  1. Found this topic after looking harder... http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...ic=7800&hl= seems like alot to go through to get the right rating
  2. Well after a bit of ready around with some pluses and some minus... Basically the stock sportivo rims from an 03 will they fit onto my 06 ascent. I read in the stickie above that there is differences betweem the ascent and sportivo so hopefully some smarter wheel people out there might be able to help me out.
  3. Thanks kenneth, I will have to check em out when I get a chance to pop down. Sorry im still trying to understand how all this works... Basically the rolling diamater of the wheel between the normal wheels and say 17s is the same cause the 17 has more rim and less tyre where as the 15 has less rim and more tyre? If so its not gonna look stupid if i repace the stock rims with some nicer 15s Is there any huge benefit of going to 17 or even 16's apart from the obvious insanley good looks?
  4. After not having any questions for a while...on my lunch break today decided to head down to a few tire places in perth to get an idea on the costs of getting some new rims and tyres, after nearly having a heart attack at the prices (ruffly $1600 for 4x17" rims and tyres) and looking at different brands (ANZ and Speedy) had some designs that I liked but I def cant afford that type of $$$'s and seens ive still got 5 nice treaded tyres I cant afford to not use. So had anyone reaplced the stock steelies with some 15" rims and kept the tyres. Or can someone recommend someone around the perth area that has managed to get some cheaper rim&tyre packages. I know im probly asking heaps for them too be under $1000 but really that is way over my budget. The tyres on my current car are 195/60r15 but I dont know whether they would fit on 15 x 6.5 which is what im looking at in the brochure now. Im guessing they wont look as pimpin as some 17's but gotta be better than stock ones. Also what size are the sportivo rims, im guessing 16's as I wouldnt be that lucky to pick up a 2nd hand set or 15's lol. Basically want to make my ride different without blowing holes in my wallet.
  5. Add me in on the list. Aslong as its not a weekday I should be fine.
  6. Aw sif organise when I wont be here....next meet ill bring my 99%-near stock rolla along so you guys can compare how 'modded' urs are :P
  7. Very nice navy blue, looked sportivoish but dont think it had a front badge, goldy rims and driving around near the midland military markets used to be around 630ish tonite, like it
  8. amazing cars and u wont be disappointed, my acsent is still sweet as but levins, conquest and sportivos just have that bit extra, dont regret a thing getting corolla 06/07
  9. haha was just about to say that kenneth, had a kid on the off ramp from graham farmer to great eastern wash my car with my gf and i both waving no. Washes my windscreen then yells atm...ffs my screen was cleaner before hand. Had to stop round the corner and get my glass cloth out, couldnt see a damn thing and he wanted money for it...there is no hope for these people.
  10. Keep seeing a nice 05/06 White Sportivo in the Midland Area, nice exhaust and wheels licence plate along the lines of 'Humminbird' Also saw a nice 05/06 couldnt see what it was just glanced across was that graphity color and nice rims, nice looking machine around Midland Gate 1230ish and an absolutely beautiful stock white 06 sitting out the front of my place this morning...o wait thats mine :P
  11. Agreed with everyone, bought some of the touchup paint in a pen from malz, what a huge mistake, its nothing like the paint on the car. If your gonna get it done get it done right
  12. As a p-plater myself I try and refrain from doing stupid **** as much as possible (it sometimes happens and I dont realise how stupid it was til after ive done it). You get labelled by every driver on the road as a 'hoon' or 'bad driver'. Many times people have pulled up beside me at the lights reving the **** outta there 'aussie muscle car' just cause ive got a p-plate on my car, ive got a fullly stock ascent ffs why would i wanna drag you...there really are some total dumb ****s on the road.
  13. Are you a younger driver aswell cause insurance is a bitch atm I grabbed my 06/07 last year and financed most of it and its been amazing so far, I forget the payments are even coming out :P. But my biggest problem is the insurance I had more luck paying the lump sum for the year then doing it monthly which meant less deposit. But so far I havent had one issue and its been a load of fun having a nice new car while lots of my mates are dumping money into cars to keep em going. Just make sure you can afford it. I always have a bit extra cash in the bank just incase something goes wrong.
  14. LOL I sounded like a noob then, sorry late night post. Was more asking if I get 15" Rims they dont look overly stupid with the stock tires or should i just go all out for some 17"s and not so low profile tires?
  15. Thatd be great if you could mate. Only down the road from my work so can nip down during lunch. Also got another newbie question. The tires on my car are still going good (~14,000kms) and dont really wanna think about replacing them atm but wanted to look at getting some new rims as the stock ones are a bit meh and nothing too special. Is it possible to get some 16" 17" rims and keep the stock tires or will i need to get some new lower profile ones cause I like my big chunky tires :P
  16. Well went for a quick drive round the streets and the higher revs in 2nd gear managed to get between 5-6k but it kinda feels like the car is working too hard and wasnt game to do it much more. Its good to know my car can do it but I cant see it being good doing it all the time some how. Also might have to shop around for gear knobs somemore tomorrow at some of the places around, online sucks cant find anything that isnt like $150-200 which is insane for a gear knob I think. If anyone can recommend somewhere in Perth that would be very good...or even online.
  17. Well after a quick read of this handy link http://autospeed.com/cms/A_107829/article.html Im sold on getting a new gear knob, off 2 ebay I go with mastercard in hand :)
  18. I know it might sound newbie but you mean the gear knob as in the part you can just screw off or like the whole setup? Itd be nice if i just had to replace the actual knob part. Its something id be willing to try :P
  19. Id love to come to the meet up but im away that weekend. The next one ill def come to and meet up and see some of the stuff people have done. Im gonna test out a bit higher revs on the way home if im feeling confident enough after a hard day at work :P Thanks for all the replys so far guys im sure ill be on here alot more as time goes by and I get more money and confidence. Edit: Also has anyone in the perth sector managed to find some decently priced rear lights for the hatchback, preferably want black (hate chrome). Went into the autoshop at midland gate and they want $340 for some no namers. Just seems a bit much so any help there would be good.
  20. Well just wanted to say Hi to everyone and to get some possible help and questions answered. I have a White Corolla Ascent 06 Hatchback ZZE122 and am from WA. So far all ive done is replace the stock cd player thats a total pos (damn small displays and only like 15-30 characters...) With and Alpine CDA-9885 and its just insanly better sound and useability. Then a towbar, weathershields is all ive done so nothing extreme. My questions are as follows Ill also let people in on the fact that im a noob when it comes to cars. (Still on my P's and this is my first car so not too much laughing please) I try not to thrash my car while driving but sometimes I either need to accelerate quickly or just feel like it. What is the limits that are good for the car, rpm wise from gear to gear. The most ive ever reved it from like 1st -> 2nd and 2nd -> 3rd is between 3-4k rpm and sometimes it feels like itd be too much to do anymore. People with non-sportivos what are your limits? Also when changing gears its very clunky and makes a bit of a noise and isnt 100% smooth when changing. Ive got my 12month service coming up and what to get an idea if its something that the service people can adjust or fix for me. Next on the list. Im wanting to do a few things to my car to make it stand out a bit from the 1000's of other white corollas around :P. Ive enquired at a few places around Perth for some black rear lights as my next task and also those snazzy door sills look nice. Kinda happy with the power of the car as its more than I imagined it would be so mainly cosmetic. I might save my next few questions for another topic another day. Any help or opinions will be great. Thanks guys and hopefully will be able to take part in some WA Get Togethers
