting it quiet close, and the setup will be far from optimum. Myself and Bill are still modifying our setup to be perfect. Which means, return fuel system, modifying/new intercooler/exhaust, retune, etc. If you know how to fabricate and do the work yourself, you'll save alot of money and be much more satified with how it turns out. But in the end, it's all worth it.
  17. Shaft.... Rebuild... The whaaa????.... Do some research...
  18. Do it... That's all I can say.. There is a turbo kit for sale from a 2zz-ge celica. Only $9000, comes with just about everything you need. Just need to modify the intercooler piping and exhaust a little. 200kwatw (270hp) @ 10.5psi on stock internals. That's with a old worn out 2zz that got valve problems, will make more on a newer 2zz corolla.
  19. Ask Pippy... He would know... That lucky guy... <_< The 6sp box is direct fit. Oh, and a standard 1zz will be a standard 2zz before lift. Look at the power curve... And a 1zz-fze will still be slower than a modded 2zz-ge... :P
  20. You can run a wet nitrous kit pretty safely on these engines as long as it's set up properly. 50hp "wet" kit, rpm activation switch, safeguard... etc.
  21. Gotta remember.. Dyno are only a tuning tool. The numbers pretty much means nothing from dyno to dyno. Hit the tracks to get a more accurate idea of what your car is capable of.
