  1. OK you've mentioned wiring again so I'm just checking you understand that the stereo will go in with the correct iso adaptors. And being a jvc/Kenwood it has "direct oem" steering wheel capability which is a simple tap into 3 wires of ur harness for (very basic) steering control
  2. That Kenwood looks like a nice head unit, but pricey, but I guess depends what u want it to do. I wish they had more built in features like maps, instead of having to physically connect the phone or touch it at all. Oh, and dont go the Chinese route, Im yet to hear a legitimate positive review yet
  3. Had a cheap 100cpsi cat fitted to replace the 3rd (factory is 600cpsi) Engine note is clearer, volume hasn't changed too much.
  4. Don't put any grease on the studs, this will cause too much torque. 110nm is what I do them up, and even then it doesn't feel enough. It seems cars made for spririted driving require more torque such as 86's
  5. Yeah your right. I hate dashmats. You can tell these guys have done a lot of these before. I don't believe it to be as hard job as made out to be.
  6. Have been booked in to have dash replaced, for what must be one of the last ones under goodwill warranty. Thank you Toyota 👍 Spent around an hour tidying up all my accessory wiring & preparing the dash for removal, leaving in speedo so I can drive in the meantime. In hindsight I should've just thrown a dashmat on top of it 😂
  7. Most probs included fitting. Still ouch though
  8. The 4" tips on mine look **** house from the side 😂
  9. I seen one of these sportivo today & particularly noticed half the muffler shows along with the entire tip from a side on view. The tip would have to be welded straight onto the muffler or would look funny, if ya know wat I mean I wonder if a Mercedes diffuser could be grafted on....
  10. Hmm. There's no cutouts in the bumper, so whilst the 4" would look great, it would have to be carefully placed as high as possible without rattling on the bumper...... Maybe not possible? Another option is the widest possible oval tips u can find, example... https://m.aliexpress.com/i/32957228832.html
  11. Regarding exhaust mods you have to choose mufflers carefully. You may spend 700 bucks and find u can barely hear it, or...... The drone will drive u insane. I went with a pair of redback A534GP resonators along with 100mm tips which I found fairly quiet so I had the middle factory resonator removed, whereas another member here found them a bit boomy. Everybody's ears are different haha. https://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/58070-rear-muffler-delete/ A pair redbacks are 140ish and tips less than that. Get some more quotes https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/263744537644
  12. As campbeam mentioned, the sportivo already has an upgraded rear sway bar so I wouldn't bother. If you still wanted less understeer, then make use of the coilovers and dial in less negative camber in the rear than the front. Example: fronts set at - 1.25 deg & rears at - 0.75deg
  13. When u say axle back, do u mean just the rear section (2 mufflers)?
  14. It all started with me begging for a free dashmat since they couldn't do the dash, then to hear from them a couple months later with this news, I am over the moon 🎉..... And at the same time not looking forward to removing wires that i have ran thru the dash.... Tweeters, dash cam, footwell lights, hud, reverse cam, power seats etc etc.... 🤪😳
  15. That's a sexy aurion, welcome. Regarding police, there's not much u can do as the "P" plate attracts their attention from the get go. If u have a driving history then it just gets worse from there. What will be the specs of the exhaust?
  16. Welcome 👍 Ive been doing bits here & there on my '11 aurion, here's a link to my thread for ideas. Regarding mods, well it all comes down to each individual taste but this would be my order... 1. Window tint 18% (I see yours is done already) 2. Head unit. Checkout the jvc & Kenwood range as they usually have built in programmable steering wheel controls which allows simple connection via 2 wires, look for the "direct oem steering" symbol on the box/description 3. Lowered suspension. Dropping the height of car by 30-50mm will make it much more appealing to look at than any bodykit or rims on their own. And the upside to that is a massive difference in the way the car handles. I recently fitted new springs & struts and it looks & handles great, but if I had to do it again I would go the bc racing coilover kit, which u can find on ebay. This will allow fine tuning of comfort & ride height and will only end up being slightly more expensive than buying parts separate. The other option is fitting the pedders springs on the factory struts along with camber bolts to adjust back to spec, but the ride will be rough as hell. 3. Rims...... If we are talking about factory rims.... 2006+ Kluger, chr, camry will bolt straight on due to them using the same shank wheel nuts. Aftermarket there will be plenty choices, but I've never looked into sorry. 18s for compromise between comfort looks, and 19s for looks. 20s won't have much Tyre on them so will be prone to damage on our roads. The rest of the stuff like exhaust, lighting, body kits comes down to personal preference & there should be plenty reading ahead for you on this site 😛
  17. After being told 2 months ago there's no stock left to replace the dash in the last of the remaining 40series I received a very pleasant call today 😁 Toyota will manufacture a new dash using materials from "a later series aurion", so I'm booked in for the end of the month 🎉🎉🎉 I do have a question though, how much is actually removed and replaced? I ask because I hav a few random wires scattered around at the bottom, underneath the dash for footwell lights/dash cam etc etc, so if they have to be removed then I'd rather do these myself in preparation
  18. Spend the coin on some lowered springs first imo Body kit with 4wd height and factory atx wheels won't look nice
  19. Fitted 31mm led in dome, & tapped into the dome light's brown & white wires behind the glove box for the footwells. (diagram courtesy of another thread)
  20. I put them there for all my cars, coz it sounds the best in that location for my ears. If I ever have that airbag deploy, I'll let u know how it goes
  21. It's a JVC KW-V250BT which like most Kenwood/jvc models has a built in steering wheel button controller which made installation a breeze, and I used aerpro Toyota spacers to reuse the larger factory faceplate. Added a pair of cheap jvc 6x9 with custom spacers & Kenwood tweeters for extra clarity. Will look at bass options soon
  22. One side done. Went on fine like I thought 👍
  23. Checked it out again myself, there's no issue with the wheel nuts, that tiny bit sticking out the back of the wheel slots perfectly in the gap around the stud just like the factory nut did. These wheel nuts are literally perfect for this application.
